Enjoying your posts, good TR so far. Sorry about the rain but at least it’s not a cold winter this year!

Grand Lux has the funniest late night/early morning crowd. You usually get entertainment with the food in some way - I’ve seen waiters scream at customers, couples fighting, random groups of college guys get into it, and once a woman slap the man with her and try to run off with some of his (gambling) chips.

Just bought my ticket for Aria 1pm. 240 entry, 20k chips and 20 min levels. I have had good luck in the past here so I hope that holds! On the way over I stopped atcaesars and played for about an hour. Totally card dead. I won the blinds once on raise with AK. That was it, got involved in few hands where I missed badly. Lost $54. Wasn't really hungry enough to eat but did grab a piece of milk bar pie at Cosmo. That stuff is awesome!

First break 31.8k from 20k start. Won a total of 2 hands and maybe played 5 or 6. Card deafness is real but the 2 I won were very good. Small turnout

Busted out in 10th. Went on a nice little run after the break with consecutive hands of 88 AA. Got a couple of steals off too. But the card deadness and lack of good situational spots did me in. Once I got down to 45k I was just looking for any spot to shove. I took it 2000/2000/1000 5hsnded. I was bb with one limper. I had 910 off and he called with AK. I was down to35k at that point and had to make a move. I played as well as I could though unlike yesterday.

Sitting at a bar now with food ordered. I am famished!

Nice win.

Looking around the net I found it funny how many people were surprised by Powell. He and all the governors have been saying 2%, 2% every time they talk. Yet PCE, CPI, and all that keep indicating 3%. Then everyone seemed surprised when he said no cut in March.

I will admit it was awesome and definitely something I would repeat.
You didn't check Cheesecake Factory? I think they have different menus.

There was some drama at the Grand Lux too. Two very street ho looking hookers sat down in the booth across from me. All of a sudden 2 security guards and a manager type came over wanting to see their ID. They didn't want to show an ID and the bickered for about 5 minutes before the security guys escorted them out. It was breakfast and a show .
Nice!

It's been a a long day! Just got back to the room and am drinking a Miller lite tall boy. Maybe not a good idea since I have already had 8 or 9 beers But if you can't drink a bunch of beer on Friday night in Vegas when can you?

I feel Iike I have officially entered "Vegas mode". When I left off I said I was in a bar waiting on food. The bar in question as Grimaldis at the V. I love Grimaldis and almostt always find a way to eat there every trip. The cheese in their Calzones is unique and awesome. Their pizza is good but their Calzones are unparalleled.

After wolfing that down and washing it down with 3 beers I headed straight to the V poker room for some cash. I immediately started quaffing beers while I played. They say you shouldn't drink and play but I think I played really good. The cards didn't always cooperate but I wasn't playing drunk crazy but just loosely confident. I made one great lay down. I flopped an open ended straight (K10s) and was firing, I turned the straight and was firing, but the river paired the jack and gave 3 diamonds. As Townes Van Zandt would say "the outlaw jack of diamonds who called no man his friend". I hated the pair but despised the diamond. I checked he bet 105 and I said hell no! I was afraid more of the diamond but he made a boat and I folded my straight. My best hand was pocket 2s on a KK2 flop. The guy with the K paid but 2's are the hand of the month for Feb so is I could have hits quads it is a big bonus.

Anyway I played for about 3 hours and felt on the edge of greatness the whole time but just couldn't get that heater going. My peak was up about 120 but I could just never break through to real glory. All the beer was making me need to piss too much so I finally racked up only up $63. Maybe it was the beer but I felt like I should have run that table over.

The way I feel about the way I played the tourney today I think I will do well tomorrow at the Wynn. I just need a reasonable distribution of cards.

I always drink wine/champagne while I play poker! I know it loosens me up a bit, and the other players think I'm getting drunk, so I can use it to my advantage They just don't realize some women can drink two bottles of wine w/o getting even tipsy!

Well done at the V. Run good in the next tourney. Gotta get lucky those one or two hands.

Finally slept to a reasonable time and didn't get up until after 7. Finally I didn't have to be the old man wandering around the casino waiting for breakfast places to open. I decided to try the coffee shop at TI today. It pretty good and has a decent menu. I decided to go with biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs. I love biscuits and gravy and wanted something that would stick with me since I probably won't eat anything other than a small before I bust out of the Wynn tourney today.

Back in the days of breakfast buffets my goto move was to have an omlette made and then load the plate with biscuits, bacon, sausage, hash browns and then cover the whole thing with sausage gravy. Probably not real healthy

Probably try to play some pre tourney cash.

Heading over to Wynn now. Played about an hour at V. Won a few lost a few Ancaster out down 32. It wasn't a very compelling game. I decided I should walk around for a while since I did t do my morning hike.

Good luck MrB and I’m enjoying your TR as always.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve stayed at the V 4 times and I don’t remember even seeing Grimaldis - where is it?

Also, what did you have in the Calzone?

Uhg! Tourney was another shitshow. I went out the last hand before the first break more out of frustration than anything else. Won a small pot early with KQ on a top pair. Got the blinds twice with position raises and that was it. My best hand the whole 2 hours was probably 77 in the blind which missed. I just got blinded into oblivion.

