I think it’s pretty safe to say in 10 years the only rooms on the strip will be Aria, Venetian, Bellagio, Wynn, and maybe Caesars. All will probably be much bigger too. I think once all the little guys are eliminated the remaining 5-6 will be comfortable expanding despite the fact a couple of those I mentioned above are smaller rooms now than they were 10 years ago

Doubt it. There are too many people that don't like playing in those rooms.

I don't think Caesers is going anywhere. That room is big and busy. I was there like 2 AM back in June and the place was still bumpin. Yeah it was WSOP but still.

Caesers is a big enough property I don't think the poker room is going anywhere.

Flamingo on the other hand could die any day now.

Personally, I don't play at Bellagio, Aria, or Venetian. I think the smaller rooms are more fun and have a different (less professional) vibe which I like.

I even like MGM even though its dark and kinda ghetto.

I think Mandalay Bay, Bally’s or harrahs is probably next. Flamingo actually gets decent traffic compared to the others

I played at Sam's Town a while back. That is what poker is going to be like when I'm in hell.

The thread title should probably be updated to include "poker room" as I read it and assumed the entire casino was closed.

Orleans actually has some pay to play promotions going on right now. I played there a few times this month and kept seeing some of the same tight regs. Last time I was there a couple of tight regs at my table were watching stuff on iPads and getting in the hours.

They're doing fine. Just got back from a stay - big remodel of the buffet and they're adding a sports bar. Pool still sucks, though....

Ruffin bought that place so cheap that it would never close. His nut to be profitable is probably the lowest in the Strip.

I still had some comps there too from a couple years ago. I really only liked the pizza place and Starbucks so no big loss.

Certainly not on same scale but Arizona Charlie's Decatur also closed its poker room last week. Its only significance might be that it was the last poker room in town to permit smoking. That went away about a year ago.

That leaves 31 poker rooms in Las Vegas, two of which are only open on weekend evenings. I believe that number was 54 in January 2012. I count 26 that have closed in that span but three opened and closed after that date.
