Vegas Players Boxes Question Vegas Players Boxes Question

I'd like to pick the brains of the Vegas folk here. I'm looking for information on players boxes. I'm more interested in Aria The B and Wynn. Searches have been unfruitful, same with google.

I'm interested how do you get one? Do they rent them out on a monthly basis? If so, how much? I'm sure there's a wait list for those casinos, are they a few months long wait list? Years? Is it just politics to get one?

The only thread I saw was from like 2011, and didn't have much info in to other than it's hard to get one. That it's at the discretion of the poker room manager. Is this still true, or just first come first serve?

I appreciate any and all information.

Talk to the shift manager and they'll put you on a list. If you're lucky they might have one open and you can just get one right away.

You need to play every couple months or they'll drill it and give it to someone else. It's $100 deposit for the key. Bellagio you're never going to get one in the poker room but you can get a temp box on the casino floor. Aria I'm not sure. Wynn I think has a reasonably fast moving waiting list in the poker room. All of the rooms do look at your time played as a factor as well.

They don't do a monthly basis, there's no charge. If you want one for a couple months, just get one, tell them you want to close it after you're done, and they'll give you the $100 deposit back nbd. I'd get on the list before the WSOP starts because it gets a lot tougher to get one a couple months from now.

What is a temp box and can you explain that? I assume you need to be a hotel guest at bellagio to get this or anyone can get this?

They call them temporary boxes at Bellagio, supposedly they will close them after a couple of months but I know people who've had them for close to a decade. They're in the center of the casino by the cashier and much easier to get than the boxes in the poker room, which are virtually impossible to get.

Anyone can get them, just ask the shift supervisor to call the cage for you. You might have to wait on a list for a few months or you might get lucky and have one open for you right there.

It's usually pretty easy to get a box in Vegas if you're playing for a few months or longer. It's free and much safer than carrying cash around. Just ask the staff to help you out and they'll do it for you.

Hint: It helps if you're nice when you ask and if you're nice to the staff in general. Say hello when you see the floor, introduce yourself, and ask them how they're doing. Just general good advice for if you're planning on spending a lot of time in poker rooms.

squid you got the hook up. I had to put $100 deposit for my box at Venetian. This was years ago though.

highly and I mean highly unlikely you'll ever get one (a permanent box) if you're not a reg. like others have said, there is a LONG list and turnover is relatively low.

also, they judge you getting one off how many hours you play / what stakes you play. the poker room manager will ask you these questions.

dont count on getting one in all honesty. your best shot is getting a temporary one. pretty sure you can ALWAYS get a temp one at the main cage as one other guy has mentioned.

Can you explain a bit more how these temporary boxes are? So they just require a $100 deposit and you get it back once you don't want the box anymore? So normally you have to use it once every 3 months or 6 months? Im surprised you dont need to be hotel guest for this option. Also, does almost every vegas casino have this option for temporary box?

But can you explain the how someone can get these for close to a decade? Just use it once every X amount of months? Also whats the difference between these and the poker room boxes then? Seems like these temporary boxes are pretty good assuming they only require your ID and a deposit only? Do you get a key just like the poker room box?

I heard you get privacy with a poker room box but in temporary boxes... so you go there... then they give you the box then see what you put in and out etc or its private as well? Is there any hassle with them if you go to your box say 2 or even 3 times a day? I assume something like this at the poker room isn't a big deal but for a temporary box... would it be a bit different though? Just curious whats the difference between a poker room box and temporary box assuming with the temp box, you can keep it close to forever if you go there every few months etc?

Thanks.

there's no difference between a temp box and a poker room box except the location of where the box is. You can put whatever you want in there, there's a private room where you access it. No need to be a hotel guest or anything like that.

They say you need to be playing regularly or they'll drill the box open and give it to someone else. Who knows if they actually check your play though. You can access it 1000x a day, they're not going to care or track that.

Okay but when you want to go to the box, where is the location of it exactly? Is it at the door of the cashier thus in poker room you have to go to the cashier and say you want to go to your box, then they open the door for you then you go in and then you take your key and then look for your box number then open it?

What about the temp box? The thing is if few ppl go there there during similar time, isn't there going to be not much privacy? i can't imagine theres a few rooms there and its only 1 private room so confused a bit on this.

I've only used the ones at the former IP, but I'd assume its the same other places.

The boxes are at the cage and there are several windows in front of where the boxes are with curtains.
