How much do you care about the cleaning done in your room after the previous guest checks out and before you check in?

I know nothing, but I imagine issues beyond drop in service:

Security?
Manned fire & emergency stations?
Getting guests out of stalled elevators?
Cleanup of overflowing, clogged drains?
Removal of trash trays, puke, and refuse left in hallways in any 24 hour cycle?

Etc ... being stuck deep in the bowels of a mainly 1980s, 2,640 room maze-like mega-resort w/o appropriate property management in place could turn into something like a haunted house ride

Personally, I could consider looking into alternative accommodation options, just to be ahead of the masses ...

What are the chances of a deal being struck and a strike being averted?
Quite worrying as 1st June fast approaches!!
Surely, a strike would cost the casinos too much what with WSOP, Stanley Cup finals in town plus the summer season.

You could be right. That's why I'm conflicted: $750 vs. $120 is real money (to a lower bankroll guy), but having zero problems at Cosmo vs. possible ****show at Ballys could be the difference between a great trip and a nightmare.

My cancellation time for either hotel is 11 pm on 5/31...Probably they will figure something out at midnight!

LAS VEGAS — Negotiators have reached a tentative labor agreement that would cover about a quarter of the 50,000 hotel and casino workers who are threatening to strike in Las Vegas.

"The Culinary Workers Union Local 226 said Friday that the new five-year deal with Caesars Entertainment covers about 12,000 workers at nine casino resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. Tens of thousands of bartenders, housekeepers, bellmen and other unionized workers at 34 casino-hotels on the Strip and in downtown Las Vegas have sought a new, five-year contract since February."

That's good news. Let's hope MGM follow suit and agree a deal also

Bog relief for me at least as I’m staying at the linq. I started researching alternatives just in case. For those looking to switch it up I saw affordable availability at Hard rock, hooters, and I guess now all Ceasars properties are now in play. Good luck to everyone and lets just hope MGM and the misc ones make deals soon before an actual strike happens.

Saying that the union members haven't voted to accept Caesars offer yet so I won't 100% comfortable until they do. If the vote passes I expect the others to settle quickly afterwards.

likelihood of ratification is 99%+, minimum.

That general article, from 1000s of miles away was written before any deal was reached btw. So, please read it again, there wasn't anything on the table to ratify.

There was a 99% vote to authorize a strike, pretty indicative of solidarity with leadership.

Your tolerance for risk should be satisfied at this point ....

MGM has also reached a deal

Yes I'm well aware of that, quote from article and link was for Mikel who asked about the chances of settling.

Members voting to strike in such large numbers has no bearing on whether they will find contract offers attractive enough to accept or not. Just because Union leadership recommends ratification doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion.

See Caesars in Windsor, Ontario for a recent example:

http://windsorstar.com/news/local-ne...tive-agreement

I'm pretty sure this won't be the case for Vegas workers, but like I said I won't be 100% confident until the contract is ratified.

Good news!

Caesars employees voted yesterday and ratified the new contract:

Twelve-thousand unionized workers at the casino-resorts operated by Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas have a new contract.

Housekeepers, food servers, bartenders, cooks and other members of the Culinary Union on Thursday approved the new five-year agreement in two voting sessions.
