Got about 15 hours in a waiting room next to a coffee pot, might as well do this. Only a few days, solo the whole time. Wasn't the craziest trip full of stories but I had a good time with friends, learned a lot... maybe (If you learn from mistakes I should have an IQ of 190 by now) I'm mainly writing this for self-ish reflection purposes I guess
They had this B jack promo going, flight was only $150 round trip so I figure I'll straighten up, not play any pit games, stick to poker.
If I stay away from B Jack, trip shouldn't cost much. Spoiler... he didn't fix the cable
It's very dumb for me to tell this, putting my stupidity on display but entertainment is the only good thing that came out of it so screw it. (heard many times "at least you got it on video") A friend has this crazy driveway like a roller coaster. Words can't describe how fun it is to fly down it in your car. I've done it many, many times. Friends and the owner do it often after drinking a few. I was sober and really pushing it, determined to break the local speed record.
Passenger left, just had to do it solo one more time. The commentary is great. Earlier a guy said with an extreme southern twang "I don't have a good feeling about this"
Hitting that dirt was scary. Felt like slow motion and I thought I was headed to the hospital for sure. Very thankful to walk away
I do know there is a good chance this eventually saved someone's life as the owner said he'll never do it again after witnessing that
Estimates are around 6k to fix the car. Exactly how much I won last hand previous trip.
I was drinking with gambling buddies while the hurricane was going on, came up with this plan to play only one hand of B Jack for $6,002. Six yellow chips and a 2 dollar bill.
I wanted to get my friend who I don't think I have ever lost when she's around... going on years now, to cut the cards. If I win, I'm done, never playing B Jack like that again, end the streak on a good note. If I lose, the streak is over, time for me to quit this degen nonsense. Either way I'm good with the outcome. Soon as I came up with the idea, I walk into a friend's kitchen, see these shot glasses lined up, what a sign
I really don't enjoy heavy gambling anymore and the more I thought about it, the worse the anxiety got. I decided to put it off til the next trip, attempt to not play any B Jack this trip at all.
Got there late Thurs night, always great to see everyone. The love I get is overwhelming and probably undeserved. Was hanging at the bar, sticking to 1.25 hands of video poker. The alcohol hits, I was down $25 so decided to play 25 a hand like a dummy but hit this draw after I got everyone around to watch, that was fun
Drinking too much on an empty stomach seems to make me forget a lot of stuff. Don't remember what lured me in but I see this pic in my phone so the no B Jack plan obviously got "punched in the mouth" by alcohol.... what a surprise... did good though
A friend and I walked over to Bellagio in the early morning
The smell of the conservatory is always so nice. The air in there seems therapeutic, love it. Can't remember this venture as good as I'd like from being too hammered but I know I enjoyed it. Friend I was with is wise beyond her years, always love talking/learning from her (yeah, she may read this... true though) even though I think she tried to convince me Cafe Bellagio doesn't have a cucumber martini which I still haven't tried dagonit
I know I didn't need one at that point anyways, might have wound up passed out on the bridge.
Hit up the popcorn joint, man it is good. Had a very good time the first night/morning, trip starting out great.
Not a lot of pics til late Friday so no telling what happened. Had planned on eating fancy this trip, G Ramsay Steak at least once but not sure I ever woke up til that and every other fancy place was closed. I think I only ate Earl's and Eggslut the whole time, no food porn pics. Went over and worried the folks at Cosmo screwing with that Willy Wonka door again.
Stayed and played a bit, did well. Up pretty good this trip
Stayed up into the afternoon as I am nocturnal, went to pool to say hello to some employees. Wound up at B Jack of course a 6/5 sucker table but I figure I'm playing 25 tops, have some fun. Comped drinks, boobs and B Jack by the pool is like a sore pecker... tough to beat
Stevie Wonder could have seen this eventually happening, 1k at a 6/5 table... stupid. Ran good though
Went for 1k again, doubled face down. She had 20, flipped over a 10 for me, that was fun
First round of B Jack tourney was at Paris, 3:00 Saturday
Pretty fun setup, had tables of 6, top 2 after 20 hands advance. I used to play B Jack tourneys a lot on cruise ships so I thought maybe I would have a strategic edge but there was no max bet so you can pretty much throw strategy out the window. Did make it to day 2 though
Not many pics Sat night, so hard to recall what happened. I know I lost a lot at B Jack. Sunday several poker players I never recalled seeing talked to me like they knew me well and all the hell-o I raised, harassing hookers and stuff. Happens all the time and is getting to be more pathetic than funny in my advanced age..... screw it though. I do remember this one guy being azzholish to everyone. He was louder and more obnoxious than me even. He called me "Lurch" and I said oh good one, never heard that before. Then he broke off with "Gumby" and I had to give him props

Made it to round 3 of B Jack tourney, only 4 of 6 showed up so 2 of us were going to advance and win a min of 2k, max of 20k in the next round. Had a big lead on everyone after 17 hands when they did a chip count. Went small, they went all in next 2 hands and won, then I lost hand 20, bubbled the dagon thing. It was fun though.
Went big on the Falcons and they gave up a 4th qtr lead, never touched the ball in overtime. That put me in the dirt, passed out. Woke up to many texts from friends at home wanting me to place bets on the late game, parlay the Steelers and over. Never placed em and they both covered of course. Never gonna hear the end of that crap
Got out late Sun night/Mon morning, went downstairs and found a local friend was shiitfaced. Had someone help me drag him back to my room to pass out. Went back out for a while, B Jack beat me like a drum. Tired and defeated I was ready to pass out but drunken friend was rattling the windows with the snoring. I was hating life, wanted to go home bad but had pushed flight back a day cause a friend had planned to get a cabana at the pool Tuesday. At the time I was kinda considering this trip a bust, B Jack abstinence goal failed miserably, down quite a bit. Had one more day, historically the last days of these trips are great, I go all in(with money and liver/health) Did the same thing this time.
The last day I usually rest up pretty good prior, pop an addy (only time I take the stuff) and drink like an asteroid is headed this way. Always try to go out with a bang. Got out around 1am, started at it. No addy this time, was gonna be hard to drink for probly 16 hours straight, but I was determined. It was dead everywhere, poker was dark. Couple of friends got off work early and we headed to Cosmo.

