Re: TR 4-18 June RT: SAT-ABQ-LAS-LAX pics as we go

Day 9 - Downtown

Man it has been busy, so let's catch up a bit. After catching up Sunday afternoon, I decided to head downtown to the Golden Nugget for their 7pm "Deepstack" tournament (not really). It was bright, sunny, and a bit windy.

I registered for the 7pm tournament and found out this was the day before this huge Bar Open Tournament, something I had never heard of but is apparently a thing. Cool. I have played bar poker. A special kind of barracuda swims in those waters. There was still a little time before the tourney and they had a seat open at 1-2 NL so I jumped in with $1k not really knowing how the table was loaded. I accidentally had the table covered. Oops. I managed to run into some kicker issues and took a small hit to the stacks before the tournament started.

For the tournament, we got to use the very special iridescent tournament chips.

About 6 levels in I was trying to chip up a bit shoving with Ax, Kx and suited broadway. Finally the guy to my left had enough and snap called my A6 with 66 and I did not catch my ace. Oh well. Chip up or go home, and off I go to the cash tables. On the way though, I had gotten a tweet from Jimmy Bluffet (@joeycocker on twitter) who was nearby and wanted to meet and say hi. So here he is.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo - something new is going on with the front lens on my phone.

Well this time around they had a spot in their 1-2 PLO game so I snatch that one up and take a seat at table 6. I spot a certain familiar hat in the corner of the room at one of the 1-2 NL tables. I tweet at him, he likes the tweet and when he's done for the evening he stops by table 6 to say hi and obliges for a selfie before departing back to TrooperWare HQ.

After a few hours it was time to go. Tomorrow starts four days of working 6-3, taking a brief nap and going out on the prowl to card rooms in the evening. I was up and down in the PLO game but ultimately ended the night just short of fully unstuck taking another small loss. So, results wise Golden Nugget was not particularly good. The games, however, were good. I feel confident if I didn't have to worry about work the next day I'd book a small win within a few hours.

Day 10 - Work plus back to the Wynn

So I decided to work from the Sports Book at Mandalay Bay. I sit at the creepy hour of 0600 and get started. Slight annoyance, MGM properties do offer free wifi, but every 60 minutes you have to re-authenticate with your email address. But hey its free, I'm totally loafing, so that's fine. 1500, its a quick jaunt back to the airbnb pad for about a 90 minute nap then back up, shower and head to the Wynn, targeting the 5pm Mixed game. Coach was a bit late because a good friend was chip leader in the 8 game mix, but busted out 7th and he was railing him at the Rio. By the way, congratulations to Grumpy who won that event.

While I was waiting for the mixed game to start up, I went ahead and sat the 5-5 PLO table. I was only there about 45 minutes, was up, was down and when they called for the mixed game I was minus $2.

I was changing out chips to the $3 chips and getting started in the mixed game when I glanced over and noticed who took my seat at the PLO table ... I think I left at the right time - I'm not sure anyone left at the table escaped with their roll unscathed.

I did not want to bother him in a hand of course but one time I walked by a few hours later he had no cards in front of him so I leaned in quick to whisper how I appreciated his podcast and and told him he's doing a good job. He said thanks. I could see in his eyes he was begging me not to whip out my phone for a selfie or do anything else to draw attention so I of course I moved on. I'm pretty sure he was in "hey man I'm just a totally innocent tourist here to play some cards. I heard this PLO thing was twice as much fun because you use four cards, right" kinda mode. No idea what he bought in for, but he had mountains in front of him everytime I walked by. GG Papi.

But back to the mixed game.

I actually had a pretty good night. I'm getting much better at stud games than I used to be. The Go Home alarm sounded and with another early morning looming, I got out plus 2/3 of a rack.

Day 11 - Work plus Dinner with my cousin

Tuesday I decided to work from the Venetian food court. On the plus side, there are plenty of tables an enough electrical posts I can plug in. The wifi is still free, and I don't have to log in every hour. But -- the signal is weak and the throughput is poor leaving it difficult to remain connected. Finally the day ends. Back to the pad for about an hour nap, then shower and head out north to my cousin's house, around 215 and 95 ish area. I need to do a little laundry and we are going out to dinner. Since the news about Roma #1 being purchased by Todd Brunson it came onto my radar as an interesting place I had to check out. It did not disappoint, it is exactly as advertised. A casual, authentic Italian style eatery. Most Italian-American places put too much emphasis on the tomato and the tomato sauce and when you get a "meat sauce" its usually meat added to a marinara sauce. Not here -- it felt like I was back in Rome with a real meat sauce containing, primarily, meat. Spectacular. We also split the anti-pasta sampler platter or something like that. It could use a few hard cheeses in the mix, but overall was very nice. 100% would recommend to others and I most definitely plan to go again. Also, as my cousin said, the waiter was authentic Italian as well. She wanted to take him home to cook for her.

