I play poker and do very little degen, but I am thinking of dabbling a bit in hopes of getting a little casino credit. a couple years ago I played very little at Red Rock and got offers for 3 nights a month for like a year which was pretty sweet.

anyway, I am interested in South Point, Resorts World, Treasure Island or Mirage. don't even have a player card for the latter two. if I put a $100 or two in a slot or play some BJ or pit games, am I likely to start getting some comp offers?

I hear online a lot how even low-rollers get pretty generous deals. I'm not asking about stiff MGM or Caesars or Wynn. SP and RW are my top choice. Mirage or TI are located the best.

just wondering if anyone has suggestions on where a little play would most likely to be rewarded

Not sure about the ones you listed, but i havent found caesars or mgm to be stiff. I get pretty good rates at both caesars and mgm just from playing poker, putting food on my room, (and i dont eat a whole lot cuz i eat lunch comped most days) and literally $0 of degen. I dont think ive bet even a single dollar outside of poker in at least 5 years.

Heading to vegas in a few weeks and im staying $85/night + resort fees at the aria. I stay as cheap as like $15/night at some of the crappy but good location caesars properties like flamingo or paris. MGM Grand also tends to be cheap and has a pretty good location (with the location of aria’s poker room, id say the MGM grand hotel is closer to it than the Aria’s hotel).

I averaged about 8-9 hrs/day at mgm properties, and played one 4 hr 2/5 session at caesars, but i also signed up for a CC that gets me caesars diamond, which means no resort fees. I also can match caesars -> wynn (thru may 31) -> mgm (match only lasts 3 months) and wont pay any resort fees at the aria this trip, but usually i gotta pay the fees at mgm. If you can get 150 hrs in at poker in a year at mgm its no resort fees there either.

i can't speak to anywhere else you mentioned but i ran a few thousand through Mirage video poker and got really good offers. I also tier matched to their Icon status so no scam resort fees.

Being a member of a casino's loyalty program is going to make you eligible for baseline comp offers. I think gambling a couple hundred bucks on something like VP is not really going to move the needle on comps. All casinos use your average daily theoretical loss (ADT/"theo) in calculating comps, and especially at VP where depending on the game you're playing the ROI is likely like 95-98%, the house is making very little money off you.

There may be an algorithm that awards someone with *some* play over someone with *no* play, such that your strategy may trigger slightly better offers for you, but I'd be surprised if it is meaningful.

I've run a few hundred through vp at South Point, no comps. I seldom get offered anything at Orleans either, unless I run a few $k through vp. The cheaper places don't seem to be big on giveaways unless you go nuts. They have so many locals that have the highest card status. I see them everywhere when I go. With so many locals pouring coin-in into the slots, it takes a lot to impress those hotels.

The thing that might make a big difference though, is I've had a card in the past. So they know I know where their casino is. If you've never had a card or stayed there, they might offer a "brand new" player a lot more than they did me.

I know that VP doesn't get much, I might play the slot lotteries which seems to be a little more interesting for the people who give offers. I don't like VP anyway.
I love SP but I'll probably have to just plan on paying full value if I want to go there.

South point is notoriously stingy with mailer offers (they know they'll pack the place anyway)

Haven't been to TI in years, so no input there.

Resorts World probably won't flinch at minimal action.

Mirage is probably your best bet, but be advised that they will wipe out your future offers if your play falls short of whatever they deem acceptable during your stay.

I’d probably try video baccarat with no commission and bet only banker, based on what a poster said in the Borgata thread in Venues sub forum. I’m guessing that marks you as a degen in the algo more so than playing table games.

Do you mean they'll cancel stuff you've already booked or they'll pull your future offers?

I dabble in poker at RW and put my name in the computer when buying food sometimes, but ultimately it's a top tier property (or at least they see themselves that way), so their rates are still sky high when they send me offers via e-mail. I wouldn't bank on getting a good deal there if you aren't spending a lot.

How much do you have to play to get the $15 a night offers and are they consistent enough to stay in Strip hotels for $800 or less a month?

I keep getting promo emails from RW, despite hardly having played there. So they might be a bit desperate for customers.

Fontainebleu is probably also desperate, and the Rio too.

Pretty easy to get monthly 3-4 night stays for free at sahara.

Book the cheapest room you can for 3 nights but make sure to do it direct through them after you sign up for Sahara insider.

During your stay use your player card for everything you do. Charge a couple
Meals to your room.

Throw a few hundred into slots each day.

Upon check out go to the host desk and ask if they can comp any of your room charges and tell them how much you enjoyed the property.

Take them up on the first free offer they send you and do the same thing. You’ll be locked in for free stays on a monthly basis.

I noticed that.
maybe I'll get a new TI or Sahara card, give them some play and see what materializes.
