Gonna skip a lot of details, start at the next night. Ate the Bellagio buffet, bartender told me Harris had been in there with a hooker, bought her dinner and drinks. charged it to my room of course. (the host ended up comping it all but wasnt sure with all the huge tabs we were running up. they were a lot more generous with comps back then than now) bartender said he had the whole place dying laughing running his mouth. the girl was not actually a hooker, just a girl they had picked up at palms pool earlier, but she coulda passed for one easily. Jeremy and I were walking through the Bellagio pit games area, jeremy stops in awe of a girl sitting at a black jack table with a dude. I recognized her as Karen Mcdougal who was voted one of the hottest playmates of all time. We sat down at their table, asked her boyfriend if he minds if i play, he said sure, jump in anytime. I quickly ask Karen, weren't you the playmate of the year? she smiled, said yes, I said well I greatly admire your work. boyfriend laughed. I could immediately tell he was cool. We talked a good while, she was very nice. Her boyfriend was not the jealous type at all and even took a pic for us. this pic does not do her justice. google her. crazy fine.



Her boyfriend was betting very big. In that situation i never ask what someone does for a living, but i asked how they met and she said she did some promo work for an online betting site he started. I asked which one, he told me, it was the site i bet on. I said WHAT? you know how much money i have lost to you ? he said i can send you a nice duffel bag if you want. i pointed to the bag jeremy had toted with the sites logo and said already got one. he died laughing cause he knew then i was a degen. Jeremy and I kept wondering where Harris was and we told them about this friend we had and all the crazy crap he had done that weekend. It was getting late, Karen was ready to go, but her boyfriend (John) was having fun with us and wanted to see this Harris guy for himself. She left (not happy) and he stayed with us. we first sat down at that table around 9:30pm, john didnt leave us til about 8am. Harris showed up and he didnt fail to entertain. We all went to a low stake black jack table, john was playing huge so the pit bosses were watching us closely.
Harris and jeremy were hollering at nearly every girl that walked by when we were at black jack. I think it was this trip that Harris uttered a line that i have borrowed to use on hookers many times since. he asked a hooker, hey girl you charge by the hour or by the inch? either way i should get a helluva discount. We all started losing at b jack, bad. Harris kept cussing when he lost, loudly. any other time we woulda been thrown out, but with a whale like john, no way. Harris had been warned several times, then the pit boss came over and sternly told him "sir, this is the bellagio, we do not use that kind of vulgar language here" Harris's eyes got real big and he says... Oh, i'm sorry i didnt realize i was in God's house... all this gambling, alcohol, drugs and prostitution in here (points at an obvious hooker as she walks by) lord forbid I say a vulgar word in the house that God built! his delivery of that was hilarious, everyone busted out laughing and the pit boss couldn't help but laugh also. she just gave up and walked off. We continued to lose. i lost very big, john lost a ton. john got em to comp us an open tab at the bar where everyone walks buy. we decided to get completely smashed. Harris hollered at every girl he saw. as i saw this one very pretty girl approaching us with her man. i told Harris, do not say anything, do not. He wasnt even talking to her, just me and said very loudly, oh naw, hell naw. you think im gone let that walk by? hell naw. her dude got a little past us and came back charging wanting to fight Harris. John (who was a big dude)told the guy to relax and he walked off. an undercover security guard (who i am sure had been watching us a while) walked up and said we needed to have him under control. no doubt if not for john they would have thrown us out but you can get away with near about anything when you are with a whale. Harris told the guard, i will kill that guy. guard said and you will probably end up in jail. harris said for killing a man? absolutely. lol. John got in between guard and harris, shook his hand, said thank you very much and kinda pushed the guard away, basically saying beat it. Guard didnt say a thing to him... whale life
it got around 8am and john took off, i talked to him on the phone some time later, but we never crossed paths again. he was a good guy




Jeremy and Harris had to leave soon. Harris said i aint catching that bird home and passed out. while trying to wake him up he yelled"i aint going back to that one horse town, leave me alone!" jeremy manged to get him up. He kept trying to take a Bellagio robe with him and the room was in my name. i fought him and took it out of his bag twice, watched him to make sure he didnt get one. about a month later he had people over around 3am after we went out and he was sporting a Bellagio robe.
it was a task to get them to the airport. they were cutting it very close. harris tried to get a cab and tried to skip the line, which didnt work. He got all mad saying, you think i got to where i am by waiting in line? The casino host had set a limo up to get them and the limo pulls up. Harris is just loving it and yells, making sure everyone who told him to get in the back of the line saw him get in that limo. anyone else it would be considered assholish, but with him, you cant help but laugh. they took off, and their venture in the airports that day could be a trip report by itself from what jeremy told me (they got on the wrong plane, not sure how but they did. they were very drunk and i cant believe they were allowed to fly). i stayed another night and probably lost more money. We had a lot of fun that trip and Harris went from someone i just went to high school with to a lifelong friend for me and jeremy, we were both in his wedding many years later. all from a chance run in at a concert and a trip to Vegas. Jeremy and I would return a few months later that fall. TR continuing when i get time.

McDougal story brought back some interesting memories. I recorded her VO and mixed her 1998 PMOY video. I don't remember her being as tall as her listed 5'8", and had no idea she was an Irish Cherokee (same thing I am). It reminded me that they forgot to give me a credit, and that Hef kicked back the mix because of a music edit he didn't like (made me happy I wasn't in the credits...lol).

HA! you actually encourage me to keep going. it is something when i look back on it all. there is a lot more. If you are talking about all the celebrity run ins and stuff, a lot of it came from being around high limit areas, whale friends i have had. some just chance. the first live poker tourney i ever played, i came in late, sat down and Ray Romano sits next to me. that was cool, will get to it eventually. But all the real fun came from all the friends i made and taking Harris down there. People ask me now where i got my outlandish behavior from, and i say its from trying to keep that guy calm all these years, then when i get drunk......

