I love biscuits and gravy and wanted something that would stick with me since I probably won't eat anything other than a small before I bust out of the Wynn tourney today.

HA! I'm not the only old man here that doesn't think coffee shop means Starbucks!

Because of the tourney I had no dinner plan or even idea. I was hungry and decided to try someplace in the TI for an early dinner. Being Saturday just walking in at prime time means long waits. Last night at Grimaldis it was a 45 minute wait for a table but I was able to get right in at the bar. Anyway I went to Senoir Frog a Mexican place. This is why I always go back to the same places because this place sucked. I got the Carne asada burrito and it was mediocre at best. And the atmosphere was even worse. The have a dj playing crappy music extremely loudly. Annoyingly loudly as you vibrate with the bass. Needless to say I won't be going back
I always got the impression that place was for 21 year olds that like tequila.

South Point has a good Mexican place(good chimichangas), but inconvenient without a car. It does have a busy poker room too, so if you decide to give it a try, check their hours first. They're closed on Monday I think.

Sorry no. I had the bone in ribeye, steak fries and 3 Abita Amber's and it was spectacular! I have eaten there many times and is always awesome.

In other news the heater I was on is over! I played a couple of hours after dinner and I couldn't get anything going at all. A combination of bad cards and bad situations left me losing $97. My best hand was AK suited in late position. I raise to 15 and get 2 callers. Flop A46 with 2 diamonds (I have hearts). First guy bets 75 and next guy goes all in for about 200. I feel pretty sure my top pair is no good and fold. First guy had AQ diamonds and rivered flush other guy said he had 2 pair. I won a few small ones but never had a chance with the ways played out.

The actual name of the place is The Coffee Shop. But yeah I always refer to the diner type place at a hotel as the coffee shop.

Up early today catching up on any questions I missed. Grimaldis is on the shops level on the Palazzo side, I'm guessing over the Palazzo casino under the tower. I had green pepper and onion.

I went there once with a load of two plus two ers from the llsnl chat thread when we had a WSOP meet up one year. Was load, tacky and kind of fun in a low rent way and it certainly got us all going. But we were doing shots and people watching. The crowd wasn’t super young tbh. Just tacky. We got drunk enough that BigSkip left his wallet there and we got a limo to the Strip Club. Was out with Bluegrassplayer til about 8

Can’t imagine eating at Senor Frogs

Did a ton of walking in pre breakfast doing just shy of 7 miles. It's kind of drizzly out today so I just did laps through V/P. Even went all the way back though the convention area. That place is frikken huge! My morning bubble craps session reminded me why bubble craps might not be a career option Point 7 point 7 point 7 and I was down to just $4 in record time so I took my 4 bucks and walked more. I'm still up pretty good on the craps/baccarat though. It's a much better option than sliding money into slot machines for a time waster.

Anyway I gotta start thing about working off all of the unhealthy food I have consumed this week. No more fancy meals, today's eating plan is sustenance hopefully healthy. Breakfast was oatmeal at the TI and it was good.

Now gonna head down to fitness center and try to get a good sweat going. Last day so I won't do anything crazy today. Hope to just leatherass cash all day.

Also had to do some severe wallet maintenance. A week in Vegas and you end with a wallet overstuffed with various small bills. I could barely close it. I took 500 in 20s and 100 in 1s and 5s down to the cashier and traded them for 100s.

Mr B....my humble opinion....you have the rest of the year to get back to healthy and conservative eating. One more day in Vegas and you've already walked 7 miles and gone to the gym

treat yourself to something nice tonight and worry about the rest tomorrow

Getting ready to leave for airport. Played a marathon session yesterday and then just crashed. It was my worst poker session of the trip. I lost my 300 buy in and at that point called it a trip and crashed. I was exhausted a d slept better and longer thar maybe ever in my life.

I has 2 brutal hands that did me in but there was a nice surprise too. The V has this high hand promo every half hour where the high hand draws an envelope worth from 150 to 25000. But the 1000 envelope also pays everyone at the table 200 and a guy at my table drew that so we all got the 200 bonus. Just more to lose in my case.

My 2 killer hands were losing half of my stack with a top pair open ended straight and flush draw which missed against a made straight. The other half went on a set of aces versus a straight. I thought about rebuking last day and a but played a long time and decided to just call it as I was so tired. I just grabbed a snack and slept for hours.

Will be home this afternoon and write up a proper recap on an actual keyboard.

I made it home safe and sound and have a suitcase full of dirty clothes in the washing machine Thanks again to all who followed along. I enjoy doing these reports and it gives me something to do in my Vegas downtime. Not being a 24/7 action guy I have plenty of downtime. I know my reports are all pretty much the same even with the food choices but whatta you gonna do?

