Actually the question I have is, which poker rooms will have 2-5 games that don't usually have 2-5 games? I have heard Ballys is one of them...and I know the answer is "Check Bravo". Currently it is Aria/Venetian/Wynn/Bellagio/Caesar's. All of those are standard. Maybe when Colossus starts it will be different?

Pretty much all of them. It would be unusual to find a room during the series that isn't running 2/5. Including all the smaller rooms (e.g. Ballys/Harrahs/Excal/etc as you are referring to).

lol i ended up playing at the RIO(wsop) almost exclusively last year because it was the only place without huge waitlists. Ended up winning 20 out of 21 sessions over a 2 week period. I play low stakes but ABC was all it took to book wins.

If it is running, probably Excalibur.

I would say, any room off the beaten path. Think outside the box(strip).

pretty much any place except the Rio. Dealers were so horribad as to be unplayable.

so other non-Rio places have enough dealers on staff that they don't need to hire these terrible newly minted dealers?

I really wouldn't recommend anyone go to the wsop if they are playing 2/5 or 5/10 cash. It's just too tough to find good lineups; this is particularly true if you live in a market that spreads 2/5 or 5/10 games every day and you're comparing the Vegas games to your hometown games.

I'd also point out OP asked for softest games and people are pointing out which rooms are most comfortable/have best dealers. Play wherever you want but recognize that these types of factors are very negatively correlated with the softest games. Pros love comfortable seats, free Fiji waters, and competent dealers!

I played at Bally's this weekend, no 2/5 game, just 1/2 and I get a Royal Flush holding AKd and think great, what's the bonus for it? I found out the hard way it was a big fat $0, worthless room, floor manager asked if I played 3 hours though and he would give me a buffet ticket which everyone gets for 3 hours. Worthless Poker Room.

Rio is not too bad, just ask the dealer if they can increase the rake.

Why do you think you deserve a bonus for getting a Royal Flush?

I wouldn't expect 2/5 to run at Bally's outside of the WSOP.

Cause he sounds entitled af. Probably thinks every time he gets dealt AA or flops TPTK he deserves to win the pot. Although I have to agree with him on how much Bally's sucks.

2/5 is uncapped at Planet Hollywood. Makes for epic games during the PHamous/WSOP series.

Because most Vegas Strip Casinos offer that. Bally's does suck.

Bally's doesn't have a jackpot drop. Do any of these Vegas Strip Casinos that offer such a bonus not take a jackpot drop?

Yea I missed it, should have came last month when they still had these promotions but then I wouldn't have gotten the RF but either way, yea, lesson learned.

Is that really true? Even when Venetian started running high hand promos, I had quads a couple of times and got nothing because someone else in the room made a better hand and won instead. And some of the rooms use the jackpot drop to fund freerolls for the nitty regs.

Promotions are usually listed on Bravo so it’s a good idea to check that before you play in a room. For Bally’s Bravo says this:

Quote:
Promotions
Play 3 hours of cash games and earn a free buffet for Le Village Buffet!
You may earn two free buffets per day!

WSOP Freeroll!
-Play as little as 30 hours of cash games and earn a seat into the WSOP Freeroll!
Prizes
1st and 2nd $10K Main Event Seat or $7,500 cash option
3rd $5K Seat or $4,000 cash option
4th and 5th $1,500 Seat or $1,250 cash option
6th - 10th $1,000 Seat or $750 cash option
11th - 50th $565 Seat or $500 cash option
Qualifying period 4/1/18 - 6/1/18
Freeroll Date 6/2/18 @ 10am

See Poker Room for official rules
So that would explain why they don’t have the high hands. The money for the jackpot drop is paying for a freeroll.

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of tourists at Aria/Bellagio ask if they have bad beats, high hands, etc. and they are often stunned and annoyed when the answer is no. These people don’t always realize that there are rules for the bad beat either.

Yea exactly, lesson learned on my part, one of the reasons I go to Vegas for poker is for all the high hand bonuses a lot of casinos offer. From now on I need to pay more attention to that type of stuff before I sit down and play. Those free rolls are for locals and I’m not such. Lesson learned. I’ll stick with Aria or Planet Hollywood where they have some good promotions not based on solely amount of hours one plays.

Caesers seems pretty good, played 2/5 couple days ago and games were amazing. Also no silly promos to worry about and double the tier credits.

The general rule is rooms that have the fewest tables of a game type are the softest. However, basically everywhere on the strip that is running 2/5 during the series is going to have soft games. Table selection is key. If you go play at Aria and your 2/5 game is nitty, I guarantee you there is a good one somewhere in the room.
