Vegas Strip - Cash Game Wait Lists During WSOP Colossus Weekend Vegas Strip - Cash Game Wait Lists During WSOP Colossus Weekend

Hi all,

I unknowingly booked a (non-refundable) weekend trip to play cash games this year during the Colossus (6/2 through 6/5). I read in previous posts about the nightmare wait-lists during the first couple years of the tourney, but heard that it eased up a bit since they have cash games at the Rio. I'm staying at Caesars and would prefer to play 1/3 or 2/5 at Bellagio or Aria, but I'm assuming that's a no-go. Didn't find any updated posts from 2017.

Anyone have any experiences to share from 2017? Was it smoother since Rio added more cash tables? Do poker rooms still accept call-ins during the busy season? Thanks.

I would ask in the LVL forum since it's all things Vegas. (or I can just move it there myself )

I am also interested in similar waitlist question, going to be there 6/22-7/1 (which includes the first day, as well as day 2+ of the giant, and the weekend right before the main) planning to play 5/10 mostly on the weekends (and may donk around in the giant, never did a wsop tourney, meh)

I was thinking id be playing at mostly bellagio, figuring Aria/bellagio are the only places that regularly have 5/T, but I guess...maybe there will be 5/T other places right before ME?

I'm new to posting, tried researching how to move it myself, please do so if you can.

Call in your name to the wait list 30-45 minutes before you plan to arrive. They keep your name on there for an hour. Check in at the podium/desk when you arrive at the room. Your 50 person wait for those games (they move pretty fast, especially 1/2 and 1/3) will be under 10.

i was there for two weeks in the middle of june last year. waitlists on the strip were insane. easily 3+ hours at the big rooms (Aria, Bellagio) during peak times. I ended up playing mostly at the Rio (wsop area) since i could always get a seat. Worst case at the Rio was 20 minute wait. You should be able to get a seat in the big rooms between 4 and 11am, otherwise expect to have a bit of a wait.

Speaking of "wait" I can't wait to get down there and do it all over gain

Bellagio has added more tables into its room and now it feels pretty cramped in there. They also have extra tables in the sportsbook that I assume they will be using for cash games.

Aria has a bunch of tables outside the poker room that it might use for cash games (mostly has been used for tournaments so far). On Monday I noticed they had some 1-3 NL games going there; that’s the only time I noticed any cash games in that area. Hopefully as the wait lists get longer they will have more cash games in that area.

They were blindsided by the first Colossus should be better now. My advice is start early and call ahead the lists weren't bad till evening when I checked. By mid june things have calmed down a lot.

I played Colossus last year, and got into a game within 20-30 minutes at the Rio in the Pavillion on Saturday. Sunday played Colossus. Monday, got into a cash game at the Venetian with no wait.

Wait times at those limits are nothing noteworthy... the games open up quickly.

20-30 max unless something is wrong like a staffing issue. Normally it should be within 15 minutes or less.
