Do you work with a partner or are you on your own?

If you saw someone cheating the casino or other players would you alert someone or is that out of your realm.

Work on my own, but overall it's a large team of guys working different areas.

As far as cheating goes, that's way out of my scope. I don't deal with any sort of gaming at all (except maybe removing someone from a table). The dealer looks for anything out of the ordinary, she can notify the pit boss, and when that happens surveillance takes over and analyzes everything. Pretty standard practice.

Glad I got some positive responses so far!

Holy **** this is great. Got better when i thought everyone who was subscribing was making a free subway sub joke.

Surprised you guys can't kick put hookers unless a guest complains. What are the odds that your casino would allow Clark county to Pose undercover as hookers in the casino? Has to be lose to zero, right? I'm uhhhh... I'm asking for a friend

PS..great thread idea, looking forward to this, subbed!

Cool thread, really looking forward to more stories!

What separates your duties/responsibilities from the regular uniformed security? Is there a level of security above you ?

Subbed, think this is the perfect job of Katana from what I have seen from his personality on this forum - besides not being able to chase some tail and knock back some shots with casino patrons.

Haha, had a look at the first and last page of your last thread, will read the rest later but some contrast. I feel like we should start analyzing your security skills and telling you that your thought process is all wrong and you wont last 5 minutes etc. Great idea for a thread, looking forward to more!

Yeah, this thread is going to be great! Can't wait to read more.

Katana, are you allowed to keep chips that patrons toss you or do you have to split them like the dealers?

Little bit of both. Sometimes you're assigned a post and have to stay there. Those suck. Guarding an entrance for a few hours becomes mind numbingly boring. Some guys like those, but I try to volunteer for being out on the floor as often as possible. If you have no assigned post you're free to roam and be proactive in helping people.
We also do chip fills and help in other areas. We're sort of all purpose in a way.

There are a few different levels. I don't think I can really say much about it though. There are uniformed peeps, guys in suits, undercover guys dressed as patrons, and the managers.

We can keep them since we're not dealers and our income is not gratuity based. Tips seem to be few and far between though, the roulette guy was my only tip so far.

So I just got off and last night wasn't that eventful. Midweek is pretty slow and it starts to pick up Thursday night and run strong until Monday.

---I get a call about a guest passed out in the hallway. I go up there, and this guy is snoring and just passed out. Luckily, his wife was the one that called and she just needed help getting him in the room.
Kicker is, her hubby was a pretty big boy. I'd say pushing about 350lbs, and just sloppy drunk.
I call another guy to come help me, not only because I need help lifting him but anytime we go in a guest room there has to be somebody else there.

Long story short we dragged this big guy into his room, each of us grabbing an arm and pulling him in there, him moaning the whole time. I'd say his chances of having rugburn on his gut are hovering around 100%.

We sit him up, and kinda flip him into bed and leave. Dealing with drunken fools is the norm at this job.

---Had to kick out a few homeless people from the sportsbook. They like to go in there and just hang out. I feel bad doing it, but surprisingly, didn't get any pushback from them at all.

---Asian people. Holy hell, do Asians do some serious gambling. Saw a guy tonight lose $1 million betting $50k/hand playing baccarat while I was watching the high limit room. First he went up, then down, but eventually went busto.

So generally, slow night tonight. Instead of doing a daily recap I think I'll wait until I have a few gems and then post them.

Great thread!

I know you said you can't say where you work but would you describe it as a lower end property, a mid tier or a high end place.

Also, have you had any big winners that you need to provide security for? If so, what does that entail?

I'm not going to really describe it at all, sorry. I want to, but a piece of info here, a piece there, next thing you know company HR has this thread on their desk. And ain't nobody got time for that.

As far as escorting, I've done one of those. Some woman won pretty big one night at a table and didn't feel comfortable riding the elevators with all her cash, so I just escorted her to her room and that was it. Nothing eventful.

I'm interested in the Metro under cover thing as well, mainly how much you guys know about it. Saw two under cover cops arresting/talking to a guy at Harrah's, and security was there. They were talking about a drug deal so it was probably a sting/set up situation, but it made me curious if metro under covers hung out in casino regularly.
