Will be in Vegas next weekend. Interested to know who has the best all u can eat buffet (must have warm crab legs) and how much do they run? Any tips or specials for discounts?

Also, what's a good low budget tournament to play while there (Friday or Saturday $150 or less)?

I doubt you get people to agree on what the best buffet is.

The high-end buffets on the Strip all have crab legs and are >$50 (including tax) for dinner at the weekend.

When it comes to low dollar tournaments, they all seem to be pretty much the same to me. They will have poor structures and have a fair amount of bad/naive/slow rec players. So go into them with the main goal of having fun and if you win, great; if you don't, at least you still had a good time for a fairly insignificant sum of money.

And because of that, just make a list of the tournaments for the days you are there and when it is convenient get into one. Making a point to play the 5 PM at Bally's doesn't make much sense if it alters your schedule or day in any way. There will always be another one later on or somewhere else.

This is great advice. Look at pokeratlas.com to see a list of all the daily tournaments. You can also download the bravo poker app to see the poker rooms in Vegas with a list of their cash games and daily tournies.

Friday 7:00 pm at The Orleans $125 buy in NLHE tournament has decent structure for low buy in. I've played a few times. It usually gets 200+ players and lasts until 3:00 - 5:00 am. They have limited tables, so get there an hour early to register because otherwise you will be waiting on alternate list.

The low limit daily/weeklies aren't all the same. For example, the midnight tournament at Flamingo seems like a total short stack coin flip. I didn't play, but was observing while playing cash game after midnight.

my vote for the best buffet is the Wicked Spoon Buffet at the Cosmo. Very excellent with the half cut easy to access crab legs.

Not much running, 'cause they're dead. They just kind of stay on your plate, you should not have any difficulty.

Download the Bravo app; that is a much better than pokeratlas.

Pokeratlas is more useful than Bravo when you want an aggregate list of tournaments around town in chronological order or when you plan on playing at the Westgate.

I'd say the best value for that kind of buffet is the weekend Seafood buffet at M. It has steamed crab legs and unlimited beer/wine is included in the price. It's $42 bucks.

I'm pretty sure Aria, Venetian and Wynn all still have decently structured (for a daily) tournaments on Saturdays. Might want to look into the Friday Orleans tournament if that's still a thing. That's perfect for your criteria if it's still what it used to be.

I too prefer Pokeratlas.

Bacchanal at Caesars is my favorite buffet.

OP, the Paris dinner buffet isn’t great but has crab legs and you can get a comp for it by playing 3 hours at Bally’s poker

Be aware that you're basically paying for that in increased jackpot drop. It's one of the worst "promos" in town.

I agree 100% with this. Taking a “promotional drop” that goes towards a comped buffet. In June & July there were no high hands, B.B. jackpots, aces cracked or anything else. Buffet was a C- at best.

Hugo's (downtown in the basement of the Four Queens) has giant hot crab legs.

Not a buffet, it's an entree.

Wicked Spoon (inside Cosmopolitan)
Aria Buffet
Bellagio Buffet

I recommend them in that order. Also usually crab legs are on ice.

In most cases, Crab legs aren't served "warm" on the buffet because all of that time under the heat lamp in the steam tray still "cooks" them, making the meat hard to separate from the shell with you pick them. Cold crab legs are much easier to open/separate.

I believe Rio recently ended the separate seafood option on their buffet. Instead, according to their website, they have a "Seafood Happy hour 4pm while supplies last".
