I walked through Harrahs last night on my way to Venetian. I saw the same regs and short stacks. I don't miss grinding there.

I decided not to play in the last 60 hour free roll even though I didnt cash in The Orleans Friday tournament. Like I said previously, I think my time is better spent actually preparing for the WSOP by playing in tournaments instead of below average cash games.

It's nice to think you're going to get one of those top three places in the free roll, but in reality unless you are one of the top chip stacks, the free roll turns into a shove fest about 1 1/2 hours into the free roll. That's fine if it's just the normal, weekly free roll. But IMO it's not when you have $10k up top for 1st and 2nd.

All those Vegas promos start up again in a few days. I didn't qualify for the South Point freeroll. I got to about 48 hours and gave up. Are there any new promotions coming up that sound good?

I heard a rumor caesars is adding a promo drop in aug. Kinda don't like that really but I'll be curious to see what promos they come up with.

That's a surprise. Wonder if the new owners made that move.

Cross-posted from my HOB thread.

Planet Hollywood:

PH's freeroll requirements are 15 hours of play in a week, ending early on Sunday morning. I played 5 hours each on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Whenever I sit down, I check the little Bravo board next to the dealer to make sure that my seat is lit up, and I check again periodically throughout the session, but I don't always check my hours at the end of a given day, as there has never been a problem with my hours before.

After I finished late on Saturday night, I checked my hours and the woman behind the counter told me that I had 10, not 15. I checked my notes and told her exactly what times I had been there for the last 3 days, and she could not have cared less. She just smirked at me like I was a liar trying to get something over on her, and she told me that I'd have to take it up with the floor manager when he returned.

He came back 10 minutes later, and I stood there while he ignored me, and the counter woman did nothing to indicate to him that his assistance was needed from the guy standing in front of him; she just kept smirking at me and doing literally nothing else.

After saying 'excuse me' to him 3 times--and watching him trying to find something to pretend to do so that he could legitimately ignore me--I finally got his attention. He was absolutely the opposite of interested in helping me; told me right off the bat that there was nothing that they would do, having ripped me off for 5 hours.

I asked him on what day did they lose my 5 hours and he sighed and grudgingly checked the computer. It was Thursday on which they'd lost the hours. I remembered my seat being lit up the whole time on all 3 days, and if I hadn't been so incredulous at their attitude, and if the floor had extended any willingness to solve this problem, then I might have remembered to point out where I sat on Thursday and when, because I realize now that at the time I still remembered that information, and it might have been helpful to get to the bottom of this problem. But I didn't think to point it out at the time, as I was very much being shooshed away, even though there wasn't another customer who needed help at the time.

The freeroll is a standard $135 entry tournament, and that's free (or $5) for the regs who put in the 15 hours. So this was basically the equivalent of me cashing in a $500 rack of red chips and watching them giving me $365 for it, then having them ignoring my questions and telling me that I would only be getting $365 instead of $500 because I couldn't provide any proof that they had ripped me off, all the while treating me like I was the problem.

From the PH floor, this was absolute nut low ****-tier customer service through and through. I've lived here in Las Vegas for more than a year and I've played at every place except for the Venetian and South Point, and I've never had an experience as bad as this one.

I had just recently started planning on playing at PH regularly, so they had a solid chance at landing a steady 15-hours a week from a reg who is always nice to the tourists, but they had to be stupid, petty, cheap and lazy. I won't rake another nickel there.

Yea I'm always paranoid that I'm not clocked in right too. What I do at southpoint and orleans is check the self swipe kiosk before and after sessions, and usually snap a photo so I can remember where I'm at later.

At total rewards places I try to remember to take a screenshot of my tier score on the caesars rewards app before my session and then look after to see how many hours worth of points I earned (tier points earned / 17 = hours played). Or if the desk isn't too busy I'll just ask what I'm up to as I'm cashing out.

I haven't played at PH in years but was considering it lately since the royal room share is high. Good to know they aren't great about fixing bravo mistakes after the fact.

This is consistent with the way I was treated the last time I tried to get seated in a game a PH.

It wasn’t busy and there were plenty of seats open. I went up to the counter and waited & was ignored so I walked in and found a floor guy .. he directed me back to the counter where I was being ignored, instead of just helping me himself, so
I just left.