My cousin works for a school and today was her last day of work before summer break, so she did not have an early morning. We decided to go bowling. She was somewhat surprised to find I had my bowling ball and shoes with me, but the is one of the benefits of driving to Las Vegas. Santa Fe Casino is near her house so we head there to bowl.

We were both pretty bad. I probably bowled one of my worst games in years, but I am way out of practice too. No strikes and maybe 4 spares over 2 games. Ouch. Sub 100 both games. Ouch ouch. I usually, even cold out of practice will hit 135-180 most of the time. Oh well, it was still fun.

I dropped her off, picked up the laundry, and headed right back to Santa Fe for a little poker before heading to bed.

I started at the 3-6 table because there was a seat open. It was already short handed, I felted three players within about 10 minutes leaving up three handed. We played for a few more minutes and then two hands heads up and the other guy was done and took off.

As I was racking up from the 3-6 game the 2-4 game broke too leaving just the 1-2 NL table. They had a seat open so I sat over there. I played with self-proclaimed poker celebrity everyone knows apparently who goes by "Stuck Amy" -- You ask around, she says, everyone knows who Stuck Amy is. Stuck Amy was kind enough to play the role of pay off wizard on two big draws I hit, so I appreciate her tenacity. I gave some back, as one does, but ultimately booked an almost double up. Sorry no pic from the 1-2 game. Back home to get some rest before another work day.

Re: TR 4-18 June RT: SAT-ABQ-LAS-LAX pics as we go

Day 12 - Work plus The Orleans

So today I decide on the Tropicana. They used to have a really nice Sports Book area. Not so much anymore. However, in the hallway toward the conference center near the spa are a bunch of chairs and tables, so that is where I setup camp for the day.

This was a nice spot, mostly. The chairs were comfortable, I was right on front of the air vent and was blasted with cold air the whole time (almost too cold, but I was right in front of the vent, so ... ). The main issue was weak wifi. The signal was not very good. Still I powered through the day, back to the pad for a brief nap before a quick shower and out to ... The Orleans. They had a bounty tournament at 7 that seemed at least interesting. Why not, amiright?

Things were going pretty well. Not much excitement until I turned a nut straight on a rainbow board and started to pile the chips in. What didn't go in on the turn went in on the river with a second 4 made an appearance. No boat makes any sense, so the only hand that beats mine is ... oh yes there it is at showdown: Quad Fours. Rats. And on to the cash game we go. I sat in a 2-4 Hold 'em table pounding in the chips and ticking off some guy from California when I called him down for a gut shot I hit on the river. He was so pissed when I raise the river. Hello and welcome to limit hold 'em sir. By the way, AA is not a made 5-card hand and is not that good. Anyway, I get called for the real game, 8-16 Omaha Hi Lo. On to the must-move table #1.

I start with usual 2 racks of pinks. I chip up and end down about 1/2 a rack when its time to move to Must Move Table 2. This table is much better and I chip up back past even to almost 2 racks above start. Finally, the move to the Main Game. These are the guys I have played with many times around Las Vegas including my fourth favorite dealer in the city, Rocky. An old school dealer, now mostly retired, he really made experiences at the Golden Nugget special for many visits many years in a row when he would push to my table. I peaked at about +3 racks around 2330 and even thought to myself -- hmm now would be a good time to go, I could even get a little extra sleep.

lol. Its a leak I need to work on.

So 90 minutes later I have to go and leave, unfortunately, stuck about 2/3 of a rack from buy-in. Sad trombone noise.

Bonus positive: I <3 B Connected rewards. Unlike the rest of the cheap ass reward programs, for a visitor like me who comes out once per year to Las Vegas, B Connected is awesome. I had enough $$ on my card from last summer to buy my dinner at Fudruckers, walking in cold off the street for 2017 at the Orleans. No other rewards program let's you do that -- they all reset after X months or every January. Huge props to Boyd Gaming for that.

