The next day, we bricked another 400 daily. But I got to eat one of my fav dish while playing, so it was still an okay day.

We got short, shoved pre with aj, got called by a10. We flopped a J, but he ran a straight. It stunk, but you know, variance could be a ***** some days.

Now it is 6/12. 1600 mspt. Got up very late, and no time for breakfast. Three coffee later, I started shaking when I handled chips. They must have thought I was nervous.

It was finally dinner break. I went to noodles asia. Sat down and ordered some fried rice. Figured it would be quick, but nooooo. The people sat down way after me already got their food, but I was still sitting there literally staring at the kitchen, while trying not to faint; while everything around me was spinning.

30 long mins later, there was still no food.

That was enough I decided.

I don't remember how I walked all the way back to the palazzo, where the tournament was held. I don't remember how I handled the next hour or two. I remembered I had some gum in my purse, So I ate that, got a little sugar out of it. So I felt like a super hero with all the energy for about 5 min. Then I was back to trying to use all my inner power not to faint.

Someone mentioned there was a shop nearby. half a bag of m&ms later, I was back to life.

In the end of the night, I bagged a glorious 2.5 bb heading into day 2.

Absolutely no high expectation. But I have cashed tourneys before with a less than 10 bb bag. So here we are. Trying to find a few double ups and squeeze in that 3300ish mincash.

But in the end we busted about 60 off money. All you could do is to give your best.

The grind didn't stop though. I walked to the wynn right away, bought into the 400 daily.
Hours later, we made final table, out of 302 players.
But we were out 9th. Shoved short stack with ajo and ran into ak.

i dont see this going away, and becoming worse and worse as time goes on thanks to all the training sites giving the aspiring "poker pros" ranges to memorize.

yeah it somewhat had turned the game a bit robotic, but the social/live read and interaction aspect of the game will never go away.

Thank you for the support. I had cut the second trip short and back home in ohio early. Now it is time to write more. Another spoiler alert: We did okay in the second trip and was not far away from an amazing score at the Wynn 1600. I know..it felt like I just had to hold those 70/30 60/40 spots but it was still further than it seemed.

Okay, so we took 9th in that Wynn 400 after busting day 2 of the MSPT Venetian. It healed the broken heart a little bit. The next day, we were back to battle! Played another Wynn 400. (I can't lie, I just have to eat more drunken noodles from wazuzu at the table there.) Didn't do any good, but met a cool Korean lady who is some kind of neuro scientist from NY. We talked about all kinds of stuff, in fact, the next day she was at my table again, and almost the whole table got into some deep scientific/philosophical discussion about all kinds of drugs. And she was THE boss! Knowledgeable, insightful, educational. One of the most amazing thing about poker is that you meet people from all walks of life. It doesn't matter if it was a multi millionaire (Sorry Mr Morgan for the cooler at the mspt a few days prior), or someone fresh out of jail, or this Korean lady. You learn little things, share little things, and when they all add up, it just makes the whole experience a billion times more fun.

But wait, even tho we are now out of the Wynn game, the night is still young, and..it is Vegas!

I walked outside, grabbed a cab, and headed to the world famous South Point casino.

Before we head there, here are some random pics at the Wynn

My pleasure, thanks for reading!

From a distance, Southpoint looked a little like the Trump tower. The golden color and cheesy decoration was not my cup of tea. Though over the days at the tables, I have heard good things about the tournaments there. They run a 250 nightly with a 50k gtd. Pretty amazing value. It was 30k starting stack and 30 min lvls for a while, but it kept going til 7 am the next day. People complained, so they changed it to 25k 20/30 of more of a turbo structure during the late reg period.

We sat down. Didn't play a hand for a few orbits. Wanted to observe the table and players for a bit.

People seemed friendly. A lot of them seemed to be locals. Some know each other and told bad beat stories. "My qq got cracked by A10! Can you believe that?" Always good to hear such things at the tables.

Then an older man got beat in a big pot and had only a few big blinds left. So he shoved all in the next 3 hands.

After the 3rd time, the gentleman sitting to his right got angry, started rambling.."that ain't cool!" "You can't keep doing that!" "You stole my blinds!"

One would guess he was joking, but..no.

Then I decided it was time to play some poker.

Suited q from middle position. Okay let's go. I raised 2.5 bb. button and bb both called. Bb is the aforementioned gentleman that got mad earlier.

Flop came 953cc. Bb led out for a min bet. Odd indeed. I raised to 3.5x his bet, even tho I completed whiffed the flop. Button folded. Bb called very quickly.

Turn came an off suit 4.

Rather than punting off more chips so early, in a seemingly soft field, I decided to shut down. Board is way better for his range. So I checked back after he quickly checked.

River was probably another 3. I can't remember. He checks. I checked back, for the same reasons.

He flips over 10,2cc, for a missed flush draw. I showed my q high, and won the pot.

He soon turned his confusion into anger. "That was the most donkey play I've seen in my life!"

I ran cold after it was down to three tables. Out 20th place for a small cash. Was still happy that it way covered the ridiculous 38 dollar cab ride from the strip.

And someone who I play a ton of pokerstars home game turned out to be in the same tourney. And I may or may not have sat by him for a few hands. We didn't know til the next day. World is such a small place!

In all, our debut at the South point wasn't too shabby. We got a litt taste of the Vegas locals' poker scene. Fun oh fun to say the least.

Great TR!!! Really enjoying your hand breakdowns and the lovely pictures. I love playing tournaments in Vegas and seeing the Wynn poker room pics with the drunken noodles brought me back to 2019, last time I was in Vegas.

Appreciate it! I am glad ya'll are enjoying it!

Now it is 6/15. My return flight is at 6 o'clock the next morning. As much as I'd like to go to bed before 8, how could I not play another tourney?? So Wynn 400, here I come.

I was dabating playing the Venetian 1100 two day event for a bit. Gtd was 300k but they crushed it a few days ago in a similar tourney. It was day 1b. I figured if I made day two I'd change flight to a night one. At this point I was staying at NY NY. Ubered to the Palazzo, looked at the tourney clock, only 89 entries. Glanced the field, saw a bunch of notable pros. So Wynn it is!

I only took one backpack, so I didn't have enough hoodie/outside clothes to change into any more at that point of the trip..but I had plenty of clean tshirt still. So.....it was a 3 tshirt kind of day!
