I'm thinking of moving to Vegas in a few years. Looking at craigslist the rent is really cheap - 1 bedroom apartments for around $400. Can anyone tell me if this is realistic, and what to expect? Obviously I'd want to be close to main casinos

Thanks

You should ask in the LVL forum. I asked another mod to move this there (I'm on my phone so I can't).

There are studios that cheap just east of strip but you are not in the best of areas.....one br for 400 I have never seen....buddy just moved into studio basically across street from rio for 499 no deposit with good credit.....for 450 to 500 you can get solid studio in good area but you have to hunt...check units for bugs....see the neighbors....etc

$400-600 for the hood
$600-750 for just south/west of the hood but still a stones throw
$750-900 for the safe side of the burbs
$900+ very safe, nice stores, good location/access to a lot of places

If you're looking for a single bedroom, keep that general logic and you'll be fine.

I pay 650 for an awesome 1 bedroom in a really nice gated community on W Russell and Durango. About 10-15 min drive to Strip and only 10 mins from Red Rock. Do some research and you will find some good ones.

I've been hunting for one bedrooms/studios the last couple weeks. Im finding it all to be in the $700+ range, with availability a few weeks to a month out. I would love a decent studio, as I have very little stuff and just live alone. If anyone knows of such a specific thing, I'd love to hear about it.

This!

People that are either renting a place they own or they are realtor's have general knowledge on the area There are good deals out there but you aren't gonna find some 1bdr for $400 in a super nice area. Just how it is. Lower the rent, more crime or rundown area of town.

Safe website or a listing of safe places to live? Lol. I would also like to find a large list of apartments in one place.

Get a realtor or property manager and put together a list of areas you would like to live and a price range and they will put you on their emailing list and send you listings that fit your criteria a couple times a week.

Those 400 dollar places are a nightmare. If you can at least spend 700 you can get something acceptable. 900 for something you wouldn't be ashamed for a girl to see.

I used to work over there. It's not too bad there. As soon as you pass that Arizona Charlie's on Decatur you get "Out of the butt and into the phuk".