Day 13 - Catch up day and then ... ?? No specific plans right now, need to do a little souvenir shopping. I'm experimenting with a back-pack camera mount for my Nikon 3500 and having mixed results. My ear is in too much of the frame and the video is very choppy because I don't have professional shock absorption rig. We shall see at the end of the trip if there is any useful footage. Tomorrow I'm going to play again in the Grand Poker series 8 game mix. I hope I don't run into Grumpy ...

Re: TR 4-18 June RT: SAT-ABQ-LAS-LAX pics as we go

Watbri - Same. I can't believe I did not get a selfie with you. I also screwed up and did not grab a selfie with Veronica Brill or Lon McEachern. So, definitely mistakes were made in the non aggressive selfie department. Still at least *I* have the memories, even if I can only share by retelling instead of photo. I also got some DM chuckles with Neeme as I told him of some of the ... interesting comments ... that came from ladies of the night whilst wearing one of his "Favorable" t-shirts. Anyway, the conclusion coming soon.

Re: TR 4-18 June RT: SAT-ABQ-LAS-LAX pics as we go

Ok the trip is complete, so it is time to finally get fully unstuck on the TR.

Day 13 - I was catching up on this TR from the Bellagio Sports Book area. Recommended, wish I had found this earlier. Really nice, very functional. Also, gave me a chance to look around the Bellagio again.

I always love the conservatory and may be my favorite part of the all these new LV vloggers that are active these days -- at least one of them will occasionally go to the conservatory so I can see the neat and interesting seasonal changes that take place. I only see it during the summer.

I'm poking around, looking for interesting leads and I decide on a room I haven't visited in several years that I keep hearing good things about. It is certainly a better setup than it was years ago, and the game was fair to middlin'

I then see some tweets that folks I wanted to meet up F2F were at the Rio, so I head over there to rail a few playahs. One was Watbri who I caught up with on break on the 2pm daily. Sorry no pics, but I swear it did happen, lol. I also caught up with Veronica Brill of Stones Live fame who was kind enough to introduce me to her bff Lon McEachern who was at the next table over. Unfortunately I arrived just in time for her to bust out of the 2pm daily, so that is the sour look on her face in this picture. Don't blame her, she looks so much better in person than this picture demonstrates. Its the iPhone and the bust out face.

Then I decided to hang around the Rio a bit in the WSOP cash games again. I played in a little 1-2-5 PLO waiting for a seat in the mixed game.

I made a quick $50 before my seat was called for the OMG so ****ing awesome 20-40 mixed game. Did I mention I LOVED this game? I am so glad I decided to branch out of the uber-low limits this trip and embrace these higher limits of games I actually am good at playing (unlike NLH where I am tens of thousands of hours of study and experience behind most of the folks sitting at an average 5-10, 10-25 or 25-50 NLH game -- I'm only ahead of the drooling drunks in the 1-2, 1-3, 2-3 game). I may not be on par with the 400-800 crowd of mixed gamers, but I also don't have $20,000 to buy in (I always start a 4-8 chip FL structure game with 2 racks of chips), so the 9-18 ($3 chips, 3-6 FL structure) game I found at the Wynn, the 12-24 game at the Bike ($3 chips, 4-8 FL) the 20-40 ($5 chips, 4-8 FL) I found at the WSOP and the 40-80 ($10 chips, 4-8 FL) I found at Bellagio are just perfect. Buying in for $2k is about the top of the mark for my comfort level for this trip -- future years I hope this to continue to inch up, but we shall see. Anyway -- this was by far my best mixed game session of the trip by far, profiting a full rack and a half of chips over about 3 hours. For a hobbyist this is a huge win if I do say so myself. Also, I noted I was clearly up a good chunk and I listened to that little voice that says -- maybe you should leave now. I still donked off about a stack and a half before actually racking up, but I still left well ahead, as opposed to the night previous at the Orleans.

I saw a tweet from one other gentleman I was trying to get F2F from Twitter who was out at Southpoint so I headed out for that property. On the way out ...

WSOP, you are welcome. Thanks for a great fun time, even though I am terrible at tournaments, no doubt I will try again in future years. I don't mind at all contributing to someone else's prize pool, as long as the entry is paid for by cash game profits.

Another game leak -- at this point, the trip was getting a bit long, I had the 8 game mixed tournament tomorrow at the Nugget and probably should have quit. I have noticed at the end of trips I start losing way more, probably because I'm not well rested and not paying as close attention as the beginning. Sadly, therefore, this was my last winning session of the trip. tears. Still, the TR continues, if nothing that as a reminder to Know When To Run, as in this case, know when to run away with positive cash flow from the trip -- don't insist on continuing to try to win more. lol ok anyway.

