Oh yeah forgot I can use my Reward Credits once I hit 15k Diamond to get into the Diamond Lounge. At least it will seem or feel like I'm not paying to get in. Even better if they end up not charging me.

Diamond lounges are (or at least were) great for pregaming with some actual mixed drinks rather than seeing the floor waitress pass your machine once an hour tops

Lmao never had this experience at the Diamond lounge bar. The depressing part of the DL is the herd of geriatrics going through the buffet line and sitting at the tables. Everyone at the bar is there to get loaded and have a great time.

Had a buddy who was having a bachelor party in Vegas a couple years back and him and his dad flew in a day early along with me. Convinced the host at the Paris diamond lounge to let both my guests in as it was their first time in Vegas. We sat at the bar and got excellent service by the awesome bartenders there for at least three hours. Demolished at least 50 chicken wings between the three of us and countless bourbons, top shelf margaritas, and vodka Red Bulls while watching hockey and basketball.

Easily one of my favorite Vegas memories over the many trips I’ve taken in the past ten years. Neither guy is a big gambler so giving them that experience for $0 +tip was pretty great. Founders card diamond paid for itself that one afternoon.

Rest of the trip I would grab one of the ~12 guys away from the group and go hit up the diamond lounge and treat them to a similar experience for a shorter period of time. Was tons of fun.

Anyway this is long winded way of saying different strokes for different folks. If you say diamond is pointless or diamond lounge access is worthless you’re not being truthful if not only talking about yourself.

Some of us aren't cheapskates and don't mind the $100 a night at Vdara (if that much)...

Everyone has a different budget. Believe it or not some people might consider you a cheapskate for buying a $100 room at Vdara......obviously you dont grasp that concept or you wouldnt have typed that inane comment.

comment is hardly inane, especially for those who wanted to get the gold through Mlife and would otherwise have been sucked in by the comment from a poster who claims rooms are too expensive. Mid-tier pricing center strip exists and is an easy way to spin the program to gold, especially if starting with the Pearl from the Mlife credit card.

But you ALSO need to remember that the person to whom I had replied is one of the ones who thinks the credit card fee at WSOP is too much to save the time otherwise spent standing in lines...

When one considers that a good chunk of the Diamond clientele is not getting there from sitting in a poker chair but instead is spinning up (or bought their way in outright through something like Founders Card) and is a tourist, the cost of rooms at someplace like Vdara is NOT a big deal. Some of us worked to get to the point precisely so that we can enjoy life...some day, the 20-and 30-somethings on boards like this might actually understand that reality.

So you mean $150-160 after resort fees and parking. Plus, it looks like a PITA place because there's no casino and I have to travel to have any fun. Can't stand any of the nearby casinos.

You are acting in your response as if you are communicating with someone with an IQ above 100. You aren't. What you are dealing with there is a low end "human" who thinks people between the ages of 20 and 30 don't work. You can't reason with these types of animals. It is best to ignore them. If you have any questions about Diamond or promos, feel free to ask the rest of us sane people.

You guys can’t argue with the condescending elitist highfalutin egotists.

But to make michelle227 feel at home: I fixed his post with a real one:

“Some of us aren’t poor AF and don’t mind the waldorf at $450 a night (if that much)....”

I was wondering why the valet at PH takes forever to pick up my car. I'm Platinum.

I always wondered this and asked them. Out of all the CET properties, PH valet have to park cars much further and thus why it takes forever. Not just cause you're platinum.

Exactly. Think about the layout. At valet pickup you are right at the hotel entrance, with a short walk into the casino. If you park in the garage you have to trek through the Miracle Mile before you get to the casino.

No parking fee since 1) I already have the Pearl status through the FNBO Mlife credit card and 2) I won't have a car with me in the first place. Resort fee is generally waived, but even if it wasn't, the extra $35-40 is not a deal breaker especially since those points are tripled with the card, which aids in the spinning up to gold (and thus the status match promo).

Does this mean you have walked back your comments from 2017 where you claimed the fee was too much and could not be recovered sufficiently through rewards programs?

If the Waldorf were to become part of the mlife program, then it would be an exceptionally easy way for someone to spin the Pearl to Gold and, from there, to the TR status match. Location is exceptional given the proximity to the Aria.

The match offer is something that works well for the traveler...and given the ease of spinning up from the Pearl level you get just for GETTING the FNBO credit card, $450 a night, tripled as would exist for mlife-specific spend, would easily allow one to get to Gold with a short vacation.

For the rewards whore, it is about maximizing the spend. One can EASILY get to gold without having to warm a poker seat for a few hundred hours. That point is lost on some...as is the fact that some people enjoy reaping the rewards of the few decades spent in the workforce.

I was under the impression that you got to Pearl and possibly gold via the MGM credit card and additional MGM related purchases. Also that the resorts fee was generally waived for you. Maybe I'm reading too much into your situation.

So was wondering if someone in a similar situation ( no slots or pit games ) would be able to talk to a host and generally get it waived.

Pearl comes for ANYONE who has the MGM card. I had a few Aria tournaments attached to the rewards card (not the credit card, since Aria was not set up to allow entries to be charged like WSOP has done). I also had a few different stays at Aria and Vdara, hence my comments about cardholders being able to easily spin the card into Gold status. And obviously, once spun to gold, one can now flip that to the TR Diamond with the promo kicking off in a week or so...

I have some slot play and some pit play with MGM properties, but not a whole lot. And by not a whole lot, I mean less than a grand for a buy-in when sitting at a blackjack table or maybe $200 cycled through a $10 slot on a given trip. The majority of 'play' associated with the MGM card is from swiping in at a poker table...

The worst that happens when asking is they say 'no.'

Find something to complain about. I've gone to the front desk and told them about spotty Wifi, dirty gym, etc. and I'm 100% so far. Also dated an employee for a short time, that got them taken off as well. Apparently they have a ton of leeway; they'd just rather you not know that, obv.

You could probably get your room comped if you said you found a used condom under your pillow, it doesn't make it the right thing to do.

Lol @ the usual cast of ******s frothing at the mouth over my post. I never said I made anything up; the WiFi WAS spotty, and the gym WAS dirty (towels all over the floor, with no clean ones available). But yeah, I'm really sure the maid got deported back to El Salvador because of my complaint.

Anyone know if all CET properties offer the same tier credits per hour? Seeing 34 at Caesar's and the Rio, wondering if they're all 34, or if some others are more/less.
Total Rewards Diamond Status Match Promo Quote

Caesars properties give 17 tier points in hour for 1/2 poker except Caesars which is 34 tier an hour. Rio gives 34 an hour for the 2/3 blind game that rarely goes anymore so if you play 1/2 at Rio its 17 an hour.
