Little bit of both. Sometimes you're assigned a post and have to stay there. Those suck. Guarding an entrance for a few hours becomes mind numbingly boring. Some guys like those, but I try to volunteer for being out on the floor as often as possible. If you have no assigned post you're free to roam and be proactive in helping people.
We also do chip fills and help in other areas. We're sort of all purpose in a way.

There are a few different levels. I don't think I can really say much about it though. There are uniformed peeps, guys in suits, undercover guys dressed as patrons, and the managers.

We can keep them since we're not dealers and our income is not gratuity based. Tips seem to be few and far between though, the roulette guy was my only tip so far.
So I just got off and last night wasn't that eventful. Midweek is pretty slow and it starts to pick up Thursday night and run strong until Monday.
---I get a call about a guest passed out in the hallway. I go up there, and this guy is snoring and just passed out. Luckily, his wife was the one that called and she just needed help getting him in the room.
Kicker is, her hubby was a pretty big boy. I'd say pushing about 350lbs, and just sloppy drunk.
I call another guy to come help me, not only because I need help lifting him but anytime we go in a guest room there has to be somebody else there.
Long story short we dragged this big guy into his room, each of us grabbing an arm and pulling him in there, him moaning the whole time. I'd say his chances of having rugburn on his gut are hovering around 100%.
We sit him up, and kinda flip him into bed and leave. Dealing with drunken fools is the norm at this job.
---Had to kick out a few homeless people from the sportsbook. They like to go in there and just hang out. I feel bad doing it, but surprisingly, didn't get any pushback from them at all.
---Asian people. Holy hell, do Asians do some serious gambling. Saw a guy tonight lose $1 million betting $50k/hand playing baccarat while I was watching the high limit room. First he went up, then down, but eventually went busto.
So generally, slow night tonight. Instead of doing a daily recap I think I'll wait until I have a few gems and then post them.