The person I tried to meet at South Point was playing in the senior's event the next morning, so I believe he was already turned in by the time I arrived. I really like South Point by the way, another great rewards program where I was able to use comp $$ from LAST summer to buy a small meal while waiting on the list for the seat. I picked the 2-4 limit game, stunk it up and booked a small loss. On the plus side, I did turn quad nines which was a high hand bonus for $50.

It was well past time for bed -- 1100 tomorrow for the Nugget tourney.

Re: TR 4-18 June RT: SAT-ABQ-LAS-LAX pics as we go

Day 14 - Golden Nugget 8-game mix tournament.

One of the reasons I planned this trip -- my fourth time to compete in this tournament.

Sure enough, I find Grumpy, whom I have heard talked about for years but hadn't met yet. Since he won the 8 game mix bracelet event the week before, his face is slightly better known and of course many recognized him. Another missed selfie opportunity, but also I could tell he really didn't want any more attention brought on him for the players who had no idea he just won the bracelet for the same mix of games a week prior. Fair enough. I have made it to dinner break twice in this event. This year did not add a third. However, usually over-reaching in a stud or stud8 hand takes me out -- this year it was NLH. I believe it was overplaying good ol' JJ and it all went in pre flop (I was already short of course and 4 bet all in). Naturally called by AKo. Not only was a K in the window, but a A came along too, leaving me drawing to 2 left over Js or running TQ. But the K on the turn left me drawing dead, GG, showers, blah blah blah.

I actually won a majority of the stud / stud8 and razz hands I chose to complete on 3rd, which is a huge improvement in my stud game compared to recent years. Really helped to just shore up my starting hand choices in all three games and learning better bet pattern options based on board reads (I was typically too passive, but this year betting when my board looked better than Vs board(s) I picked up a lot of pots with middling hands). This applied also to cash game play especially at those 20-40 and 40-80 limits. Also, confirmed, like pretty much no one knows how to play Badacey. Tournament or CG, I cleaned up in that game, usually winning with a bet from second draw, pat + bet after everyone was still drawing at least 1. Usually with a min solid 3-card badugi, most of the time with a 8 or better four-card and then the A-5 half was whatever I was able to pull together in 2 draws. Pat plus bet seemed to be key for most players to give up. For whatever reason, not as much in Baduecy or Badugi but almost always in Badacey. Anyway, hello tangent. Sorry for random blast of strat talk in a TR.

I blew off a little steam in a Golden Nugget 2-4 LHE game. Another small loss ($4) over a few hours. The lady next to me was sitting for her first time at the Nugget (usually plays in Tunica) and she grabbed up a K-high diamond straight flush for a bonus $170. That was really cool to see, I guess my pair was no good? lulz

It was Friday night and normally I would look for an EZ drunky touristy games on the strip at like Harrahs or Flamingo or maybe even Mandalay Bay. However, EDC had invaded and parking was basically non-existent plus traffic was more of a horrific nightmare than usually so I wanted to 100% avoid the strip at all costs. So I visited another property for the first time. Several vloggers have had good things to say, and I agree its quite a nice room with several really interesting games going. A short wait and I am seated at a 4-8 O/8 w/ 1/2 kill.

Its a fun game with a lot of interesting local characters including this guy that sits to my right who is, supposedly, a local legend. He starts by getting into a hand with me and then answering a phone call. The table spends several minutes waiting on him to act on several streets while having to listen to his very loud, very verbally abusive conversation. Then he was eating and couldn't be bothered to take action in time. Then he got up to scream into his phone some more, shoving the chair into me as he spun it around getting up. I was just about to rip into him and totally embarrass myself when this spindly lady came and sat behind him. He started to behave after that and was almost pleasant. lol.

As previously noted, I'm on an end-of-trip skid of smallish losses -- ie nothing like the Bad Day at Table 27, but still nothing in the black either. I leave after the table breaks and they move in a second 2-5 table. I head out to check out another off-strip spot I somehow have missed all these previous trips. Silverton. What's weird is I have been to South Point several times, but somehow always missed Silverton. Anyway, no poker room, so I degen a bit with Ultimate Texas Hold 'em and a short buy in craps. The skid continues.