I had a great trip and LV is always a wonderful way to break up a dismal Chicago winter. The weather was fabulous for a few days and rainy and gloomy a few days. Still better than Chicago I even hit the jackpot on the flight home. First plane ride I have had in seemingly years that wasn't totally booked and I ended up in the first row aisle bulkhead with no one sitting next to me. As far as Southwest goes thats first class!

Treasure Island
As I said this was my first time staying there. It's nothing special nor is it a nightmare. If all you want is a bed and shower and easy access to a poker room it fits the bill. The walk from my room at the TI to the Venetian poker room isn't really much further than the walk from a room at the Palazzo to the Venetian poker room. The Wynn is reasonable and even Caesars isn't too bad. Bellegio and Aria are more of a trek. But for me that fine because I kile walking although I didn't spend as much time down at theat end of the strip. I probably would have as the weather was either spectacular (65 and sunny) or sketchy (50 and rainy) seemingly every other day. Walking out of the Venetian casino into the TI casino is like night and day. The loud, bright and busy Venetian to the dark, quiet, empty TI. TI is basically a low roller slot machine joint. They have a few table games but seem empty or closed most of the time. They have leaned into the cheaper to run stadium concept. Stadium, craps, blackjack, roulette, and even stadium 3 card poker.

Poker
The games were pretty good for the most part. I played mostly at the Venetian for the convience aspect and only played cash the Aria and Caesars othe than the V. I did okay in cash buth nothing spectacular. That last cash session was the only time I got felted. I played for about 7 hours and basically treaded water for the most part and was done in by the 2 hands mentioned above. Once February hit for the mystery high hand bonus (it was 200 in Jan) all the locals were buzzing about the chance to hit that 25K. Somebody hit it on Sunday but they will be adding another 25K next week. Also all the bonuses will double on Superbowl Sunday. So if you would rather grind poker with a bunch of grumpy locals than watch the superbowl you could win 50K. I was just glad to get a piece of that bonus money after watching 2 bucks slide down that bonus shoot every hand. There was one grumpy old rock at our table when it hit and he didn't play another hand. It took about 30 minutes to get paid and he just walked around the table, missed 2 blinds and was outta there like a bat out of hell when he got those 2 black chips

I probably had a reasonable run of hands at cash but was totally card dead in the tournies. I did have an okay run at the Aria tourny but the situation never seemed to work out. The Wynn tournies though I never stood a chance. I just had absolutely no real playable cards or situations. Especially the last one. It was torture. All that said I still prefer tourny play to cash. I enjoy both but prefer a good structure tourney, turbo donkaments not so much.

Gambling
I didn't gamble a whole lot because I know it is a losing proposition but the little I did went surprisingly well. My style is strictly low roller hit and run techniques. If you get up take the money and run no matter how small. If you keep playing they WILL get it back I did stay away for the money sucking slot machines other than to 20 I slid in to get my "free" 5 dollars from the TI. At bubble craps and stadium bacarrat you have a chance as long as you don't overstay your welcome. It's tempting though. Once you get all those craps bets pressed up you want to get to that position again. But I know from painful experience that it probably aint gonna happen anytime soon.

Results
My results were pretty much meh. Which really isn't so bad. If I can win a bunch thats great! If I can avoid losing a bunch thats pretty great too. And that is basically what happened. I had a great trip, got to scratch my poker itch, and eat some spectacular meals.

So I didn't exactly break Vegas But I enjoyed it but am happy to be home. 7 days may be a bit too long for my taste and style. But I only have another month of Chicago winter in front of me know and this trip was a good way to break it up. Usually I go for 5 days and that is pretty much perfect for me. I will probably go back in May as thats my favorite time to go for the weather.

So thanks again for following along on my low roller mediocre poker adventures.

Too bad you didn't see it way back when. The poker room always seemed to be fun, until the last couple years when it was just a promo grinder's room. In it's original location they had the best drink service in Vegas because a bar was literally right next to the poker room, and the waitresses were as hot as any. Steve Wynn built the place, after all. They were the only hotel I knew of that had Molson beer.

How does that work? What if you win your first bet?

Its the series. In craps its once the shooter 7s out and in bacarrat its once the run ends. My bacarrat system is pretty simple. Bet the min ($10) on the banker. If that bet wins then bet $15 and just keep adding $5 each hand until the banker loses. Basically you are betting on a run of banker wins in a row,

If the dice and cards are choppy I won't leave with a tiny win but will give them a chance to get a satisfying roll or run of cards. Once a reasonable roll or run happens I will cut and run even if still stuck.

I never really spent much time in TI back in olden times although I remember it was different. A lot more pirate type motif and I remeber playing a small donkament there once but it was never a place I felt I needed to play at back in the day.

Thanks for the report. Glad you had fun and ended up.

I won two tourneys at the TI (chopped one with my husband, but I was crushing him) and came in third in another -- in a day or two (~36 players each), so I really miss their poker room!
