D lost 1k in the slots right after I left to grind. He messaged and said he's in the room calling it a night.

Poker room here is done at 1am, not sure if i plan to go somewhere and grind for a few more hours or just call it too.

Also, any suggestions on our last place to eat tomorrow? We leave around 4pm so have plenty of time for anything with day hours.

Thanks for following along, sorry it didn't end as epic as it started. LOL

Cashed out at the V for 605, profit of 130 after playing some bad and running worse in the one big hand. Ill take it I guess. Now not sure what to do. We have a 2pm late checkout so I'm not really in a hurry for anything.

I looked up a couple of my fav flight day lunch places and they are not doing lunch service right now...

Milos @ Cosmo apparently not quite as good a deal as it used to be for the prix-fixe menu, but last time I ate there it was incredible value for $20 and would have been fine if it had been $29.

If you do end up putting a morning poker session in at V, then checking your bags in with the V bellhop, playing poker there, having lunch there, and airport from there might make sense. I was keen on Delmonicos for a last day lunch, but they aren't offering lunch right now....
Grand Luxe - difference of opinion solver if you both want different things.
Black Tap - reasonable burger, inevitably overpriced, but right next to poker room.
Smith&Wollensky - I woudn';t go there in the middle of a trip, or for dinner, most likely. But if you are in the V and want enough food to not have to bother either at the airport or on the plane, I might give this a shot. Perhaps if your friend hadn't hara-kiri'd his BR last night, you might have got him to spring for this
Canaletto - Can eaty pretty healthily from their antipasti/insalate menu options if you don't feel like having to crap out a bowling ball on the flight...

Thanks man! Great effort to give us some options. Appreciate it. I think I'm calling it too and poker in the morning sounds good with a lighter meal pre flight.

Stopped at the Grand Cannal shops for some gifts to bring back for my kid. Got a pretty sick card trick kit from the magic shop at Houdinis and a few bubble bath bombs. Forgot to take a pic and they're packed.

The magic guy insta sold me on the cards. I let D take a look at them quick in the room and we were both super impressed how cool and easy it is to do. I think she'll love it!

Do you mean...

1) why a girl is even talking to some deadbeat who cant afford a belt
2) why a girl is talking to some deadbeat who thinks corona is a joke

or...

3) why they even bother having those 6ft stickers on the floor

?

Clarification - the dude's shorts! No belt and too big. He has to stand with his feet super spread out to keep the from falling down. Walking or especially running, he would always have to have one arm/hand there to hold them up.

I was pretty tipsy when I took this and yes, the picture shows more to question now that you're mentioning other things. Haha. Only meant the shorts though.

Capped it off with some Fogo de Chao. Waiting on our Uber to grab our bags back at Flamingo and head to the airport to call it final.

Usually come once or twice a year, but next summer will be super busy if this covid **** goes away so looks like this might be the last ride for a couple years.

Fun TR . I'm driving across country in a few weeks and was debating on stopping in vegas but you might have sealed it for me. I got excited just reading this, I dunno what it is about vegas that does that to me-im a straight up addict.

I feel real bad for your friend, that's ****ing terrible.

Btw: how safe did you feel there regarding covid? Were people keeping their distance and generally being thoughtful? Appreciate any thoughts about this

I'm probably not the person to ask about Covid and safety, but D is on the other side of the opinion... I think he would say that more people than he would have liked definitely weren't practicing social distancing. Mask use was pretty good in my opinion and I think we do agree on that. I would even say very good inside (80+%?) He did point out a few instances, but those were mostly outside and mostly a lot of people that looked like they just didn't give a damn in general. Inside where we were, staff was pretty diligent about reminding people of the mask up.

As far as keeping distance and being thoughtful, I would maybe give it a 6 out of 10??? So probably not good as far as safety department of health regulations go. And you do have all spectrums down there, people who wear 2 masks, googles and stay 10 feet away, but also people with no masks talked loudly 2 feet away from you.

If I/you was/are worried about the safety and Covid, I would suggest against going to be completely honest at this point.
I wasn't worried about it at all which is why I decided to go. D was probably just slightly less worried about it than he wanted to go if that makes sense, but he did say at times it made him a little anxious.

Probably too much info as I know i could receive backlash or whatever, but its my honest thoughts and opinion and guidance i would give anyone concerned about it.

Not sure why you'd catch backlash. Telling us what you saw is way more useful than telling us how to thing, and you gave a nice summary of your observations. Tx again for the tr. I'm tired of living vicariously but it's all I got atm.

Well, I did in the Vegas and Coronavirus thread for my thoughts and figured maybe some of those people would see this thread. Even caught a ban for being political, even though I'm not political in the least. TR July 30th - Aug 3rd Either way, hope you make the best decision for yourself. And if you decide to go, don't be shy and throw out a TR, because when I'm not there, I also love reading them!

Stickum,

I saw your post after I initially read this thread and yea I'm sure I dont agree with you but as sw said I'm not going to attack you for it. This thread is about your TR, and it was a fun one. I appreciate you providing facts and observations about how the casinos are operating.

I understand that in vegas people are going to generally be reckless covid or not and while I will probably feel a level of uncomfort (until I get 3 or 4 patron shots in me) I mostly want to know if theres social distancing and if you even have the opportunity to social distance. I decided if I do get crazy and play poker I'll wear a mask at the table plexiglas or no and refrain from drinking anything directly at the table.

I'm not sure I'll end up being able to justify going as I am generally trying to be part of the solution and I believe covid to be unsafe. If I wasnt going to be driving straight through it I probably wouldnt even consider going.

Thanks, and sorry you guys had bad luck

+1, I don't have any plans to do Vegas before (hopefully) WSOP in 2021, but I greatly appreciate the report from boots on the ground in the middle of it all.

Very much enjoyed the report and the pictures!
