While he may not be the one working there anymore, I assume he'd still know some tricks for getting the most out of your vegas stay and could probably load up his hooker and blow reward cards at the same time
I mean, if we were to GTO solve being a degen in Vegas for a week he'd probably be a able to start a training site with all his experience.
I'm always down to try to help out where I can. Keep in mind, I've been gone for about two years now, and Vegas is a town where change is constant, so some of the things that worked for me, YMMV.
About who to tip-
Everyone has their hand out, myself included when I was there. Everyone is way more willing to help out a customer when there is an incentive for us.
So, first off, you have to tip cash. There is no "I'll get you later" (looking at you, Jean Robert Bellande), don't tip in weed or try to give me your lefover beer either.
So if you want to get into a club/pool? Easiest way to do it is to grab a host. You want to word your conversation as such - "I'd like to get into this club as fast as possible, not wait in line, and I'd like to go thru you. What do we have to do to make this happen?".
You can't roll up and directly throw a number out. You also have to word it this way so the host can accurately quote you his 'fee'. He's going to ask how many people in your party, and how many girls. He'll give you a number based on that.
If he's not able to, he'll say sorry, you have to wait in line. That's usually code meaning that the boss is watching or they're already at capacity.
I made quite a few tips working at Beach Club because the hosts were in a specialized area and regular people couldn't cross our velvet ropes. So people would ask me, and I'd tell them they'd have to give me $20 just to get access to talk to the person, and whatever they decided was on them.
I made easily 100-150ish per day at beach club working the lines. Be discreet, don't wave money around, be cool.
So back when I worked Uber wasn't really around yet. However, if you want to skip the cab line, you can do it two ways. Usually when you walk outside there's a guy asking if you need a cab, or want a limo.
That's the guy to tip if you want to skip the cab line. "Hey, I need a cab, but don't want to wait in line. How about I give you a firm handshake and you call me one?" Firm handshake = cash. A little knowing wink never hurts either.
As security I got asked all the time too, and I would just pocket the cash and tell the people outside that we were trespassing you from the property and they couldn't really question it. The guys outside would get furious when security made any tips, they were crazy greedy about every dollar.
What else...hotel upgrades, everyone knows about the $20 trick, so that's easy.
Also usually if you have any comp dollars you can usually get into the VIP lines. For instance at Aria, if you have any dollars on your players card, you can get the voucher and then go to the Buffet upstairs and go in the special line, not the regular one. You can even do this if your voucher is for only $2.00.
It's the regular people working at the hotel that don't share tips that you should take care of. Dealers pool their tips and can't ever leave their table, so they can't do anything for you.
Guys working the cab stand, security, hosts, housekeeping, cashiers, whatever, CASH IS KING.
Wages aren't great so if you help them out, they'll help you out, I guarantee it.
Should be common knowledge here on 2p2 that going to any strip club, it's easy to just call, have their limo pick you up and get free entry.
A little story time, don't remember if I told this story in the thread before.
Met a guy one night, rolling solo right around NYE. We got to talking and he was telling me about wanting to go to a strip club. I tell him I have some hookups around town, and if he takes care of me, I'll take care of him.
So I call the Rhino with him standing next to me, and pretend to be a host.
"Hi, this is Katana, I'm a host here at the Wynn. I have one of my high level clients here, and he'd like to come visit your club. Can you please send a limo and make sure John Q Customer is well taken care of?"
I hang up, tell him the limo is there in 10, and he looks at me in amazement. Hands me a black chip and says thanks, catches his limo. I did this numerous times while working there.
That same guy I saw again the next night, NYE. He wanted to go to XS as they were having a huge party, but the line was hours long and they wanted 300/person. He comes up to me again, and asks what I can do.
I quote him like 200, and tell him I'll get him in. He shakes my hand with the chips enclosed, and I just walk him in around the back side of Encore, thru the pool area. Other security stops me and asks what I'm doing, and I just say I'm escorting a guest looking for his friend.
Walk into the club, turn to him, say, ok, you're in, get lost and have fun.
And that's how we make extra $$ in Vegas.
side note : Schu was right, I'm currently traveling to Thailand for 6 months and will be training muay thai full time. I will still answer questions however if they come up, I'll keep an eye on the thread.
