Hi, all, I go to Vegas for poker a few times a year (mostly tournaments) and always want to document it to share with people and maybe encourage more to book a little poker vacation for themselves; or to ride along and have a little fun reading my stories when they are too occupied with jobs and family; or, just for myself to look back later in life. But it usually gets busy out there so I never did. But I am planning on writing about it this year for a few summer trips and possibly later in the year during the wsop. But I do have a few questions!

1. Does trip report have to be written while I am there? I just got back from the first trip this year and obv didn't start a thread til now.

2. I am not a native speaker so my English is prob broken at times. Will anyone read it?

3. I did not take a shoe pic during my trip. Was it acceptable?

Either way, I'm posting some pics first, enjoy!

First time staying at the Encore and it was lovely. The prime rib burger was my guilty pleasure the entire trip. Hey at least I was eating with a green juice on the side.

Your English is fine. You can write your TR any time you want. Pictures are great. I will read it. You can take a picture of your shoes now and lie to us. :-).

Yes POOH! Let's get more from this trip report.

1) Maybe you can re-create the bankroll and shoe pic

2) order a greyhound if you are still there - corona could also be acceptable

3) Post lots of pics!

I agree, any type of write up or pictures of a trip are always welcome. It does not matter if you do a report during or after your trip. If doing during your trip you will get more back and forth and interaction with others in the thread, but plenty of people will still read and enjoy a post trip summary.

6/5/2021 First stop, Harrah's.

There's nothing fancy about Harrah's, but I like staying there. The elevators are very close to the uber pick up/dropoff/hotel lobby. If I need to go anywhere during the stay, I don't need to walk thru the casino floor to inhale all the cigarette smells. It is also walking distance to the Venetian and the Wynn, where I am going to play most of my poker this trip.

Check in was quick and easy. We have arrived at our first room in Vegas! (We will be doing some hotel hopping this trip to cut cost.)

Dinner from Fulton street. Eating combination noodle soup while grinding some Stars home game.

"I want him to think that I am pondering a call, but all I'm really thinkin' about is Vegas and the ****in' Mirage."

In the year 2021, Mirage is no longer about poker, for me when I think about it, I think about the cirque show Love. Amazing performance. I highly recommend it. But this trip is all about poker. No show, no booze, no roller coasters. Let's play some poker.

First tourney turned out to be very uneventful. Table was solid. I went card dead for levels, finally saw aq suited on the button with little under 15 big blinds. Shove--sb tanked for a bit and folded--bb snap calls with kqo. Sb excitedly informed me that he folded kq also. But...k on the river. GG.

I'm in! This sounds as if it's going to be fun. Your English is quite good, so no worries there

Can't see the last two pics, but others are great -- keep them coming. I cannot wait to get back to Vegas, but nothing planned until the fall.

In the trip report Hall of Fame (top of the forum) you can find a link to the famous trip report about the origination of the Greyhound - cliffs: guy was down to the felt on his trip roll, ordered a greyhound and went on a heater.

Day 1 passed by very quickly. The next three days I grinded three flights at the Wynn for the 600 250k gtd. Busted not long before bagging first two flights, and ran ak into 99 on aj9 board early on in the third flight. Didn't even bother buying back in. First four tourneys of the trip later, it became sorta stressful..LONG days, but no bag, no cash, no celebration.

But there was good food. At least.

But I was determined to turn things around. The next day, day 5 of the trip, I got my first cash of the summer.

It was a survivor tournament. If you know me at all, you'd know I strongly dislike bounty tournaments. When I win those, I usually only have 1-2 kos while the second or third place tend to have 10 or 20 lol. Survivor tourneys are probably my second to least fav right behind bounties. And since this was a big bubble, 19th for 5k, 20th for 3800, 21st for absolutely zero dollars. When it got down to 40ish players, play slowed down greatly. People are all tightened up. It was probably the most stressful and intense tourney I had played, including the main event that I have played once.

It wasn't easy. Especially after bricking 4 tourneys in the trip already. But by the end of the night, we survived. One thing tho, I would not play that tournament any time soon!

Tournament poker could be so brutal some days. It is a long grind. It is all about precision, proper execution at the right time, focus, and keeping your mind as strong and calm as possible when cards do not go your way. But even when you play perfectly, when variance isn't on your side, you still don't have any result to show. But we have to believe, as firmly as our mind can possibly handle, that by the end of the day, as long as we prepare ourselves the best we can before going on that battle field, the win will come. Often times, it takes a few tries to get that one glorious win. Sometimes it takes way longer. But when it comes, it makes all the effort worth it.
