There's a lot of ugh in these sentences. 2/5 is pretty popular, there are a lot of places that spread it. The Strip rooms are close together, if you don't like one room you can just walk over to the next room. But of course that's what a lot of people do - if one room develops a good reputation, people flock there until it evens out. A lot of the advice you get from the Internet about which room is better is just noise (like people hit one or two lucky draws and end up with double the winrate at X casino over Y casino).
So of course you can walk from a nearby hotel. Unless you've got some personal issues like refusing to pee in public bathrooms so you need to head up to your room every 2 hours, there's no huge reason to stay where you play. Even if Bellagio and Aria weren't super expensive (and just normal expensive), it would be worth considering staying at a cheaper place.
Things change if you're playing higher. Only a few rooms might spread the games you're looking for, plus, the chances of not being able to fold your winnings in half and stuff it in your pockets without making a second conspicuous bulge is a lot higher.
