Traveling to Vegas on the 26th and need some blah blah blah Traveling to Vegas on the 26th and need some blah blah blah

Couple of questions:

1. I plan to go play the $235 NL tourney on Friday at the Venetian what casino has the 20k guarantee at noon and was curious if that was a good tourney to go into on that day?
2. Who has the best sportsbook with the best parlay action?
3. I want the best steak possible without having to worry about dress code and ideas?
4. Best way to get from the airport with getting screwed over the fair. Staying at Ballys.

Thanks!

1. I never step foot in The Venetian so I couldnt tell you about their tournament. For a less expensive alternative for Friday, Orleans offers a $130 buy in, $15k guaranteed tourny that starts at 7pm.

2. Best sportsbook is highly subjective. I do all my sports betting at Westgate. I don't line shop so I cant tell you how their lines generally compare with other books. I rarely hang out in a sportsbook to watch games but if I were to do so, I'd go to 1. Wynn 2. Westgate 3. Mirage in that order. Books I highly dislike are Excalibur (staff issues, individual tv's to make one big TV so there are lines in the viewing area), Luxor (a few large screens, lots of impossible to view small screens), and Mandalay Bay (great super big monitors, seating is horrific).

3. No clue.

4. Probably go with uber from the airport. Although I'm not sure why $5 in cab fair difference matters that much to a person that wants to eat a $200+ steak dinner.

3) If you want trendy/modern, Cut or SW steakhouse. If you want old school, Hugo's Cellar downtown at the 4 Queens. You can show up at any with a collared shirt and jeans. If you show up in a wifebeater and shorts, you suck and should be beaten by security and tossed out the door, cause no one wants to look at your hairy arm pits while they're enjoying their meal.
4) Uber. Or jump in a cab and say (hotel name) no tunnel.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am coming from Alaska and we dont have any good steak places so it is on my bucket list. 200 bucks for a steak? Yikes.

Nah, not that bad as long as you don't go nuts with the wine list. My wife and I routinely get out of cut at $120 or so apiece, and that with a drink each. Of course, if you get into the Kobe, you can spend as much as you want (or have)

Let's price out a meal at Cut:

1. Starter: Baby Beet Salad $22
2. American Wagyu steak 6 oz (the cheap stuff compared to Japanese Wagyu) $88
3. Sauce $2
4. French Fries $13
5. Brussel Sprouts $15
6. Dessert $10
7. ONE Glass of wine $20 (guesstimate)

Total $170
Tax $8
Tip $35
Total $213

Note I didnt pick anywhere close to the most expensive things on the menu and I left off the cheese course and after dinner drink/coffee.

Now if you just want to go in there and order a steak and a glass of water, I guess you could do that and get out of there for under $100.

3) Dont know about dresscode, but I'd go off-strip. Either "Golden Steer" right off North Strip or "Vic & Anthony's" at Golden Nugget

We went to Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab located at the Forum shops at Caesars. We were 4 people and paid $500 including tips for an excellent meal including starters, steaks and wine. So approximately $125 each. Everything was excellent, but dont really have anything else to compare it with so...

1. I hate the V, but I believe they do run good tourney’s. Aria also has a good daily tourney’s with good sized fields.

2. As said, sports books are subjective. Are you going to watch the games there? If so, Westgate is supposed to be great for that.

3. Most steak houses are clothes friendly outside of trying to eat in shorts and a wife beater. Which if that’s what you want I’d go to outback.

4. Personally I like Lyft or Uber, but you do have to walk into the parking garage and up a floor to get to their pick up location. A small hassle, but worth it. If you take a taxi, say your hotel and “no tunnel”.

Lot of food. My wife and I generally split a couple of sides, and do without dessert. But YMMV I suppose. And your point about the tip is well taken - I wasn't thinking about that, but 20% is of course appropriate assuming good service, which you're going to get at Cut.

Depending on where you are staying, the TI book is nice - small but recently redone. I'm partial to the place because I worked with the guy who runs it in a previous life. They sometimes don't book the more obscure college BB games (say, Md Eastern Shore vs Delaware state, or something like that) but all the "real" games are on the board.

No need to go off-Strip. This is Vegas. I asked at a number of nice places in Caesars, and they said t-shirt and shorts were okay.

And if you go for a second and third steak and a couple more sides, you’re easily over $400!

No idea how much you eat, but the vast majority of couples are perfectly satisfied with a shared appetizer, main courses with a total of two sides and maybe a desert to share. $250-300 for two including tax and tip is certainly doable.

As for dress code, shorts are OK at Cut if you really want to go that route.

T-shirt and shorts are ok in the sense that they won't throw you out, but they're not ok if you consider yourself to not be a slob or a cretin.

Highly recommend Triple George Grill, downtown just half a block south of the Mob Museum.

Great steaks for a fair price, surf and turf for $71, steak only for fifty bucks.

The Redwood Grill at the Cal downtown has very good meals for ~$50 per person. You are in Vegas for a good time, easy enough to put on some khakis and a golf shirt.

MGM has giant sportsbook.