That was June 05. I remember seeing her in a magazine with bruce willis after that. Karen was a sweetheart, so fine in person. i remember she was hungry, wanted a chocolate covered strawberry. i sprinted to vip services to get her some. her boyfriend was cool with it and laughed. he loved us, especially harris

No, she did voiceover that was used as "background" for the video. I recorded that (how I met her), and then I did the final sound mix for that video. Whenever you work with a total amateur like that, you're generally worried the recording session will go poorly. We went in the booth, and I explained to her what she needed to do to give me a good recording (she was very attentive and quiet throughout the entire time she was there). Then I crossed my fingers she'd follow my directions. After each take, she'd back way off the mic, look at the director for direction, and I was nervous. Then, boom, exactly back where I told her for the next take. She did a good job. I find it hard to believe anyone ever watched them with the sound on.

When the piece got kicked back for the music edit, I always envisioned Hef taking the 3/4" videotape out and throwing it against a wall. We delivered the piece on a Friday afternoon, and I got a call at 9pm on Friday night to come back in and fix it. Hef always watched any of those that I worked on and gave final approval. That was the only one that ever got kicked back, and I was very glad my name actually wasn't on it when it happened...lol.

After 2 trips in a short period, i knew for my own good i didnt need to go back to vegas, but in the fall of 05 a company i was doing business with was paying for a large group to stay at the very recently opened Wynn. I just couldnt say no. Me and Jeremy arrived at the Wynn on a Thurs night and immediately noticed some of the A talent waitresses from Bellagio went to work there. A girl i knew from Bellagio invited us to go with about 10 of them to Gilleys that night. There was this one really hot girl, Melissa that was a sweetheart, had forgot about her til i saw this video.


i dont think i ever saw her after this trip, wondered if she went to work somewhere else. she was really sweet and crazy, crazy hot. Judging from the video we lost big the first night.
I will never forget that Wynn being brand new, man it was, still is nice. We were blown away with the automatic drapes, HD tv in the bathroom (this was 2005)
This was the first trip that I met a waitress that i have been friends with since and she is a sweetheart that still works there. Merle "the Pearl" if you guys play at Wynn look out for her and tip her well, cause she is awesome, and very genuinely nice, which everyone knows is rare there.



I can only remember a lot of these details from the old dvds i broke out when i decided to write this and they reminded me about this guy we met in the cab line at the Wynn. man was this guy hilarious. Not sure how in the world, but he caught a cab with us to New York NY. The cab driver rear ended someone (slightly) and the dude was just determined not to pay the cab fare because of this, argued like crazy with the driver. i was gonna pay for it the whole time, but just watched them argue a while cause the guy was so funny. it was wrong of me, i know but just too funny. This guy was like our buddy Harris, but on amphetamines. We lost him somehow, ended up at Excalibur where i guess i did some semi heavy gambling.
Funny how little things determine fate because this little session at Excalibur would determine a lot the next time i went to vegas in March of 06
Got comped for an Excalibur buffet and it reminded me of the one cousin Eddie took Clark Griswold to. (I eventually met Chevy Chase out there in 2013 or14. noone liked him)

We hung out at Gilleys a lot this trip. It was at the old Frontier then, always was a good crowd and a good time. I left Gilleys more than once , drunk and lost a bunch to the Frontier casino. man were the offers coming from that dive after that trip. Coming home Jeremy got on the plane ok, but they told me i was too intoxicated. Looking at the video now, i realize i had on a t shirt that said Von Drunk, im sure that didnt help. I didnt argue much, cause screw it, i will stay another night. Went to Bellagio and they comped me a room with a nice fountain view.

Some of you seem to enjoy the celebrity run ins, this trip had one too. (back then i was easily starstruck, we don't see many famous people in NC)
Before I got comped at Bellagio I went back to the Wynn and tried to get a night comped there. I had not played enough and they said no. It was around 8am, I was extremely drunk. I see this guy by the casino host office with a Fred Sanford t shirt and get excited, yelling nice shirt bro. he said thanks, then i realize i recognized the guy, he was a comedian, but i couldnt remember his name. i said hey man, i know you can i get a pic ? whats your name man? he said you want a pic but you don't know my name ? i said its Jay! he laughed and said you got it, he held up the camera, took a selfie of us.


I went to Bellagio and slept. around 9pm i went back to The Wynn went to eat the buffet (great) and play black jack. I sit down at table and low and behold its Jay Morh again sitting there also. I was badly hungover, gave Jay a nod when i sat down, it was just me and him there. he said hey dude! you sure quited down, you were trashed this morning. I said yeah, trashed and cashed. we talked a while, he joked saying i needed to get on the 12 step gambling program. After about 30 mins or so I was stunned as Nikki Cox sat down at the table. She had some huge boobies and I think they were real, if not they were enhanced.. not fake. big difference. I used to love the show Las Vegas with James Caan she was on. She was just as nice as she can be and seemed to laugh at my stupid antics a lot ( i was catching a buzz by then) I think her and Jay were engaged at the time. they are still married now and have several children i believe.



I jokingly told Jay, can you get out of the pic so i can get one with just her? he laughed and was cool with it.






Lost a lot that trip, but as always had a good time, and made some good friends. stayed at The Wynn/Encore many times after that

Next trip was March 2006 and one TR you may like the best in April 2006 when I got a great hookup, got invited to Bobby Baldwin's birthday party. Gonna try and find the videos sometime this weekend
