End of Day 1, part of Day 2
OMG. It's been a crazy day or so. There's so much to write up that I'm going to split this into sections to make sure I can remember all the details.
My parents finish up their errands pretty quickly, and we head back to the Wynn to play for a couple of hours before dinner at Lakeside (seafood and other excellent dishes).
I run colder than ice and proceed to give back all of my winnings at that point, plus another 4K. Every trip draw misses. Every two pair fails to turn into a full house. Normally, I don't sweat two pair draws (since the best it can turn into is a full, 45 credits), but you DO need the FH to come in every once and a while just to stay alive. NOTHING. I must have lost 5K+ in less than 2 hours. Dinner can't come soon enough and I'm thoroughly on tilt now.
Entrance to Lakeside.
Overlooking the escalators down to Lakeside and SW steakhouse.
I go with the fries, creamed spinach and Wagyu strip from next door (SW steakhouse). My parents get a huge plate of king crab (I think 5 lbs).
They're just fries, but they're always well done.
Creamed spinach. Meh.
Wagyu strip. It was decent, but I prefer the preparation at Mizumi.
The king crab plate. This was the highlight of the meal. The crab was perfectly prepared, almost falling out of the shell. It was the easiest thing in the world to eat and we couldn't finish it with all the other food.
After, we gamble for a bit. I can't hit anything and lose another 1K. I am officially scared.
End day 1 result- -6.5K
Part of Day 2
I wake up before 6am, OF COURSE, from a combo of Vegas fever and the dry air. The plan today is to hit the Wynn, take my mom to the airport (she's leaving today, dad and I are staying until Sunday), then hit the gym to train. I diligently stretch and perform all my basic rehab exercises which I despise but are necessary. We make it to the Wynn around 9am and I feel like I've accomplished something.
The machines are decent and I'm positive, but I can't seem to catch the big one...
Again with no kicker! At this point I must have made 4 aces at least 6 times, all without a kicker. I stopped counting and taking pics at some point. It's like taking a picture of the bat they use to beat you with.
Here come the irrelevant dealt quads! Same chance to be dealt KKKK as AAAA, 2222, 3333, or 4444. It even gave me an ace kicker to start (which I dumped). Call the tax man, minimal handpay... sigh.
The good news is I'm feeding in 100$ bills and cashing out 200-500$ tickets pretty routinely. Then, I finally get something meaningful...
It's time to take mom to the airport. I leave the AM session only stuck a bit from yesterday's debacle. I drop her off and made a game-time decision to put the gym off until tomorrow. Basically, training Sat is a no go b/c of the timing of the VP tournament. So, it was either train W-F or Th-F. I've got all my and my dad's stuff in the car and we have yet to check in, and without the room I don't want to leave him hanging for a few hours, so I go straight back to the Wynn. Thank god I did.
Our suite is a two bedroom deal; my side seems to be a standard room, not that I care.
Dad's side is a little nicer, with a separate bedroom and a bathroom that is simply excess personified.
Entrance to the room, with wet bar on the side.
Main living area.
Master bed.
Master bath with 1, 2, 3 sinks! WTF. How many people could be in there that you need 3 sinks but only 1 toilet? So LOL.
My dad and I order room service. I try and keep it light and get a chicken caesar salad while my dad gets a roast beef sandwich. I don't even bother taking pics. The salad is fine, but my dad's sandwich is dry, and they forgot the basics like mayo. Weak. My dad decides he doesn't want any more of that nonsense and we go down to play. We have dinner at 6pm at Mizumi.
On the way down the hall, my dad forgets his phone... I turn around and go get it for him. Why are these details important? Remember, everything and every event had to line up just so for X to happen...
I decide to hang with my dad and watch him play. I suggested that we team up (so I can reduce my exposure), but we've generally had bad results doing that and my dad is reluctant. I tell him that he's being results-oriented
but he wants to play 25 lines, 1$ credit (so 125$/push), which is too big for me anyways. If I took a piece of his action I'd probably only get 20%, so if he hit a royal my share would be 800$. Forget it, I'll just watch him.
About 10 min in, he gets dealt this. AGAIN with the dealt kings? Where the F are the aces? I mean, that's great and all, but this could go fast and both of us know it.
They take forever to pay him and unlock the machine. I move a few machines down and play a bit of double double bonus. 5 hands in, he starts calling my name and I come over to have a look...
It's just a little bigger than the previous hand.
To be continued...
