A few years back did a trip report for my 40th with some high school and college buddies. It is a PITA to do a trip report with 7 other dudes (along with all the hookers, blow, hangovers).

I kept up with it for a couple days but drinking for 9 hours in Harrah's Diamond club on day 3 with a guy nicknamed IRON LIVER kinda wiped out the rest of the trip. Also those guys weren't poker players so we spent most of our time in clubs, the pit, boozing, and staying ahead of the po-po all over Vegas. 5 years later ... wiser, older, and with older kids, I'm going alone for some poker, food, and career decompress...

Poker background ... cashed in WSOP daily last year (37th of 1200+), cashed a circuit PLO event in southeast (13th of 187), and finished second in a WSOP main event league (10 solid players, 10 month sit and go) in May this year. Generally TAG and will pick LAG spots until the 8th Corona or Bourbon or whatever the flavor of the day is ... May play the Monster Stack event on Friday though I have a client meeting Monday morning for a successful consulting business that I run so will play by ear based on how early the booze is flowing Friday. Definitely playing a 1-2 day tourney or two at WSOP, Venetian, Wynn, etc.

Staying at Marriott just off strip (usually stay at Hilton Elara attached to Planet Hollywood) as I like quiet, smoke free space for sleep ... somewhat a foodie though my gotos are Hash House, Bon Ami, Mizuko (Wynn Sushi), and In and Out. Though I'll probably branch out on this trip as I go to Vegas 2-3x per year for work.

Being solo without other dudes or wife to entertain ... hopefully I'll provide some entertainment on here ...

Leaving in about 12 hours .... so shoes and roll (baseball parlay from last summer work trip... yes there will be updates from baseball bets and some horses along with poker) ...

People watching in Vegas is great so there's that.

Card dead. Down 5 Coronas ... about 50 shekels. Only interesting hand was a post oak bluff with top 2 induced a raise to a re-raise to a call. Villain mucked so no read. I had AJ hit J turn, A river, gutter straight if he had KQ but figured that was not case on called re-raise and muck. Figure A-10 with 10 on flop so I'd caught up ... only playable hand of hour or so

BB - Check. Hero - bets 95. BB thinks, calls and turns over 9s9d.

Wasn't expecting the call as card dead as I've been but recent player so maybe bet size was off ...

So probably hit the Corona a bit hard to play 12 hours of poker today. Never met up with buddy so gonna degen downtown with him ... possibly play an event at nugget with plan to play 2nd flight of monster tomorrow.
