How much is a truck stop shower?

Probably saved myself $1,500 in hotel costs . I grinded poker . Had good food. Watched sports . Not a single person bothered me . Was safe and secure .
3 weeks? $1500 is probably low.

I've stayed at the super 8 near downtown. It wasn't quiet but it was clean and cheap

Afaik, there is no truck stop at The South Point. I could be wrong, but I have been there many times and have even stayed there. Do not recall any truck stop there.

Where is it ?

Plus being at South point you are in a decent neighborhood.
Why did you have to move the truck every couple days?

He probably means the one next to the Silverton.

There is a TA truck stop 3.1 miles from the South Point. Now for the real hard question. How do you think he got there?

Truck stop shower will be between $12-15.00 depending on which truck stop. You get an hour it what essentially would be a hotel bathroom.

Yes the TA by the Silverton . Moving my car every few days is for the purpose of keeping roving security from asking why the car was parked in the same spot for 3 weeks. They never said a word to me . South point has a truck that rides around the parking areas 24/7 . Maybe they knew and didn't care .

I tried Boulder station. Parking lot but the bicycle security there sort of caught on to me . Not a good area anyways. .

That sounds pretty steep compared to $10/month for a Planet Fitness membership..

Agreed but I was only there for three weeks . Planet fitness would be a good alternative . The showers at the truck stop give you an hour and obviously you can shave and take your time as opposed to I've never seen someone shaving at planet fitness? Either way I was on a mission and saves myself a bunch of money . Some people seem to find it odd that a person would chose to sleep in a car but saving the money was satisfying.

No idea about Planet Fitness, but the gym I go to has plenty people shaving there. Might have to do with the fact that I often go between 6-8AM because the lap pool closes after that until lunch time. So I see people in the locker room before they head to work. There’s a good chance it’s different during the day.

EDIT: Forget it. Free trials only available to Nevada residents.

24 Hour Fitness usually has 7 days free unlimited trial.

Las Vegas Athletic Club may do too.

Between these two you've got 2 free weeks.

Cambridge Community Center has $4 per day usage of their fitness center. They have showers their too but I don't trust the people that go there.

For me personally the truck stop showers are the way to go. Always super clean and it's just a personal preference if I have the choice. Obviously the gym is the cheaper option. Meh! Is what it is. I was very comfortable in my car .

If I were sleeping in my truck, shaving would be my lowest priority.

The OP is choosing to sleep in his truck. As I chose to sleep in my car. Shaving was not a priority but also at the TA truck stop in Vegas I did laundry . Everybody is assuming that I or OP is some sort of broke . That's not the case . For me the trip was all about poker and keeping expenses down. I was single at the time and paying $80.00 per night for a cheap room where I would possibly have to listen to tweakers or prostitutes is a waste of money. The parking lot at the South Point was super quiet and I slept 6-8 hours like a rock.

Regardless, I still wouldn't shave.

Agree. Truck Stops are the way to go. Showers, Laundry, wifi, food. They cater to truckers living on the road so if you are sleeping in your car you fit right in. If you can find a quiet corner in a truck stop parking lot, taking a snooze isn't going to raise anyone's eyebrows.

This is very true. The only problem is what you said . Finding a quiet spot is tough at the truck stops and for me personally the constant odor of diesel fuel is annoying.

This is pretty good advice. I think sleeping in your truck can work but you need to be smart about it. There are some sketchy people trolling about. I wouldn't sleep in that area around Bally's.

Gym membership for showers is a great courtesy to your fellow players.

Sounds like a YouTube sensation. If you made a YouTube channel covering your experiences I would for sure watch it. Sounds cool.
