Noticed that we didn't have a thread on this. Lets fire this up to discuss any live music from your local bar, casino lounge/showroom acts to the major venue shows.

Saw a couple of classics on the cheap the last couple days and both shows were excellent. Boulder Station has the Thursday Blues for a $5 cover. There is a local opening act then Commander Cody was the headliner. Tonight caught Mitch Ryder at Golden Nugget. Tickets were comped thanks to a membership in Fill-a-Seat.

We can also use this thread to get groups together to attend a show.

Love the local cover bands you can find at various casinos...they can be quite good. And of course, we get lots and lots of fantastic concerts - I especially live the smaller venues like the Brooklyn Bowl, the pool at the Cosmo, and the House of Blues.

Sounds more like a thread for the Vegas "They're still alive?" Music Scene.

Mitch Ryder ? Did he update his one hit to 'Devil With the Blue Hair" ?
There is a reason "Fill-A-Seat" had to be engaged to give away tickets.

A Live Music Thread is a good idea, however. (There is actually a Joe Bonamassa banner ad running on this page right now. I'll click on it to encourage entertainment ads.)

I'm a big punk/ska fan and I go to as many shows as I can even though the scene out here is very weak compared to where I'm from originally and there aren't as many shows as I'd like. I know PureAggression, NorCalJew, and myself are fans as far as I know but I'm not sure if there are any more. Recent shows have included Punk Rock Bowling, US Bombs/Reagan Youth, and Rancid/Dropkick Murphy's/7 seconds.

Danzig is playing Brooklyn Bowl Sept 23rd. Saw him last year with Misfits, was pretty cool.

Chevelle playing free show at FSE Sept 30th

For the old folks like myself, here is the lineup for the Golden Nugget 52 Fridays Series.

When sales are slow I expect some seats to show up on Fill-A-Seat.

That list has a lot of acts I would not have figured were still in existence. I think Eric Burdon would still be worth seeing though.

How's the Chelsea Theatre at Cosmopolitan? A few of us are seeing Pixies there next month.

I love the Pixies and I can't wait to see them again at the Cosmopolitan. I've been to the Chelsea a few times and the standing floor area is perfect and you can get close to the stage and the sound is the perfect volume. There is one problem though. The floor shakes constantly. It's really bad and unlike any other venue I've been to (I go to a lot of concerts). Still, you kind of get used to it and there are the other positives I mentioned.

I'm kind of pissed I missed the DKM show. My old band opened for them a few times, and I just get a brand-spanking-new Showcase Showdown shirt. Those two bands were inseparable in Boston back in the late 90s.

DKM show was great. My first time at the venue. I could have done with out all the Conner fans looking for a fight but no show is perfect. Looking forward to Cake at the Chelsea.

I saw Bryan Ferry there and it was a great concert...small room...try to get floor seats...I might go to the Pixies show, as well.

DKM has appeared in town on several occasions in sync with McGregor fight dates. The time before they played for free on Fremont Street ....
which segues into Fremont Street as a venue worth checking for free concerts...

Any input on the Park Theatre @ the Monte Carlo? I've got a 3 night run coming up there in Oct. How's the sound? Security? Bars?

I started going to LV to see music (GDead shows 91-95, tons of Widespread Panic, some Rush, Roger Waters, etc since) Wish I would have picked up poker 10 years earlier...

Haven't been there yet but everything I've heard has been good.

A friend of mine switched the video screens for the last couple GD Vegas events as the original band. Got backstage for one of them and had a blast.

Descendents, Flatliners, and Pulley are playing at Brooklyn Bowl December 16th. I'll be there but $30+ for a punk show feels wrong.

Depeche Mode are at T Mobile Arena next Saturday night (September 30). Cheap seats are around $70.

REO Speedwagon are at the Orleans same night (Saturday, September 30).

Single day tickets still available for Life is Beautiful tomorrow.

I will be doing the California circuit and visiting Disneyland not so scary Halloween Haunt, otherwise I would definitely be at Depeche Mode.

I am sorry I missed Mana last weekend... I had floor tickets lined up but backed out when the I knew I was going out of town this coming weekend.

I was there for the Mayweather fight a few weeks ago. The Theatre was very nice with great seats throughout. The fight sound was excellent but I can't be sure about the sound for a concert. Drinks were extremely expensive but that could similar to all the other things that were way too expensive on fight night. Prices might be less for a concert night.
