Enjoying the food pics and trip in general. I'm not a tourney player but I don't think you did anything wrong with the AT hand, maybe could've of 3X instead of jamming? Anyway nothing to worry about, go grind some cash games.

Beef cheek? Sounds like something the Clampetts would eat, like beaver lips or possum gizzard.

There's a lot of parts from animals we eat everyday that we don't try on a regular basis. Beef cheek is a very fatty and tender part of the cows face that is very rich in flavor. There's a similar part of the pig made from jowel called "guanciale" in Italian which they make into something similar to bacon.

After the pool headed over to the Aria and had a white sauce and sausage pizza from the place near the cardroom.

After that headed to the card room to play the $150 Sunday night tourney and just played like a total donk and busted in the second round... A long walk for a quick bust out TR: First Solo Trip 8/11-8/14

Took the tram from the Aria to Bellagio, and walked to Caesars and bought into the $150 9 PM tourney.

Was playing really well and chipping up until getting crushed for almost my whole stack on a flopped two pair that got sucked out on runner runner for the back door flush after we got it all in on the flop. Got down to about 8 bbs and then ran like God and became the chip leader.

Final six people, a very kind elderly woman from England here on her birthday and myself are way out in front, another semi large stack next, and two small stacks left, with the blinds so high it's basically push/fold for everyone but me and birthday girl, and I'm tired and realize the tide could turn quickly against my stack with a couple of coin flips, so I propose an ICM chop and I take it down for $993.

Finally got to take a pic of some money on a table, like Floyd Mayweather

Picked up my cash and walked back to the Mirage, gave a nod to my favorite indifferent dolphin out front

Threw $10 in a slot and won $100

Went to bed

Woke up this morning and told myself not to fall trap to what I call "the danger zone", i.e. the time before your flight when you have nothing to do and it's too early to go to the airport, but too short to play poker again, and the Casino just sucks the money out of you. I swear if they could somehow track it, more people lose money during this part of the trip than any other lol.

My uncle died a few months back and he was a lifelong Mirage man. We used to meet him here on family trips, which is why I love it to this day. He played baccarat and loved video poker. This was one of his favorite seats in the casino.

Hit Carnegie deli for the matzo ball soup and a somewhat dry turkey sandwich. I almost always get corned beef but after a weekend of eating big I needed a little respite.

Went to the sports book to bet on the Pats, despite being a lifelong Niners fan, mostly to send a pic of the ticket to my best friend who hates the Pats. I laid my first sports bet back in 2006 for the Pats to beat SD in the AFC divisional round back when everyone was on SD's jock, especially in SF where I lived at the time, where suddenly everyone and their mom was a surprise Chargers fan and it was super annoying. Won that bet and have liked the Pats as my second favorite team ever since.

Got the taxi to the airport and threw a couple of bucks in a Wheel of Fortune, got a spin on the first try.

Only won 35 credits which ended up being like $11. Big baller.

Oh forgot to take a pic of the Pappy I had at Heritage Steak so here's a pic of the same Pappy I had last time at Heritage Steak.

Contemplating getting some ice cream now at the airport, and just got a pic of my dog from my wife saying he misses me.

Good trip! Looking back on it, going solo is fun but there's definitely times it would have been nice to be with pals, during down times between poker and late at night if you don't want to play cards. It being hot and having the pool to just chill at was a good time filler, so if I come back in the winter will most likely come with pals. Didn't play much blackjack for some reason, wasn't really feeling the vibe.

Nice work on the TR, and nice work on the tourney. The wife and I stopped drinking 4 months ago as an experiment. Seeing how Bourbon is my fave, that pic made my mouth water.

And because you would have to be clinically insane to bet on Frisco.

Keep that pic and hide the ticket away in a dark space. I made a futures bet and 4 months later the ticket faded to a blank sheet of paper. If it had won I would really have been pissed.

Hey OP what did you think of the Lot B, have you had the 10 year Old Rip and if so which one did you prefer more?

Cabeza (sp?) tacos, FTW. Most of my friends won't eat it. Had some in Tucson 2 decades ago that was the most tenderest meat I've ever had.

Solid TR, OP. Just had to chime in on this before finishing up the thread.

I am not a SD fan, but Pats got super lucky. Chargers picked off Brady late and defender just had to go down and then Chargers can kneel on the ball. That is sports though. I also just made the same Pats future bet at the same odds; from bellagio sports book.

Great TR; thanks for sharing!