This is the end of the trip for the most part -- just driving back left. I was not able to catch the 10-20 Omaha game this time in Albuquerque unfortunately, so I just played a poor game of 1-2 NLH and went to bed before driving back the rest of the way today. There are a few pics incoming, so check back.

I am catching up after returning home. I have to work tomorrow, normal hours, so I will wrap up the last few pics from driving back tomorrow. Also, check back later this week for photos I pull off the Nikon 5200 and possibly some video clips.

Re: TR 4-18 June RT: SAT-ABQ-LAS-LAX pics as we go

Day 15 & 16 -- Travel days
Destination: Albuquerque (15) and home, San Antonio (16)

I leave my airbnb pad pretty early, around 0700 and head for one last stop in Las Vegas. I had read that the Lucky Dragon hotel and casino had just opened up in December so I wanted to make sure I got by to check out the newest casino to open up on the strip. If you have never heard of this place, don't feel bad it is a very small casino with a definitive Asian theme including a noodle house with glass walls, "EZ" Baccarat and red everywhere. I wasn't staying long, played a little Baccarat, started a new shoe and Banker went on a 10 hand streak and it was time to go. The players were shocked I was leaving with such a massive banker streak underway. Gaming wise, yeah, it would make more sense to stay and keep $50 on banker for a few more hands, but I had a 9 hour drive to go and wanted to get underway. I, of course, became a member of the, clearly, esteemed Dragon Club.

I will say, for a $15 minimum table, they were very willing to allow players to squeeze the cards, bend, rip, crease, crumple and throw around the cards. Most places only allow that kind of action for $25 or $100 min bet on the table. This adds to the drama and therefore the fun, so I thought that was cool.

I listened to a little bit more of Zach Elwood's "Verbal Poker Tells" audio book on the drive, as well as mixing in some of Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn" audio book -- both are expert level body language and tactical small talk books. While "Thrawn" is, technically, science fiction, Mr. Zahn puts real effort into conveying real body language, micro expression and verbal tells interpretation as a major component to the story.

Finally, I arrive in Albuquerque. I check into my residence for the evening and head out to Sandia for one last hurrah at the end of this trip.

From the travel day two weeks ago, I know they run a 10-20 Omaha game as their room's feature game on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the game broke and ended before my arrival, so I took the 4-8 O/8 game with a half-kill instead. The skid continued. Some very interesting characters on the table tonight, personalities that really do make the game better. Table broke about 2 hours in and it was pretty late -- time to get sleep before the completion of the drive the next day.

Next morning - time for the final drive back. But first, there is a great little shop across the street for some fuel ...

I start the drive a little later than expected, but I got more rest than planned also. The drive is pretty uneventful and smooth. Mostly clear skies, except for one stretch around the NM / Texas border where some dust was stirred up and lowered visibility for about a half hour of the drive.

This is passing through Roswell, NM. Yes, the setting for a 90s teen drama featuring a now far more famous Katherine Heigel. Also the location of an actual UFO museum, which was a focal point of the TV show, though the fictional version was extremely high tech and fancy whereas the real one is ... well ... not. On the main roads heading into town, they have these markers (you may need to download and zoom in -- its just behind the truck).

I arrive back at home, sadly, too late to celebrate Father's Day with my kids whom are already asleep, but I arrive back safely none the less.

Trip Report Concluded.
4-18 June, travel from San Antonio to Albuquerque to Las Vegas to Los Angeles and back again.

Still coming: Final analysis once I organize and crunch numbers (not specifics but I will give + / - for categories and such) and photos and videos taken with my Nikon 5200 (all pictures to far are from my iPhone). It just takes a little extra time to pull pics off the 5200 and go through them.

Thanks for reading!

Here are two short videos walking down Freemont street. WARNING: The quality is not good. This is a hand held DSLR with no fancy equipment so it is very bouncy/choppy/hard to watch.

Downtown #2

Photo dump from Nikon, WSOP version

This was the featured table at the point of the $10,000 Omaha 8 or better championship game was down to two tables, I believe 16 were left when most of these shot were taken.

In this shot, Abe is sitting back from the table a bit. Pick the right spots and you might win this thing, sir.

In this shot, I believe Dan is talking to a PokerNews reporter about a hand.

In this shot, Mikey was going off on a story tangent of some type and it was really irritating Max who perhaps exchanged back that Mikey should consider ceasing his story telling, in slightly more forceful language.

