Probably just call and D1 for me. It's not like we have great high potential with a wrap or flush draws, and given that we're OOP against the original raiser he can properly pat if he has something like a T convertible.

First decent scoop in a while. Won super stud no qualifier with a K high flush and a Q low against another flush and his K low

I used to enjoy playing mixed games when they consisted of games I actually liked, such as the common mix of Hold Em, Omaha/8, Razz, Stud, and Stud/8.

Times change.

Different strokes for different folks. I personally am warming to the new mixes and appreciate hearing hands and strategy on all of these games.

This is all I know. Once a year or so I can get my home game to a HORSE night, but since it's just once a year, we have to look up the rules every time. I always confuse Razz and Lowball, and I'm supposed to be the brains if the establishment.

IDK if this is true, but it seems like you need to have serious cash to even be interested in playing mix games these days. Sure we could play some of this for nickels or quarters, but we'd never take it seriously. And none of us are degen enough to aspire to want to drop a couple hundred bucks on a game we don't even know the rules to. So I appreciate TRs like this where I can live vicariously.

Though I'd prefer if in this vicarious life we were running better! GL OP!

beware baccarat, something about the simplicity of flipping for sides and watching outcomes can be intoxicating at times, especially when you get to peel them yourself only pit game i'll play other than bj

how does one get competent at these, they don't seem to spread at lower limits, i've played a bunch of em back in the day in those astronomer freeroll series stars had but i don't think i learned much beyond basic strategy and gameplay - I couldn't imagine just starting off at those stakes having only studied up on theory

i'm also a bit of a weirdo in that I really love badugi, always try to get people to play it at home games and nobody ever bites, not once been successful

Pre-Covid 4/8 ran some what frequently. A good place to learn cheap. Problem I see with mix games the most, is there is no real "mid" stakes. I guess 20/40 could be considered but lately I havent seen it run much. But anyone feel free to correct me. You would often see 4/8 and the next jump is 40/80, or 80/160. If there were also 10/20 and 15/30 games it would be great. But maybe the mix game player base cant support that. You get either the 4/8 "for fun crowd" or the nosebleeds. Not much in between.


Edit - the 9/18 the wynn use to have pre-covid was a nice start at a mid stakes game, but i guess that game died.

Gl with your trip! Nice report. Badugi lowers ftw! I 3 bet bluffed river once in my life against a whale from South Korea while playing 100 200 on ftp. Good old days. Game is pretty much dead online now sadly.

Not sure whether the spelling of "Dueces" or trying to figure out all the crazy games is messing with me more

(Did play a cheap mixed game at Imperial Palace once and although the regs were nice, it was tricky to relax properly as they can/want to play at a decent speed and a few of us didn't know all the games fully and needed more time to think)

Took a day off yesterday and sleep most of it and hung out with the GF. Ended up down a little over 100 BB in probably the worst 15-20 hours of poker in my life. Also lost a decent amount playing 80/point Chinese.

Had a heart to heart with the GF and with her blessing ended up starting a little epic comeback last night, hoping it continues today and will try and post some pics in a little. I will hopefully do a live update a little later, from the pits, no more poker this trip but hopefully an epic degen pit run!!!

Have 48 hours left, flying out on Sunday. Have dinner tonight at the Wynn and will post some pics. Hoping to turn this epic disaster into an epic run!!

Played some 6 deck in high limit and hung out with our host. She offered to take us out to the speedway to watch some drag racing so on he way there now with my buddy and her friend. I’ll give some write ups a little later on me experiences meeting our cosmo host.

By no means am I a high limit better, and average around $300/bet over the past 10 years or so but have been able to meet some great people who are down to earth and make for a fun time.



Out for a $1500 win.

Had lunch at Chile Panoski and highly recommend it for a mid day lunch

Nice trip report, glad you took the host up on the Speedway. When I get stuck a decent amount I get tunnel vision and cant get pried away from the tables.
