And the policy would still be to give them the money to get the gun out of the casino as quickly as possible.

I was thinking about this, for all you up-and-comping Danny Oceans out there. Would it be a good strategy to leave the premises in something noticeable like the above, but then drive to other casino/mall/McCarran -- anyway, some huge parking structure. Once there, jump in the Camry you've pre-placed.

Everybody's out looking for the noticeable car, and you drive right by in the generic oldsmobile.

(Not sure if those parking structure have cameras all over and the switch would be captured on video).

Just saw that a guy with a gun tonight tried to rob Ellis Island casino cage. The employee backed away and the guy fled with no money. lol

Is that like a reverse Freeroll?

Don't try this at home. But best way to get away is park a box truck somewhere. Do the robbery then escape on a motorcycle, ride up into the box truck then drive the truck away.

I was already thinking that, it was from a movie, "The Place Beyond the Pines".

Being in a noticeable car at any point after a robbery would be a bad idea IMO.

Nevertheless, you suggested using "some huge parking structure".

There is a big desert out there without cameras all over the place, btw.

A bank here was robbed three times in four months at a few locations and the old black guy kept just getting away. On the last attempt, a witness got a license plate and when police went to the house, they notified the young white kid they thought his car had been stolen. Asked if they could look around. Car was actually gone, and he was shocked, As they looked in the garage they found his Hollywood style make up kit in trash, of an old black man.

If idiot didnt drive his own car he would still be robbing banks. Best part, at the second robbery, he stopped a cop next store to the bank and made a donation "for the kids".

Robbing a casino is dead easy. It's not getting caught eventually that's hard. But it always takes a few days. I'm surprised nobody from Mexico has come over, robbed a casino, then immediately drive home never to step foot in the US again.

Easy money?

what about just getting a different license plate and switching them out?

Average sentence for bank robbery is ~5 years. Armed Casino robbery in Nevada? you will never see daylight again.

Right, I was thinking misdirection of "get them to notice the flashy car, then switch to the plain one", and there's these parking structures all over LV to make the switch.

I like your idea even better though. Especially from some place like South Point, you're already kind of out in the desert.

Ocean Spray or whatever his name was that robbed Bellagio cage got a minimum of 3 years. To say you’ll never see the light of day if convicted of armed casino robbery just isn’t true

Patrick Seth Jones robbed the Royal Palace Casino got 165 years.

Jacorey Taylor robbed the Klondike in Henderson, go life no parole

The Bellagio Bandit, Anthony Carleo got 27 years

47-year-old Duane Burchill got 50 years for robbing a Bozeman, MT casino

Most likely the casino owners will have them 'taken care of' while in prison.

Facts cannot be posted on the internet if they are not true.

One cannot always rely on the media for sentencing...not at all uncommon to see multiple offenses being served concurrently yet the media still likes to add up the numbers for headline purposes. This is the reason that Carleo does not actually have a 27 year sentence.

My guess is that the 165 year sentence is similar.

I have to admit that I was surprised that Nevada was so soft on crime...a basic jewelry store robbery near my lake house resulted in a 60-year sentence for one defendant and 40 for another. The third surviving defendant has yet to be sentenced. Nevada likely would have given them a few years...

Indeed!

Carleo got 3-11 for Bellagio and 6-16 for Suncoast, running consecutively for 9-27 years.

Jacorey Taylor also murdered two people.

Duane Burchill robbed it twice and had a 30-year long rap sheet.

Patrick Seth Jones seemed to have made the error of committing a takeover armed robbery in Louisiana. Bad idea.

People that commit armed robbery probably already have been involved in many prior crimes, and since the cops only catch the stupid ones, previous jail time.

Nature of the game, hence the long sentences.