In this shot Dan is all in. While this is not his bust out hand, that occurs fairly soon after.

Here are a few from the Secondary Feature Table in the same event (10k O/8)

DNegs of course finished #2 in this event.

One of many former IT end-liners who converted to poker pro. Well done on a deep run, Owais.

Here are a few random shots around the Pavilion.

The dealer in this pic looks fantastic like a mix between a bad Elvis impersonator and a 70s guido.

Yes! Exactly. This dealer certainly had a personal style I just had to capture.

TR Wrap up / summary / observations

Tournaments: $1,990 entry fees, $0 won; net -$$$$

Cash Games
Non-specific totals

By city
Albuquerque: -$$$
Las Vegas: +$$$
Los Angeles: -$$$$

By Venue
Bellagio: +$$$
Bike: -$$$$
Commerce: -$$$$
Flamingo: -$$$
Golden Nugget: -$$$
Harrahs: +$$$
Hustler: +$$$
Mirage: -$$$
Orleans: -$$
PH: -$$
Red Rock: -$$
Santa Fe: +$$
South Point: -$$$
Venetian: -$$$
WSOP Cash: +$$$
Wynn: +$$$$

By Game Type
No Limit Hold 'em - as my least favorite and the game I tried to avoid, I manage a small W +$$$
Limit Hold 'em (won 3x the NL total): +$$$
Omaha (FLO8): +$$$
Pot Limit Omaha (hard to get unburied from that "bad beat" hand from Commerce): -$$$$
Mixed Game: +$$$

Summary
* Confirmed, still terrible at tournaments
* Wynn is 100% absolute favorite room. Not only well above average results, but they spread games I like to play such as 5-5 PLO and this 9-18 mixed game. Also, had a fun time at the 5-10 game. The overall room is just awesome also -- large tables, space between tables and seats, nice lighting, interesting art. Chairs need some help, but I guess you can't have it all.
* After a few years of trying my hand at WSOP cash games, I finally found games I could win at and feel like I have a chance to do well. I will definitely be back.
* Playing against players who are willing to Fold 'Em is actually kinda fun in NLHE; thank you 5-10. Playing against tanked drunks is still walking a land mine -- turned out positive this trip though.
* Enjoyed several new venues I visited for the first time include Hustler and Red Rock
* Picked up about 12 new chips for my collection - yay

Overall trip was in the negative, dollar results wise. Hard to overcome $2k in tourney buy-ins AND a big flop day at Commerce. My net negative though, was about half of both of those combined, despite other small hits as well, so the catch up was not too bad, just couldn't get out of that big hole from those two items. All I have to do is stop crunching in as many chips as possible at 88% to win and I'll be golden. Also, keep listening to that little voice that says -- hey man you are up get up and go bro. I would be +$$$ more if I had listened to that voice at the Orleans. Still working on that one for sure.

Elbow rubbing highlights
* Met Brad Owen, poker vlogger and subscriber hunter
* Met Tim Watts "Trooper", OG LVL vlogger
* Met Veronica Brill, host/commentator Stones Live
* Met Lon McEachern, WSOP commentator
* Met Joey Ingram, poker podcaster of the year
* Met Bikeking, poker vlogger
* Met Raymond Davis, Real Grinder
* Played against a Sammy Hagar / Gavin Smith doppelganger
* Met Wendy Weismann 'TheHammah', Ashley 'kuningaz', Matt Boyd 'Avoidthe9to5', Courtney 'LiberalChick', Brian 'watbri204', and Joey 'JimmyBluffet' all from Twitch/Twitter and Live at the Bike regular viewership
* Bet Big, Won Big, Lost Big
* Almost ran over Doug Polk while he was filming a vlog at the Rio just before the final table sat for the One Drop. Luckily looked up from my phone just in time. Might've been pretty funny to have him troll me if I did run into him though. Maybe next time . . .
* Thanked Alan Kessler for helping to convince the TD to not have antes in the PLO rounds of the DC game.

Overall, emotionally / psychologically this trip was waaaaay in the positive. First WSOP bracelet event donated to, first limits played above 12-24 limit / 2-5 no limit. First time being able to play a Mixed Game every day (or at least had the option - most previous trips I could find like 1 per week, part of this was expanding limits too). Definitely the first trip where I came out ahead in all games except one.

I have up coming trips to the DC area in a about a month and back to LA over Labor Day. I hope to continue to successful trends in those places.

Thanks for reading!
