I'm sure they did. It's the only sensible thing to do.

Was in town during Game 1 and 2. Long story short, met this drunk ass from NJ who had a $400 futures on the Knights at 300-1 earlier in the season (120k), saw it for proof, said he placed it when he was drunk at a game earlier in the season.

Later I find out this was the single largest exposure any book had on a Knights future. If he was drunk before wonder what happened after, don't think he had it hedged. I was pissed on a 10 to 1 future I had personally on the Knights, but I think about that and can't imagine lol. Good times in town despite the absolute beatdown the entire Finals, wasn't even a series.

1. He played so well to get us there
2. Defense let him down
3. Other team was just better

The guy **** the bed when you needed him most, get used to it.

Keep in mind, I was rooting for you.

Why not give Washington credit instead? None of the other goalies could stop them. Expecting him to shut down the opposing offense when they were getting too many high quality scoring chances is silly IMO. The entire defense doesn’t just rely on one guy.

And without Fleury the team could have easily lost to San Jose. He made a couple of brilliant saves in OT to keep the team from going down 2-1 in that series.

We have two of the last three Cups, and our coach. We will somehow choke back the tears.

You're good but you are completely wrong about Fleury. Bar none, he was an epic expansion pick (GOAT) and he become the franchise Knights player at 33.

The whole Vegas story is simply ****ing amazing so let up on Fleury dude.

Oh right, and how many rings does he have with the Pens. Seriously Penfan....give it a rest. Three rings!

Congrats to you Vegas hockey newbies for a great run!

Yes, congrats to the Vegas fans, hell of a run.

I can, with facts, dispute your praising of Fleury.

GOAT expansion pick? Sure, won't argue that.

Three Cups? Technically, yes, but in reality the team in front of him won the 09 Cup as evidenced by him having the worst save percentage of any Cup winning goalie during the playoff season of said Cup. The worst, period. The team in front of him just managed to outscore the opponent.

2016? The one he got benched in the playoffs for trying to kill us like he did in 2012 and Matt Murray came in to win the thing? I mean, I guess that counts as a second, but, really?

2017? Yep, he played some games and played well while Murray was hurt, but it was still Murray in net for the majority of the wins. Give him credit for that one if you want, I guess.

The guy has been the benefactor of some very good teams in front of him and played well enough to not kill his team, except when he didn't in 2012 and several first round matchups along the way.

Likable guy, good in the community and won't make headlines for being in trouble. Good face for the franchise, but Jacques Plante he is not.

I'm not gonna lie, it's rough. You do feel like you are missing out on some things, but then you attend your 5th Stanley Cup parade and somehow find a way to trudge on.

Thanks for caring.

Actually Fleury won more games than Murray in the 2017 playoffs.

In games 6 & 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals that year, Pittsburgh won by scores of 2-1 and 2-1. So IMO that wasn’t as true as you suggest. And Fleury made a great save at the end of game 7 to win it.

That's at least SOME selective memory you have there. Sure, game 6 & 7 the entire defense packed it in and won low scoring games, but how do you ignore the 48 goals he gave up in the three series prior to that? 48 Goals against in 17 PLAYOFF games!

If a team can advance through three rounds while their goalie gives up that many goals I think it's more than fair to say the team in front of him just managed to outscore the opponent.
