Las Vegas - Day Two

Started off the day trying to hit Denny’s. Nope - that failed miserably as the line was at least 30 minutes long and I’m not waiting for ****ing Denny’s. Ended up just eating at Starbucks, but could be worse I guess. Literally nothing is open for breakfast here. Well, it probably is but I’m impatient and hate waiting.

Ended up hitting the nature reserve at mirage. The place is beautiful and the dolphin training is out of this world. Def feel bad for them though.

After that is was time for some Pokerz. Played a short 2 hour session with no interesting hands. Ended up losing 600 - I would show you a cool pic of a starting stack which was about as high as we got, but I won’t.

After that is was time for dinner before our long night session. Had a steak breakfast. Amazing.

In our first interesting hand a Middle Aged grindery player makes it 40 to go from MP1, and a recreational player calls. We complete from the BB with K9 and go to a flop of Q73 we check, and it checks through. The turn comes the 9 and we lead out for 60. Only the preflop caller calls, and the raiser folds. The river is the 7 and we check. Villain bets 200 and we call, and are good.

Our next interesting hand comes when a player raises UTG to 30. We look down at A A and make it 90. The BTN cold calls and UTG comes along as well. The flop comes J33 and UTG checks. We check as well and so does the BTN. We see a 9 on the turn and UTG leads 110. We call and BTN folds. The river is the T UTG checks and has 530 behind. I decide to let him get dinner and wager 500. He makes the call and we’re good.

OuR good fortune continues when MP1 makes it 40 to go, and we call with 22 on the button. We go to a flop of Q44 MP1 bets 50 and we call. The turn is the K and he makes it 100. We forgot our fold button at home today though, I don’t think he got the memo. The river is the 3 and it goes ch/ch. we’re good.

Before all was said and done we had to give some back though.

With a straddle on, MP makes it 60 to go, and it folds to us in the SB with A3. We haven’t 3bet once all day at this new table, and we make it 210. He calls and we see a flop of AT7 we check and he bets 180. We make the call and see a 6 on the turn. We check again and so does he. The river is the 4 and we check again. He bets 540 and although we have underreport our hand I never see people take this line as a bluff and we lay it down.

In our final interacting hand we open T7 from the CO to 30. Only the BB calls and we go to a flop of T74. He checks to us and we continue for 30. He c/r to 110 and we just flat. The turn is the A and he leads for 220. We call again and see a J on the river. He checks to us. Now my heart told me to check back, but we decide to go for a weird thin value and bet 190. He tanks for 2 minutes and makes it 950. Yep - I’m a ****ing idiot, and fold.

After that it was time to get out of there and hit the sack for some sleep. Back at it tomorrow.

Ended up playing with the Legend himself for about 4 hours. I think there’s a 0 percent chance we’ll be making the VLOG as we played one (not interesting hand together) the guy is obviously a very solid player. Also a very nice guy, but I do feel a bit bad for him, as it’s tough to focus when people are coming up to you wanting to chat every 15 mins.

It's non-sensible for a poker grinder to spend a lot of money on travel and accommodations. Non-sensibility is why most of the poker community is broke.

Insane Action At The B - Las Vegas Day Three.

Started off the day by visiting the welcome to Las Vegas sign, and then walked towards the strip. Also finally hit the apothecary, a recreational marijuana spot! Also had in N out burgers for the first time which did not disappoint. And of course, insane action at the B!

In our first interesting hand we see a raise from a recreational player in MP to 25. We decide to just flat OTB with AQ and go to a flop of Q89. Villain fires 30 again and we make the call. The turn comes the 5 and this time villain checks to us. We make a wager of 65 and v check raises to 220. We make the call and see a K on the river. This time v fires out 400 and we make the fold.

After being stuck a good amount early after this hand we pick up 99 in the SB. There are 3 limps to us and we bump it up to 40. The the UTG limper who we have covered (800) calls, and the CO Limper who is an OMC (290) makes it 90. We call and UTG calls and we see a flop of 9J2. It checks to OMC who makes it 100. We call and so does UTG. The turn is the J and we check. UTG comes out and bets 200. OMC calls, we jam, and UTG calls. The river is a brick and we’re good against AJ.

After getting moved from the must move we get moved to a not so good game. The 2/5 games as well as the only 5/T at the Wynn looked horrendous, so we decided to head over to the Bellagio. With 5 5/T games running it was hard to go wrong.

In our first interesting hand at the must move we are involved when it folds to us in the SB and we complete with Q9. The BB makes it 40, we call and go to a flop of QT8. The flop goes check/check and we see a Q on the turn. We check again, and so does v. The river is the A and we lead for 140. V thinks for a bit and calls. We’re good.

