You may be mistaking Caesars for another room. There's no promo drop at C, so there is no such promotion that I'm aware of.

I've just come back from a week there and keep an eye on these 'which is softest' threads and didn't help me one iota while I was there. Spent a lot of time playing in PH as we were staying there and found tad frustrating TBH. Went to play Bally's which was surprisingly fun but you've got to be on the older side down there. Talk about people with wide ranges as well! Ceasers was OK, I like that room as well. Ended up at Aria and had a few really good solid sessions but still far too many over valuing AK and small pockets etc

I don't think chasing a 'soft table' around added any value at all. I'd say pick a room where you like the ambience, music and people around the table. Evaluate the players at the table from the off and play to their weakness. I found that much more enjoyable and dare I say it profitable than grinding a god awful table just because it's soft.

That's my opinion anyway but I'm a decidedly average player.

Sounds like a great advice. I will start playing at caesars Palace since it's the most active 1-2 room. Maybe I will put in some 1-3 at the bellagio as well. I am also very interested in some tables with people that talk more. I like a friendly and chatty environment.

I agree with most of what's been said. Don't chase promos. Don't chase soft tables obsessively. Your own comfort at a table probably contributes more to your success, measured in happiness or $$ than finding a soft table. That said, I think changing tables or rooms whenever you feel the need is good. Table sucks? Move. Losing image? Move? Uncomfortable? Take a break and move.

Few tips for room-selection:
- 1/2 and 1/3 or not very different from each other. Rooms like PH and Flamingo may generaly have a different game going compared to Aria, Bellagio or Venetian, but this is not because of the blinds. I'd say, just find a few rooms you like and play there
- Game selection is key. Contrary to what we're used to in Holland, there's always a better game within a 5 min walk, or even better: in the same cardroom
- Get a feeling for the game, flow and rules because some things are different then you might be used to from Holland Casino. Vegas casino's have their own definition of a string-bet, people tend to like chopping blinds and gameflow is generally different then most HC games

After waiting for 6 long months I finally arrived in Las Vegas yesterday. I flew for 16 hours and I was extremely tired when I arrived. I live in an apartment when I am here and I first had to get some essentials. After that I decided to wander a bit around the neighborhood and after a couple of hours I ended up on the strip to play my first poker session. I passed the Bellagio where the famous fountain show just started en I saw loads and loads of people moving in every direction. I went to play in the Caesar's palace where I put in a decent 3-4 hour session on the 1-2. I had no tough spots the whole night, but I ended up making a full house and while doing so. Booked a nice win of 250 dollar without to much other noticeable spots. When I walked out the Caesar's Palace I looked around and I couldn't be happier. The dream is real!

Yesterday was another great day in Las Vegas. After staying awake until 2 am to get rid of my jetlag, I Suddenly woke up at 7 am. Since I rent an apartment without some much needed equipment I went of to a Wal-Mart for the first time in my life. Got to fill up my apartment with pans, a full set of plates and much more for a really cheap price. Gotta love Wal-Mart if you like to save money. After that I went on to meet dhwpersons, which apparently I had already played against in my first session in the Caesar's Palace the day before, it's a small world. We went to wander a bit around the strip and had a drink in one of the many bars in Vegas where it is hard to look a women straight in the eye because of her clothing. Had some fun talking about his experience so far and he showed me some parts in town and we grabbed a bite to eat in the New York New York.
After that it was finally time to hit the tables, 1-3 no limit in the Aria. I started out on a table where I thought everybody was pretty decent and very quiet. I tried to open up a conversation, but nobody was up for it. So I asked for a table change and got to a table where I sat down next to a Hawaiian guy that was only in the Aria for one day. I had a pretty decent session with some good solid poker and went up 200 dollars without hitting big hands and pots. After the table broke I moved to another table and that's where the fun started. There were some guys with some pretty obvious leaks and I was trying to wait for a good spot to exploit them. While doing so, I got some tough luck when the boards didn't run out in my favour. Missing flushdraw+pair combos, losing on AK4TK with AT against AJ and some other missed flops. But I was playing solid and I think I managed to keep the losses to a minimum.
After some time the table got even more fun, around 2 am there was this guy Jeremy that wanted to join the table. He was clearly drunk and wanting to have a good time. He started out by asking the dealer if he could buy the button for 5$. I really liked the New vibe that came to the table and I chatted a lot with the guy. I even started to order some coronas and red bull vodkas. After a while Jeremy thought the game needed to go faster so he offered to pay my straddle and he just put in the chips on my part of the table. I liked the gesture and accepted the straddle while saying it would be nice if he could arrange some aces with the straddle as well. With the odds not in my favour I was happily surprised to see the American airlines dealt to me and it got even better when 3 players limped in and a short stack moved over the top. It got me like 50 dollars and I decided to share some of the profit with Jeremy.
After that I had one more hand that was worth mentioning. A player that went from 50 dollars to 450 in matter of minutes and played pretty solid poker opened up to 15 in the HJ. I looked down at 56s on the button and decided to come in for a raise of 50 of a stack of 320. He called and we went to a flop of K88. Since 56s won't be winning on a showdown I decided for a 50 dollar sized bet, which he called after some deliberation. The turn was another 8, so I decided to play this hand more passively. I would check-fold, but if he checked the turn I would shove the river, since I would have checked back my value hands on this turn as well(With one pot bet remaining). He checked the turn behind, so I made my move on the river and the villain tankfolded after some minutes of thinking. I happily accepted the fold and took my well deserved chips. At 6 am the games where pretty much done and I decided to go home after a whopping profit of 43$. Today I will get the grind in again at the Caesar's Palace