One was familiar with my cult like admiration of this door, other was not. She helped me play her friend perfectly, told her it was the bathroom. The security guard just shook his head and doesn't waste his time responding to me anymore. Stuck around and drank at the fancy bar in there.
I have heard of a drink they have at Chandelier bar that is supposed to numb your mouth or something. The bartender gave us the flower bud like secret ingredient to it. Never had anything like it. Kinda like pop rocks in a slight way but better. Looking forward to next trip, eating another one. Went to Eggslut once again, never gets old. Kinda nice to enjoy the Cosmo opulence when noone is in there.
They went home after that, I went to the casino. My anxiety picks up as my wise friend is no longer around to keep me from being too stupid. Earlier I was content with how much I was down this trip, now I had the urge to get even. Put what cash I had on a single hand, its a double down of course. Went to ATM, had to call bank to get limit increased. Lady who answered the phone is someone I know, gave me my first small business loan when I was around 18. She immediately knew I was in Vegas and very drunk. I asked her to increase my daily limit close to the amount of the first loan she gave me. We used to be in an investment group together and I must have been the most frugal one in the group, often bitchin about other people's stock picks. Now here I am doing this stupid crap.
Proceeded to lose about 7 hands in a row, yelled uncle. Didn't see my luck inducing friend Shawna much when I was gambling this time. Out of the last 6 visits now, I have won the last hand 4 out of 6 times when she was involved. The 2 I lost, she was nowhere around. In all I think I lost about 6k this time. Wish I had just gone with the original plan to put 6,002 on a hand now but oh well. One thing I have gotten good at (I think) is shaking that crap off, not let it ruin the moment.
Went to room, took vitamins including B12, magnesium, lots of milk thistle and others. Pounded water with electrolytes. (no hangover that day or the next, not the slightest) Got a quick nap, then geared up for the pool.
Successfully sneaking vodka into that pool is such a pleasure to me it's beyond pathetic. Ran out last couple of times so packed a fifth and 2 airplane bottles. With no addy, I went with caffeine. A friend came to pick me up, I must have been already hammered cause I took this pic not noticing her in front of me.
She doesn't drink much more than a glass of wine or something, I'm usually sober when we hang out, not today. She's very pretty and a sweetheart, I figure the security guards won't hassle me as much if she's there. She went first and they looked through every inch of her bag. I figured I'm screwed but I think they were trying to flirt with her or something, didn't pay me any mind and I walked on, never searched my bag. That pool is great, my favorite one. During the week it's not that crowded, just the right amount of people.
There were only 3 of us, and I was the only one drinking vodka
Determined not to let my efforts go to waste I I think I drank almost all of the vodka by the end and was blitzed. Had a ball, hated to leave
Must have been around 6pm. She took me to the airport. I had taken a ton of pics as usual ( a bunch of her) and as I'm writing this I see a video I don't remember. I had the camera on her while she was driving, messing with her. She snatched my phone, put it on me and I must say while I always film others, I didn't like it being on me. I looked and acted like a waste of space. She messed with me saying I drink too much, take too many pictures. I went into perv defense mode but she called me out and said you take so many cause you get too drunk, can't remember haha. She mentioned a run in I had with security at the pool I have no recollection of. Usually on the last days I take addy and can stay coherent while pounding alcohol. Not this time, I was sloppy drunk and it was ridiculous. Watching that video makes me wanna quit the heavy drinking, especially around someone that doesn't drink, pretty disrespectful. I don't know why she didn't put me out on the side of the road the way I was acting. I asked her to stop somewhere to eat, she said you can eat at airport. Next thing you know she surprises me, pulls up to my favorite sushi place, Sakana. I was more ecstatic to be there than Harold and Kumar were at White Castle
I'm not even a big sushi person but that place is great, dear lord it was good. Every time I go there I get back problems, as soon as I leave I want to go back
Made it to the airport and she gave me a box of cigars she brought from Cuba. Someone else had given me some marijuana brownies after she saw what a hard time I had trying to smoke weed. I think carrying either of them on the plane is illegal but they were gifts.... gotta do it

I kept drinking at the airport, mixing in the milk thistle thank goodness. Flight was only about 3.5 hours back home and I know I was still drunk when I got to baggage claim. A K-9 officer and a dog came and stood right by me while I was waiting for my bag. I started talking my azz off and probably got on his nerves so bad he left. I doubt I could have gotten in too much trouble but I had taken enough chances this trip. I love dogs but was glad to see that one leave.
In a way this TR didn't end til today. While I was writing this I had a nice run of luck. I haven't gambled online in several months now, no desire to, but they sent a nice bonus so I got reeled in. I was playing modest online B Jack, won a few hundred and was about to stop. In similar fashion to a previous historic online B Jack run, got a text from the lucky one Shawna. I kinda smiled and rolled my eyes at myself, "it's a sign" haha, started back playing. Went big right then, went on a run
Forrest Gump- "I figured since I had gotten this far, might as well keep on going" Maybe its a reach to include this in "The Streak" but I wouldn't have been put on that path if not for the text, been a crazy run
Disclaimer: people love to share the wins but rarely share the losses. I have had some nice runs but overall I am way down....maybe not after this run
but I haven't cashed it out yet either..... I do not recommend !!