Our next interesting hand comes when we make it 40 to go with AQ from the HJ and are called by two recreational players in the CO and BTN. We see a flop of A63. We decide to check, the CO checks and the BTN bets 80. We call and so does the CO. The turn brings us the 8 and we check again, and so does the CO. This time the BTN bets again, this time 200. We call and CO folds. The river is the Q and we check one more time. V bets 200 and we call, and lose to K9

Later on we get into a game with Andrew Neeme! After we are moved from the must move we get moved to his table. Didn’t even know he was at the table, as he was away when I was moved, but finally the man in the 2 seat showed it up and it was him! I will not be getting on the vlog, I’m sure of that as we played no interesting hands. We are in for 3k, with a 1.5k stack when the action becomes insane.

In our first interesting hand at the new table we raise KK from UTG+1. MP, BTN, and the blinds call. We go to a flop of QJ2:diamond. The blinds check to us and we bet 130. Only a recreational OTB calls with 1k behind. We go to a 8 turn, and this time make it 200. He calls again and we see a 5 on the river. We check, and v bets 340. I don’t love it but it’s definitely a call against this V. The first card I see is the A which sinks my stomach a bit. But the second card is the K and we take it down.

Next, we open AJ to 40 UTG. A recreational, and an ABC young reg OTB calls. We go to a flop of 534 and lead out for 60. Both players call. The turn saves the day, the J we decide to check, and the recreational behind us wagers 100. The BTN calls and we decide to put in a raise for value, making it 400. Only the BTN calls and we see a 3 on the river. We check, v checks back and we’re good.

The big pots were NOT over. There is a straddle on, a limp in the CO, and we make it 90 from the SB with 77. The Straddle makes it 190. We are 3.2 eff and he has us covered. The limper folds and we call. The flop is quite favorable as my new table mate would say - 73T. We check and hope to let V hang himself. He wagers 200 and we call. The turn is the 5. We check to him again and this time he wagers 600. We just call again and see a 2 on the river. We decide to lead for 1100 to target hands he may check back with here, as I don’t think he’ll have pure air here as played. He tanks awhile and folds.

Just one orbit later there are two limps, and a straightforward middle aged female regular makes it 50 from the CO. We flat in the SB with JJ since we have a big action player in the BB as well as one of the limpers. We end up going 4 way to a flop of J87. It checks to the original raiser who has us covered. We have ~3k. She wagers 210. We make it 520, and only she calls. The turn is the Q. This time we decide to go smaller, 480. She quickly calls and we see a 7 on the river. We jam river for about a PSB and she folds. We’ll take it. Still not sure what she could have and as played.

In our final hand of the day, we raise AA to 40 from MP after a whale limps UTG. The CO, who is another whale calls and so does the limper. We go to a flop 4 way of K86 UTG checks, we wager 80 and MP makes it 220. UTG folds, and we jam for 1.2k. He has so many worse hands that I don’t think he’s capable of folding. He thinks for 3-4 seconds, calls, and we lose to 88 after the board runs out two blanks.

All in all, got to play in some great games and have great memories to come home with. Success in my book.

Recovery - Las Vegas Day Four.

Although we’re in Vegas, it’s still Football Sunday. That meant a recovery day on day four to give the legs some rest for walking around all day. After searching around for a bit we were finally able to find some open seats at the Cromwell Sports Book. Not the nicest of them all, but definitely a low key nice room. Ended up torching 200 in there, but was able to make that back in the Poker rooms.

The B has gotten enough of our love, so we over to the Aria in search of some good games. The 5/T looked horrific (as expected) so we sat at the 2/5. The game actually was basically a 5/T as 8/9 players were straddling. Cool with me.

In our first interesting hand there’s a straddle to 10, and an open to 35 UTG +1. It folds to us and we call OTB with 22. In what was basically the first hand to not go 5 way for 35 dollars, we go to a flop heads up of Q8T. This time V fires out 40 and we call. We see a 9 on the turn and he fires again, for 105. Just not understanding how he could ever have a 10 here we decide he’s full of **** and make it 320. He folds instantly.

In our next interesting hand an action player playing 99/99 (no joke) makes it 40 over a straddle. We have 3bet him 4 times this orbit alone so we have a crazy image. This time we decide to just call and go heads up to a flop of 654. He checks and we check back. The turn is the K and our villain bets 75. We make the call and see an 8 on the river. Villain bets 100 with 500 behind. We stick it all in and he makes the call with 65o.

After that, it was time for dinner and we hit the homie Gordon Ramsay’s burgers. Place was phenomenal for sure. After we ate it was time to hit the B for the night. Only played one interesting hand. Other than this hand we could not get anything going at all, losing small pot after small pot for a few hours.

A recreational player opens to 40 from the CO and we look down at 98 OTB. We make it 110 to go, and he calls. We go to a flop of 542 He checks to us and we make it 75. He makes the call and we see an 8 on the turn. This time, he does not check and leads out for 180. We make the call and see the 6 on the river. This time he wagers 350. We call and are good.

What did you have when maniac had 65o? I assume point was you were playing against him having air and trying to let him build a pot for you to steal?
