Solo Trip Report: Wynn (5/25 - 5/28) Solo Trip Report: Wynn (5/25 - 5/28)

Headed back to heaven Friday for another quick solo trip.

It is probable that I will not leave Wynncore at all this trip. I've been peeking at Bravo and it appears the word is out that the Wynn poker room is GOAT level. What time do I have to get there to avoid a ridiculous wait? Planning to play some 5-10 this trip, assuming that runs every day during the series?

5/T+ has been running every day at Wynn. At 2:49AM Monday morning there were only two 1/3 games running (and 4 2/5s) but there was one 5/T (with a waitlist), one 5/T/20 (with a waitlist), one 5/T/20 PLO/NLH, one 1/2 PLO, one 5/5 PLO/ w/Rock, one 50/100 NL, and one 100/200 PLO.

Currently a 2000/4000 mix, not sure what that's about. I guess I'll just wander in around lunch time like always and hope for the best.

Looking forward to this TR. Please keep posting pics.

Wynn's room is typically hopping by Noon.

If you do leave Wynn & want somewhere funky to eat at the bar, take the Uber to Cornish Pasty.

Dth I’m staying at the Wynn during the Main Event for the first time - I thought I read that they’ve returned craps to 3/4/5 odds - is that true?

No idea, sorry. Though last time I was at Encore a girl was playing craps hammered, jumping up and down, and her tits fell out of her bikini, so scenery is a potential offset to the terrible odds.

I assume the Wynn 5-10 plays deep; 2-3k buyin pretty standard? Trying to figure out how much ammo to bring. Probably overly paranoid, but I try to carry as little cash as I have to when flying. All the "civil forfeiture" stuff makes me nervous.

You are in no danger of civil forfeiture flying domestically with cash provided you don’t have narcotics with you.

The Wynn 5/T can vary a lot depending on who is playing in it and what bigger games are running. In general it tends to play deep though. Back when the min-buy was $500 I played in one where nearly everyone at the table bought in for $10k+. That particular game was playing bigger than any of the T/20s I've ever played at Bellagio.

I played at the wynn 30+ hours while i was there (not in 5/T) and the 5/T game often looked like the worst game in the room.

That's technically not true but okay.

lol where have you been?

an agent needs no evidence to seize every penny on you using this statute

they will simply state we believe these monies may have been acquired through illegal means and then will make you jump through hoops and fill out paperwork and you maybe get your money back years later

people have had their life savings taken off of them in airports before

After an exceptionally boring day of work, everything was on time for a 6:00 flight. Preflight meal:

For the first time in my life, the hot girl on the Southwest fight sits next to me. Turns out she is a doctor, never been to Vegas, going for a med school reunion. Saying stuff like "my friends organized this, they say we don't have to pay for stuff just because we're girls, I don't really understand...."

Everything is smooth at the airport, Uber guy gets there in like half the time and I have to run to meet him. It's ****ing hot. He won't shut up and drops me at the wrong entrance. Whatever. Check in is fine, go down for some poker. Try to grind it out but I'm just too tired. Win $50 and go sleep. Random pics:

Random thoughts:

- Wynn 5/T was playing quite large
- The reject tables out in the sports book are pretty weak
- The talent in this place remains absurd

Managed about 4-5 hours of sleep and am now in a 2-5 game. May have to go to Bellagio for 5-10 today.

People who haven’t declared money flying into the country maybe. When you don’t declare cash then you’ve broken the law and lost your right to it. I’ve declared tens of thousands in cash numerous times leaving Atlantis to US Customs agents at the Nassau airport - as many here have - they don’t “take” anything if you just declare it.

You’ll notice I said “domestically” and no, “an agent” can’t seize money and say it’s “maybe” been acquired illegally.

****ing aggressive euros. 6 handed, I 3! QQ to 60, 22 year old scandi with mountains of chips calls. Flop J97 two diamonds (I have none). Check, I bet 80, he makes it 230 or so. Line?

So ignore you call you have a 580 pot with 700 behind? Are you ready to commit? Seems he is smart enough to know that bet size commits you but does that mean he wants you to realize it and fold it just hoping to get you to call the shove?

Has he seen you play? Have you actually seen aggressive play or is this a purely profiled read? The more real data I have the more I’m willing to call. Also, if he has seen you 3 bet a wide range I’m more willing to call (or raise?)

As much as I love Wynn, games were just terrible. Euro crushers everywhere. At Bellagio now.

Yes, 2/5+ games at Wynn tend to be terrible. The best players tend to be drawn to the nicest rooms.

Scandi probably assumes you wouldn't 3 to 60 with weak holdings. Prob has you on AA-JJ & AK. So he can either beat it or he has a big draw (ATdd?). You're in trouble. I would have folded.

Most of the best players from out of town have no interest in flying across the country/world to grind in some poker room that's crappier than the room they play in back home.

Flame away.

Open KK in cutoff to 15, button who hasn't played a single hand 3! to 40, I call. Flop is J 7 6 rainbow, I check call 55. Turn is a 9 bringing a flush draw, I check call 105. River offsuit ace I check fold to 250.

At least 4 pros on the game, but a fun table. Memo to grinders, be nice. Lots of 3 and 4 betting, but still a good time.