24 hour Walmart can be a good thing fora quick stock-up.

He did not have a K, but, regardless, you got lucky he did not bet the turn.

Following for sure! I think you've got a great approach to your time in Vegas. Definitely keep up the pics, too! Any details about apartments/transportation would also be interesting. Are you renting close enough that you can walk to the strip, renting a car, or relying on buses/cabs/uber?

Well, I stay near the Hard Rock hotel, so actually every option is on the table. I decided to walk every day to both save money and to get relaxed after being in a session. I use the time I am walking at night to write some of the pieces in this topic and responding to friends and family back home.

So today I went to throw in another session at the Caesar's Palace, where I got started around 6 pm. I did get a pretty good table, where I had position on a couple of limpcallers who would fold an awful lot to cbets. I took a lot of small pots, but I couldn't hit in the bigger ones. Lost QQ to 45s where he committed 70% of his stack on the turn of 2462 when he spiked the 4 river. Another hand lost me 100 dollar when 5 players limped in and I found ATs in the BB. I raised it up to 22 and the UTG limper called and we went on to see a A23r flop. I did bet a small amount(15) to keep her pairs in her calling range which she did. The turn came a 9 and I went on to check to get her to bluff her remaining stack in. She did bet all in and I called pretty quickly when she turned over 99 for a turned set. Meanwhile, dhwpersons scooped the 6 pm daily and we went on to have a nice relaxing dinner at Maggianos which is located at the fashion center up north on the strip. It was definitely a terrific place to eat Italian food, which I love. Ordered an Alfredo cheese Ravioli that costed about 15 dollar. Be sure to check it out if you love Italian food. After that I went to see the Wynn & encore for the first time. The women there looked amazing, but the poker room not so much, so I went back to Caesar's Palace where I got in a game with pretty decent players and 1 maniac. In one of my first hands he opened to 15(which was a pretty normal bet in the room) in middle position. I saw JJ in the SB and I decided to flatcall (probably should have raised it). The BB completes and we see a flop of 669. I check and the action checks around. Turn is an 8 and I Bet 30 bucks. The initial raiser raised to 85 and I decided to let it go. Villain showed 1 deuce, so my nit fold got punished. After that I lost a pot to the same guy where he hit a straight on the river and I blufcatch called it down. Within 10 minutes I got a decent portion of my stack back with some well played pots. But then I got in a SB vs BTN barrel where the tight BTN player limped in. I see AQo in the SB and raise it up to 12. He then 3 bet to 50 with 80 behind. I go into the tank and after thinking a while I decided on a shove since I had a really aggressive image. The button snapcalls and we see the board run out 4564T and he shows JJ to scoop the pot. I was down around 300 at that point. I go on and change my table about 3 times in the next hours and with some good solid poker win back almost all my losses and I checked out down 5 dollars at 6 am.

