Sitting airport waiting to board. Should be this afternoon. Staying at Treasure Island. Never stayed there before? Seems like a decent location for V and Wynn. Didn't want pay up for big resort type when it isn't pool season. I'll check in ton>get once I get situated. Can't wait to play poker and visit my favorite lv eating establishments.

As a fellow born and raised south side of Chicagoan, I approve of your reports. What you like to do in Vegas is very similar to myself. Simple, some eats and poker and don’t get lost in the Vegas wash/craziness. Not that I dont appreciate those TR styles, but they don’t resonate like yours.

Well I made it to LV. Travel days are a drag although my flight landed 45 minutes early. But it took about an hour to get from the airport to TI. Traffic was a bitch and yet Vegas seems kinda dead.



Checking was ad drag too. TI seems fine although dated. My typical TR disclaimer. This TR probably won't be much different from my past journies. As always after getting settled in my room I headed to the Cheesecake Factory. It is the end of an Era! My all-time favorite spicy cashew chicken is off the menu. The waiter said it was coming back next month. Lotta good tat does me . But I started my CF tradition before I discovery the cashew chicken. I had the chicken parm sandwich. It was both huge and delicious but I only ate half to save room for cheesecake.



After that I tried the oreo dream cheesecake. Very tasty.



Then I headed to CP poker room. I was dragging before I started and only played about an hour. I did win $67 though. Not exactly the chip porn of epic TRs but I got a whole week to go.



I'm just gonna chill for a while and hopefully get a good night sleep. Hope to get more serious about poker tomorrow after getting some rest.

TI used to be my favorite place when they had a poker room. The building is designed for convenience. The elevators are near the center of the building so it's not a long walk to anywhere in the casino. There's a CVS attached right to the casino, so drinks, snacks, whatever are right close by. The restaurants are nice but not too nice, if you know what I mean.

It's not surprising the place looks dated. The owner Phil Ruffin is a notorious cheapskate. I haven't stayed there in several years, since they closed their poker room, and I discovered CET comps.

Also used to like Treasure Island and their poker room - they had great chips.

Gutted about the lack of cashew chicken! Cheesecake looks good, though. Looking forward to more chip pr0n!

My body clock is hosed. As an early to bed early to rise guy the time change to LV doesn't do me any favors. I slept really good but was up at 3am. Hopefully I can acclimate as the week wears on. Took a nice long morning hike and got 6 miles in before breakfast.

It's the year of the dragon!



First morning I always head over to the Bellagio conservatory.



Lots of dragons there. On the early morning poker front the V had 4 games going at 4am but when I got back at 5:30 they had none. The bellagio had 1 1/3 and 2 2/5s. Horseshoe had 11/3 and 1 2/3.

I headed to Grand Lux for breakfast. First breakfast in LV is always Eggs Benedict and they were delicious.



Probably gonna head down to the gym now for short workout to both kill some time and ward off all of the bad food I will consume this week. Then I will try to log somepoker hours to shake off the rust.

In other news after my workout at the fitness center I played about 3 hours at V and lost $84. Was pretty much card dead the whole time and only dragged a few small pots. Gonna chill for a while to watch some market news but plan on playing plenty later this afternoon and evening.

I am pretty exhausted. After watching Powell speak I dicked around in the TI casino. I signed up for their players club. You get a spin that gives various rewards. I think I got the nut low. $5 in free slot play. You have to put in money to get free spins so I slid in a 20 and lost that along with my "free" 5 dollars. Anxious to get my 20 back I stuck 100 into bubble craps. After getting stuck immediately I caught a roll and cashed out for 192 so I got my 20 back plus some.

I hadn't eaten a thing since breakfast and was starving so I went to one my goto favorite meals in LV. Fried chicken and cornbread at the Yardbird. That combo defines awesome.





After gorging on that I headed straight back to the V poker room where I played a mostly uneventful 3ish hours. Was stuck most of the time and not really feeling it. Then I hit a set of Jack's against 2 guys thar didn't believe me and all of a sudden I was up. Iwas/am tired so I decided to cash out up 110.



I walked about 15 miles today and did a workout session in the gym despite leatherassing poker for 5 to 6 hours. My back was hurting so I went and got a chair massage which really loosened me up. Now I am just gonna chill and drink a few beers and try to stay up late enough so I don't wake up at 3am again. Planning on playing the Wynn noon tourney tomorrow and hope to be well rested.

Where are you gonna be? I Am going into tourney mode for the next 3 days. Plan is to play Wynn tomorrow and Saturday and the Aria on Friday.

I live less than 10 min from Bellagio and I barely play poker anymore
