Small 2-7 cash game in Vegas? Small 2-7 cash game in Vegas?

Hi

I'm coming from May 30 to June 11 this year and have ticked off a variety of tournaments that I want to play in.

First up on May 31 is the 10am $250 2-7 NL draw event at the Golden Nugget. Being from the UK, I never get to play 2-7 at home. I'd like to get some practice before the tournament, maybe spend a couple of hours in a small cash game the evening I arrive on the 30th.

Can anyone tell me whether there's anywhere that spreads 2-7NL in Vegas anymore? A tiny nitty game that can't be beat, with a few grizzled local regs who've been playing together for 20 years won't put me off, I'm just looking for somewhere I can toss off a few bucks whilst I re-familiarise myself with the basic strategies of this variant.

Anybody able to suggest where I might find a game please?

Thanks

D

That's not a regularly spread game at low stakes that I'm aware of. Best chance would be Rio pavilion room. There are occasional low stakes mixed games that run which may or may not include 2-7. The vast majority of the poker rooms are on bravo poker live app, which will show what games are being spread in real time.

During the WSOP there's maybe a player pool of 20 guys that like to play $4-8 or $6-12 Dealers Choice at Caesars, and sometimes at other places that have a table for us.

Often it's not just dealers choice for the games, but also for the limit type.

Lots of capped NL 2-7 SD (normally $1-2 blinds, $5 button ante, $100 cap), and a bunch of pot-limit stud and other draw games are the norm.

A couple years ago a bunch of WSOP dealers had a mixed like that at the Orleans.

3/6 Dealer's mix at Aria included it last time I was there. Tended to run early morning maybe after poker dealers finished shifts at 4am? That was the vibe I generally got

There is a public Facebook group for Vegas mixed games. They haven't listed any big bet mixed games that might have 2-7NL for a while (and when they did, it tended to be 1/2), but there are likely people there who would be willing to try to set something up.

You're going to have to get your lower limit practice in a mixed game. You may find some nosebleed 2-7 at Rio during that time.

There is a semi-regular 9/18 mixed game at the Wynn / Encore poker room. One of the games in the rotation is 2/7. Most of the games in the mix are lo and hi/lo split variants.

IIRC (Double board Omaha high only, badugi, O8, 2/7. pineapple, razz, razzdugi and a couple others)

If you want to get in that game, put your name on the waiting list early and wait for them to show up.

This mix includes fixed limit 2-7 triple draw, not the NL 2-7 single draw OP asked about.

We've run two mixed games at Caesars the last two weeks. It was $4/8 limit or $1/2 NL/PL with a $100 per person cap.

We played a lot of big bet games, especially NL 2-7 SD (mainly since I called it every time it was my game choice), but also some PL stud games (bad idea), some PL Omaha variants too.

We did the NL 2-7 SD with $1/2 blinds, $5 big blind ante, $5 bring-in, $100 cap per player.