It has been a while since I have posted, so I thought I go and update some things about my trip again. A lot of poker has been going on and I got into some swingy sessions. I played at the MGM Grand while they were having a great promotion where you can fill up a card during football days. You have to get 2 pair, trips, a straight, a flush and full house between 3:30 and 8:30 to get 400$. If you make it by midnight they will give you 200$. It is a nice way to spice it up en it works out really nice. I have been playing with a lot of terrible players as well. I met Tom, who arrived at a game at 5:30 am. He was playing before his wife woke up and he had an any two mentality. He coldcalled 3bets up until 50$ with j2o preflop and just played them all. There was another guy that was playing together with his wife and was there to gamble. He was raising almost any two and shoved pre with 62o with a 500$ stack, because it was his last hand before his smoking break. He actually got called by a guy with AJo and sucked out. In the end of the session he even went for the 5 in a row shoving tactic which made him shove 42o in last hand. Again, I didn't catch any good hands, so I went down in that session as well. Yesterday, I went to the Bellagio for the first time and that got me in a pretty good game. I was sitting next to a woman that was most definitely a stripper. She was looking on her phone the whole time and I did catch some professional naked pictures of her on there. I got intrigued and after that I even saw her sending heart emos to a bunch of guys which she didn't save the number of. I made 470 I the session and got my downswing to turn up again. Currently I am up around 600 for the trip, which is fine, But could have been better since I was up 1200 after 5 days of play. I play decent poker, But I still make some mistakes adjusting to tight live players and call it off to loosely against value heavy ranges. I'm still in my first 2 weeks over here, so I am convinced that it will get better though. Played an awful lot at the Caesar's, But I'm in to play more at the Bellagio from now on. MASSIVE HEATER:
So another couple days of delight went my way this weekend. As I've already posted I was in a Bellagio game Thursday where I was sitting next to the Russian stripper, but I didn't mention the fight I got in with her, so I owe you the full story as well. Along with that I had a massive heater on the 1-2 and 1-3 games this weekend. So here are my stories of the past weekend:

Thursday made me sit in a bellagio 1-3 game next to a Russian lady that was living in Vegas. She had boobs that were pretty much the same size as the Circus Circus casino. She was using her phone a lot and she didn't even try to hide the content she was looking at. She was looking at her own naked pictures while texting to unknown contacts that all sent a lot of heart emoticons which she responded to by sending them back. At first I was talking to her in a friendly manner and got to chat about living in Vegas and playing poker. After a while I apparently did something wrong, since I did manage to piss her off by stating: "you've got to fold pocket sevens" when the board ran out JJ63A while I was holding AJ when she folded to my river bet. She raised her voice and stated: "I don't like you saying what you have. Show the cards, don't talk like that to me". Apparantly she thought I was talking about bluffing with 77 and i was trashtalking. I got in a little fight with her later on when I showed my aces in a 3-way all in. She thought there was still action and shouted at me: "you are not to be allowed to show cards open" with a very Russian heavy accent.
Since there was no action left and I was correct in opening them on the flop I responded calmly saying she didn't need to be stressed when I won a big pot and that it was clear she didn't cope with that very well. That didn't work out the way I had in mind since she didn't take it very lightly. She tried to put the blame on me saying that I was the one that was upset. I reacted by saying I shouldn't be upset when I just won a big pot which made her tilt very badly. She screamed with a very loud voice across the full poker room: "wow, you're so cool winning 600 dollar. You are such an amazing guy. Everybody, this guy is sooooo rich!" While pointing at me. Everybody in the room looked at us, but I didn't care for a single bit. Me not caring made her even angrier and she asked the dealer to call the floor so they could tell me not to talk to her. At that point I actually thought it was very amusing and I told the dealer to tell her that I was not mad at her and I would accept an apology if she was ready to apologize. I did know that wasn't the correct way to handle the situation, but I wasn't there just to let her insult me, so I took the opportunity to have some fun with it. Quickly after I decided to be the bigger man and I left the table to play somewhere else.

All in all it wasn't the stripper experience I thought I would have when I came to this city, but at least it was an original one.

Friday got me in a pretty good game in the Bellagio where I had to make some hard decisions in big pots. One older Asian guy that played pretty aggressive raised my cbet in a raised pot when I was holding AT on a KT3ss board. I flatted and the turn was an offsuit A. He jammed for around 1.5 times the pot and I had a read on him that he would bet his value hands smaller, enticing calls. I made the call and after a river blank he showed A8s for the missed flushdraw along top pair. Played some decent poker during the session and went up around 640$. I decided to take my winnings and head over to the Caesar's. I got in a great game where everybody had lots of fun while drinking coronas and shots and we had an amazingly good time. There was one guy that was just the best Santa Clause look a like ever. There was a fish that was very fun to play with and called of every hand. Also there was a maniac Armenian guy and 2 good looking girls. As I already mentioned, an amazing game. This went on up until 7 In the morning and got me up 500$. Had some luck winning preflop all in for 300$ against a mucked hand with AKs on a K47K6 board. since he did not react at all I suppose he had AQ or something like that. Saturday got a little boring in the session with nothing good to mention except for a decent 400$ profit. I had some flop and turn all ins where i had to make a decision though. I called a 100$ stack that donkshoved in a 5-way 70$ pot with ATs on AQ3 with a backdoor flush draw. He had KQo and he didn't improve on turn and river.
After a couple of hours I sat down at another table where I was playing really aggressive, while also getting good cards.
I ended up in a pot where I held QJ on a Q73ss board. He shoved 150$ when I raised his donkbet and I Called off the remaining 100$ I had to put in. The board ran out with 2 more hearts of which one was a K, but he mucked when I reluctantly showed my QJ.
2 hands later I held KJo on the BTN in a pot where the CO opened and the blinds completed as well. Flop was JT6ss and it checked to me. I did bet 70% pot and the same guy as in the QJ hand called. Turn was a 5 which made the board double suited. He donkjammed for 2x pot and I went in the tank. I didn't think he had JTo since he would have raised the flop given his aggression. The 5 wasn't a card he would have likely hit in his range with J5, T5, 65 or even 55. AJo or a set was a possibility, but I thought he would have raised or donkbet his sets on the flop as well. So it was AJo, a strange 2 pair, a very strangely slowplayed set, even QJo given that he jammed with less then that in the previous hand as well or a bluff which was more then reasonable. After some minutes of deliberation I decided the call was +ev and I put in the chips. The board bricked out and he stated he had a 6, which made me scoop this pot as well. After that I played some more hands and I cashed out after a while.

