South Point is certainly worth it on the weekends for $1/2. Especially early night/early morning...lots of action.

They also have a daily that gets a lot of action.

PH is a blast. Buy your table tequila shots for a total cost of 9 bucks and profit.

+1 I'm a Bellagio reg but on a Saturday night before the club I'm playing poker and doing shots at PH. The loud music doesn't bother me, it's the poor lighting that's annoying.

I’m surprised a couple of people mentioned South Point. I played there a few times in August and kept seeing a lot of the same locals. But that usually wasn’t during the weekend. However, they also run a lot of freerolls that encourage regulars to put in tons of hours.

South Point has a freeroll going on now and late night (10pm-midnight) count as double hours towards it so it will be filled with nitty regs. Show up at midnight and you will see them all at the cashier in a long line cashing out. The games get better once they break a few games.

Any info about Boulder station and Red Rocks during the WSOP? Will it be busier?

Red Rock poker room >>>>>>>>> Boulder station poker room, don't even waste your time going all the way out to the Boulder station (which is kind of a dump anyways)

No one ever mentions the palms. Any poker over there? They still have the ‘hot young crowd’ vibe or did Cosmo get all that business?

Palms closed the poker room several years ago. They just did some renovations and may be a bit more popular again now, but still no poker.

boulder station is the only casino spreading limit omaha high.

if you like plo but don't want to risk as much money since it tends to play kind of big, boulder station is the only place with the limit version.

Orleans also spreads 4/8 Omaha high. Usually just one table, unlike the several typically going at Boulder, but it does go most days.

Played there last night, great game (4 or more $1-2 running). However, since it was a "great game", I inevitably lost once the other rec players left before midnight and I foolishly continued to give action unilaterally.

No not at all. PH is my jam. I always stay there and mainly play at their poker room. Honestly, I enjoy the music and dancing girls. That is what Vegas is about for me. I am just a tourist so I can understand grinders hating this environment. However, for me as someone who only hits Vegas once or twice a year for a few days PH is the ****. I want bumpin music, tequila shots, and eye candy.

I just like the overall party vibe at PH. I wouldn't enjoy playing at a serious place like B or V unless I was playing in bigger games. Playing 1/2 and getting sauced is damn fun at PH.

Reading all of this stuff makes me feel like Vegas is completely reg infested.
How many regs are there in an average game?
How many of them are actually decent/good?

There are so many variables. Make sure you are there on a busy weekend. There are trade shows all the time.

Also if you can play on the weekends the games are MUCH better. Play Friday/Saturday night.

If you sit down to play at any casino on Tuesday afternoon you should be prepared to play against regs.

The night games at the Flamingo have been very good lately. The other rooms are running promos that draw more of the regs into their rooms thus leaving the Bird with some pretty "touristy" games between 11pm and 7am

Plus do have a little "Player Appreciation Tournament" each Friday for 18 hours of cash play... so a little rake back as you're filleting the fish, should you cash. Top 10 in the friday "PAT" get 1k each. avg 80ish qualifiers in april so far.

lol, anyone ever heard that reference for the Flamingo before ?

(Not to be confused with prior "bird" casinos on the Strip, like the Silverbird or Thunderbird.)

Seriously, this is POTY.
Mason should make it a sticky at the top of EVERY forum.

THIS is the Tourist perspective all Las Vegas locals need to grasp about the Strip at a minimum, if they do not already.

No, Lemonzest is not a poker neophyte or some idiot who exists for grinders' benefit. He has a different view of playing, for entertainment. If PH gives him that, good for PH. I'll give the room an occasional try.....

(As an aside, I was playing at GVR the other night, some guy offered to get Tequila shots for the table, no one accepted.)

This is why every time I'm in town, I play at PH. It's my go to poker room in town. It checks off every box for me personally, its fun, there is eye candy everywhere, lots of drunks playing, lots of action. The "room" itself isn't very nice but everything around it more than makes up for it in my opinion.