I can deal with a-hole players at the table bc they are usually fish but I have 0 tolerance for shitty staff people. I’m not gonna sit around a room full of miserable employees . There are too many other places to play , I’ll just go somewhere else.

Some casino employees realize that their livelihood depends on players showing up to play, and these types are appreciative of our business.

Others treat us like an inconvenience so I avoid them when possible.

These guys at PH were probably working in the pit last year, so they couldn't care less about players. They figure they are lifetime CET employees.

I check my hours after every session. My hours were short at Rio one day, but to their credit, the gal behind the desk reconstructed all my in and outs and added up my hours. She saw where they were short and fixed my record. It's kind of a crappy room because of the lack of players, but the staff has been great to me recently. Hopefully they keep up the good work and grow the room.

If there are any real grinders out there and you're playing at Golden Nugget, Binions promotion is for you.

$1,600 coin in for a $20 free play and $10 meal voucher. Takes about 15 minutes at $1 VP and however long to stand in Club Binions line. You also earn $5.33 in Binions cash (don't need to play to get it) and $10.66 in comps.

Free play is worth ~$7 after expected loss of 1620. So $7 + $5.33 cash + $10.66 comps + free meal!

Do it every day for a free $370 +$320 comps + dinner everyday per month.

Just want the meal? $400 coin in gets you that $10 voucher for ~$3.50 in expected loss which earns you $1.33 in cash and $2.66 in comps.

I'm just surprised about PH because I've had good experiences with the floors at the other mid-Strip Caesar's properties: Harrah's, Flamingo, Bally's, and Caesar's itself all do good customer service consistently. I had no reason to suspect that PH was going to be any different.

You’re right to expect better, you’re right they should be better, it’s totally a dick kick that they aren’t better because it’s a fun place to hang out and play.

They ****ed this up - I won’t play there with my limited availability because of this and I suspect other locals and regular visitors who respect you will fall in line to not give them any business.

The town is too competitive for that nonsense.

This was my same experience at PH last week. There is one floor and cashier combo on swing shift that make it seem that my presence at the desk was an inconvenience to them. I went to the podium, nobody there. Floor and cashier both standing at the desk doing nothing with a computer with the same bravo screen as the podium, I ask to be put on the list, I get a death stare saying go to the podium. I inform them there was nobody there as the brush was actually doing his job helping other customers. The floor says someone is there now, felt like he was saying F off to me. Later I see a long line at the podium and see the floor too busy scrolling through his phone to notice, let alone walk out from behind the desk. By far the worst/ laziest floor I have seen in the last 4 years in Vegas.

Where my fellow nits at?

I received 1/5 of the gift card dollars from the Caesars Christmas Wrap in 2019 compared to what I'd I'd gotten in 2018, even though my total hours were similar, so I moved to the Golden Nugget for a while and played their often-good uncapped $1/$2 game, but I didn't play often enough due to the lack of a freeroll incentive. I'm hooked on the goddamn Caesars freerolls and their ability to get me out the door.

I'm even going to give PH a 2nd chance next week, god help me.

I got booted off the caesars weekly locals gifts due to inactivity and am grinding mgm property and have about 80 hours left on southpoint. Fwiw mgm casinos 1/2, 1/3 games are infinitely better than promo games but we all already knew this.

Back when I used to go to Vegas a lot, I got a Vegas address hoping to get into the Free **** Friday program. They never did put me into it, I guess because I didn't gamble on a regular basis, i.e. every week.

How's the poker comp system over there? I don't remember it being terribly convenient.

I got it from a Matt Damon story about meeting Prince. Apparently Damon tried to make some nervous small talk with him and said, “So you live in Minnesota? I hear you live in Minnesota.” And Prince said, "I live inside my own heart, Matt Damon."

You typically have to print a voucher at the desk to use comps. Not as convenient as swiping card at place like caesars but its $2 an hour and better games without the nit grinders and mgm casinos are usually better ambiance.

It's of a piece with their 6/5 blackjack and triple zero roulette. Not that Caesar's doesn't pull the same ****, but the Venetian was the instigator.

Literally 0 reasons to ever step foot on that property. From the terrible Vegas take on Venice to everything else. At least at Paris you can get decent French pastries.
