Post on Reddit showed at least one of the casinos that re-opened in Deadwood, SD this week also opened their poker room as of last night (5/15). From what I read, the room had half of their tables open -- 4-max, 50% rake and apparently decent sized wait lists. Players sitting in seats 2, 4. 6 & 8.

That makes sense, I doubt many players would be rushing to play even if they offer it. Would you?

You underestimate the wide array of ignorance in the general population

In the beginning when I was more afraid of the virus, probably not. Now that I'm not as concerned about it with my health I would love to play 4-max.

Related question - what about just the hotels, like the big hotels like the Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, Marriott Chateau et al - are at least the HOTELS open for travellers to stay even if there's nothing to do but stay in the room?

Why visit if everything is closed? Vegas supposed to be fun place - all restrictions will destroy Vegas.

Open hotels can be found via Expedia. Gaming properties are closed for now, but MGM is talking about re-opening.

I do not know whether non-gaming properties, like the Marriott Chateau ever closed, but they are likely open going forward.

Restaurants outside the gaming hotels are opening up currently, with some offering 50% of seating likely available.

I'm going to assume this means 50% of the normal rake...

I read that Caesars is planning on starting off with reopening Caesar's Palace and a "value-oriented" property. I have to figure that rules out Cromwell and Nobu and most likely means Flamingo, Harrah's, or The Linq, but I haven't seen anything that indicates which it will be. And I guess it doesn't necessarily exclude Bally's/PH/Paris, though those seem less likely.

Does anybody have any thoughts on what the second property will be?

Probably not Bally's because they would have to wall off Paris.

Linq has the worst parking, so probably Linq.

If ever is a bit far fetched.

We need a reduction in the number of poker venues anyways. Spreading the players out so much (along with failing to make the smallest games bigger with inflation) is hurting the ecosystem.

Looks like it's going to be the Flamingo.

Like a lot of things amidst this crisis, poker as we know it in casinos is probably dead, but will get resurrected later in some other form.

Venetian poker opens today at 9am. Yesterday South Point and The Orleans both with 5 handed, they were both very busy with very long lists at The Orleans.

Has anyone been to the casino's since they reopened?

I saw the trooper vlog and a few others. Just wondering what the overall vibe was from people that went.

I did bellagio and Caesars today... it's definetely different in there, dedicated wash stations all over the casino in the bell with sinks and running water... plexiglass barriers EVERYWHERE... including at the bar. It looks terrible. The craps table is sectioned off by player and the poker rooms aren't opened for the foreseeable future. Security and police were EVERYWHERE... inforce.

I also South point this evening... what a stark contrast. South point have done NOTHING except restricted player numbers at tables and machines... not a single piece of plexiglass anywhere. The blackjack tables are three handed, and the poker room was absolutely pumping.... nearly a full house with 5/10 running and a long list for seats. Tables are five handed.

I think south point is doing it right, bellagio looks safe, but ridiculous.
