Harrah’s dealer told me last night that soon Harrahs will make you play more hours to qualify for the freeroll and change the payouts so the top players make more money. Maybe they don’t want the players to chop so soon.

Why on Earth would they not want an early chop? It saves them a ton of money.

My guess is they are thinking the higher top payout structure will draw more players similar to what PH does with theirs on Sunday

Yep. Next week I'm cutting out the Flamingo hours and freeroll. Theirs takes the most time to activate (after Planet Hollywood, which I don't play) and pays out the smallest proportion of the playing pool, so it's the freeroll most likely to be a waste of time in the short term.

I'll add in some $1/$3 right away, and start taking $2/$5 shots around the NFL playoffs. IIRC the Bellagio $2/$5 max buyin is $500, which if true isn't a particularly scary number.

Ended up being short 1000 tr points for diamond so i figured id just promo it out at ballys and flamingo. After 5 hrs at ballys and 5.5 at flamingo and having two pretty good sessions despite some pretty bad games, im just gonna grind out 30 more hours at caesars palace, a place i almost never play at after finishing rest of ballys. They had a decent 2/5 game going the other night and I wanna take december pretty light with upcoming Super smash bros coming on switch and some friends visiting over the holidays.

Flamingo increased their weekly to 19k and 18 hr requirement but from what I saw, the room was packed and harrahs and ballys are likely to be better $/hr value. (Last week, harrahs only got 34 entrants which is sick value) And SJ, bellagio 2/5 is one of the few places left where the max buy in is 500 although in my opinion, i think the overall game quality at aria or venetian 2/5 nl is better.

The Harrahs freeroll I was in this morning started with either 48 or 49 and I went out 33rd ugh

They raise the hour requirement too much and they are going to lose players. Right now I think it's perfect w the 18 hours at Flamingo w chance at $1k each week and 13 hours at Harrah's with better chance at $500 each week. I'm not sure why especially Flamingo keeps messing with their promo. Hopefully they will leave it at what it is now but I've already talked with another reg who seems to think they will change it up yet again at the start of the new year. If either of these places messes w their promo's and makes it worse, I'll probably be done playing weekly promo rooms at Caesar's properties for good.

Congrats. I didnt play any poker this week so obviously didnt qualify for any freerolls. Always good to knock out a top place at the beginning of the month IMO.

Anyone cash the Ballys freeroll today? I went out quick my AK vs 22 on a K72K got it all in and then KK vs 55 all in pre 55 made a straight. At least it was quick. Took forever for them to get the tournament started.

Congrats. I have yet to reach the heights of cashing for $500. On the other hand, I think I have a formula down where I'm pretty consistently cashing for $200 or $300. Probably just jinxed myself there. Anyway, just need a break or two in the later stages to reach the promise land I'm sure it will happen for me sooner rather than later.

I am back to grinding 1/3 this week. I was short of the 25000 tier for diamond lounge next year so I've been playing the freerolls to get there. My friend has 30 hours in at Ballys for tomorrow night. Do you play more than the 10 minimum hours?

No. Chip and a chair at Bally's is fine, given the early bubble. I've been a luckbox at their freerolls and made 2 final table chops in 5 tries.