Over the past 2 weeks I really got to know Chris, one of the dealers in the Caesar's, and I'm actually going to stay at his apartment for the rest of my trip. Since the game Saturday got really boring we decided to head home to play some Open faced Chinese at his place and I ended up beating him for 76 points at a friendly rate of 0.25$ per point.

On Sunday it was time to play at the MGM with the football card promotion in play. It's a really good promotion to play and a lot of people can be punished for chasing their rewards. I did hit a few good pots and I hit the promotion for a sweet extra 200$ payout. Cashed out at a 484$ profit and went to eat some taco bell with 2 girls that I've met at the poker table in the Friday night game. They actually do live in Vegas and they play a lot at the weekends in Caesar's. They are on the picture below as well. Later that night Chris got off work early and we decided to play some poker outside Caesar's, since he is not allowed to play there. We went to Venetian, where I played for 30 minutes when he told me the game was terrible and we should check out Harrahs. I actually didn't want to change casinos again, but I joined him as a friendly gesture. Best room change ever. We got into Harrahs where there was a 1-2 game with several stacks above 800$. I needed to watch 2 hands to see what was going on. One guy opened 27$ In the HJ, bet 80$ on the flop and shoved his remaining 250$ the turn and got snapcalled by KK on a J36J board. He instant mucked and was on full tilt. He left the table and made an illegal table change which every player at the other table accepted very willingly. He was definitely the biggest whale I've ever seen and I asked the guy sitting next to me that it was sick he played this way while opening 27 preflop in a 1-2 game. The guy told me that was nothing and that he went all in for 500$ preflop with 34o and 58o while bombing every single flop and turn. He said he called off with 3rd pair, since he literally bombed everything and already managed to lose 7 buy ins in under 2 hours. I immediately asked for a table change and got it in 1 minute. Chris was at the other table as well and said that this was the best whale he had seen in a very long while. I got AA the 3rd hand I sat down and after 3 limpers, limped in behind in the HJ since the whale was in de BB. He made it 50 and got snapcalled by the UTG(a terrible player as well). I decided to raise it up to 150 and the maniac snapcalled while the UTG made the fold. Flop was KQ5ss and unfortunately the whale didn't bomb the flop and folded to my cbet. Still a 200 dollar profit in that hand though. After that I lost some pots since I didn't hit and the whale calmed down a little bit. He managed to get paid with trips and 2 pair and got up to a 1100 stack. He unfortunately lost it all to some other players and left the room, going down 4K in 3 hours of 1-2. 3 players immediately left as well and I decided to stay since the UTG player in my AA hand was terrible as well and got an 800 stack. I managed to take 150 of his chips and then I got in a sick pot with him. 500$ deep i limped behind in de SB holding A3o. The flop was AK3r and I made the donkbet pretty big. The fish snapcalled and the turn was another A. I did bet 25 in a 30$ pot and he minraised to 50. I made it 100 and he made it 150$. I decided to shove my 350$behind and he was tanking a bit. A lot of talking was going on at this table and there were some strange split pots before. My friend helped me by stating an A would probably split anyways, since he put me on at least a boat or AQ. Not really poker etiquette, but the fish wasn't good at that as well, trashtalking a lot. He made the call and showed A4o. Unfortunately the river brought the K and we had to split the 1100$ pot. That wasn't a good thing, but well. **** happens. I got out with a profit of 285$, so can't complain either. It was a great weekend, will let you know more later on!