That last hand was A8 in the small blind. I had about 7500 left and huge stack raised to 1100. I said screw it, I have an A and might be stealing because all I ever here is fold so I tossed my chips in. He had AK of course. Then I got teased with an 8 on the flop only to have him river a K. So I am gonna walk it off for a while and try to finally get hot I cash later on.

After bombing out of the tourney I walked around a while to get some much needed steps in. Despite that this was my worst day for steps in a while. But I will be back to my morning hike and probably workout too tomorrow.

Because of the tourney I had no dinner plan or even idea. I was hungry and decided to try someplace in the TI for an early dinner. Being Saturday just walking in at prime time means long waits. Last night at Grimaldis it was a 45 minute wait for a table but I was able to get right in at the bar. Anyway I went to Senoir Frog a Mexican place. This is why I always go back to the same places because this place sucked. I got the Carne asada burrito and it was mediocre at best. And the atmosphere was even worse. The have a dj playing crappy music extremely loudly. Annoyingly loudly as you vibrate with the bass. Needless to say I won't be going back

I then headed back to the V for more cash. Ground out about 3 hours when fatigue and backache were hitting me. Just wanted to go back to the room and chill with another tall boy. It was my best cash session yet, in for 300 and out for 528. The 2 hands where I did most of my damage were sets. First was a set of Q's against 2 pair and I was able to get it all in. I had another pretty big score with a set of T's. Where I was betting and he was raising. No idea what he had when he folded to a reraise. Unlike the tourney I actually had some real playable hands here. Despite not really having any real outstanding cash sessions i have been chipping up. Up a little over 500 in cash but down those tourney buy ins.

Chip porn doesn't look as good when you have blacks unless you have alot of them but that's okay I have also been playing quicky bubble craps session each morning and am up a couple hundred there. It is strictly hit and run, if I get up I cash out when the roll is over. Staying and playing craps is a death wish!

Yup, I like the hit and run strategy with craps. For me, it works, it works, it works, then BOOM when it doesn't work, I get HAMMERED! Hopefully it keeps you can keep making it work for your short trip.
BTW, great trip report so far. I wonder why security was bothering them poor street ho's at grand lux, if they were just hungry like anybody else!

Was exhausted last night and went to bed early by design. Since this trip is winding down just as I was getting used to this time I need to shift back the other way. Supposed to rain today and although it isn't really raining yet the air has a misty quality. I started walking toward the sphere but didn't go to far. It didn't really have anything cool on it this morning. Just a fed-ex ad.

Not wanting to risk rain I just did laps in the Venetian/Palazzo to get a few miles in before breakfast. I also had a decent run at bubble craps. Was on the verge of a real score when I 7ed out and cashed. In for 100 out for 250 and I probably had another 150 in bets out there when the 7 came.

By then the Grand Lux breakfast menu was about to start. I wanted a syrup vehicle so I got the pancakes. The short stack is more food than an average human can eat. I had about 2/3s and was stuffed. They were very good and I suck at making pancakes so I usually order them when on vacation.

Gonna get a few more steps in before I jump into some cash. With the rain probability I will likely just stay down at this end of the trip today.

It's been a great Vegas day (so far). I seem to have found the illusive run good

Starting with 150 craps score this morning everything I touch pays me! Walked for a bit until V poker room opened at 9 and the got in a game where I played about 3.5 hours. It was a rea roller coaster of a session. Started awesomely when I doubled up early on. I raised in late position with KQ off and blinds called. Flop was A high but all diamonds and I had the diamond K. Small fired 30 and I called as did big b. Turn another diamond so I have nut flush. Small fires 60, big folds and of course I call big folds. River another diamond. I make sure the is no possible straight flush (there wasnt) but figure 5th diamond kills the action. Nope! He fires 100 and I push about 70 more which he calls. He felt he deserved it because he flopped it . But now I had a big stack which started shining quickly as I miss flush and straight draw after flush and straight draw and pocket pairs that don't materialize. 2 hours in and I am below my buy in but then I go on a little rush winning 3 pots in row. The first was small and the I had a decent pot with a flopped 2 pair. The very next hand I flop 2 pair again and no one believes me and I bet it aggressively all the way. It's the river with 3 of us left. One check I bet 50 hoping for a call and guy in late position comes over the top for125. There are no straights or flushes. I told him I smelled set and called and just tossed his cards in the muck. I cashed out in for 300 out for 655.

I wanted to walk for a while but I didn't get far because that stadium baccarat just outside the poker room was calling my name. I have a foolproof system in for 100 out for 240 10 minutes later.

Then I walked for a while and ended up in the Palazzo casino right by the bubble craps so I figured I am on a heater, might as well try. Got stuck about 50 then went on a heater to be +30 and walked more.

I walked another 45 minutes finding myself back at stadium baccarat with a fresh shoe starting. I went for it and my run happened immediately for a +56 score.

I deceived to head back to the room I hit upTI bubble craps where I immediately cashed out for another +96 but forgot to take picture of it.

Just chilling now. Have a reservation for my big meal tonight so just gonna relax until then. Probably make another run at cash tonight.
