Trying to keep out “certain people?” Hmm.
Riffs and raffs ldo.

Personally I don't mind flashing an ID, but if they want to scan it etc, I'm taking my talents to South Beach.

Degens gonna let 'em take dick pics if they want one. At some point one would think that degens would wonder why they are welcoming them inside but keeping "undesirables" out. Casino corps are scum.

this isn't that hard people, foatie's got the correct answer.

the area around the old hard rock used to be nice but has become overrun with homeless and crackheads. even now with the virgin hotel it is still pretty bad around there. I've been to silver sevens a couple of times during daytime hours since they re-opened and was not ID'd. but at night I would not be surprised that they would do this to everyone entering as standard policy.

One casino doing this is no big deal. If the practice were to spread and become the industry standard, then ...

It's standard in the United Kingdom. Every entrance to a casino has a reception desk and you either have to produce membership card or register with ID (DL/Passport). Honestly wouldnt surprise me if smaller casinos that can control the number of entrances start doing it post-COVID.

!00%.

I've been to Continental/Terribles/SilverSevens over the years. If you have any familiarity with the location, you would know this is 100% accurate as a guess.

For nostalgia buffs this place used to be named Hotel Continental, then became Terribles probably around 20 years ago.

When it was Hotel Continental they had the best Prime Rib deal in town, $5 with all the sides. And it was actually pretty good.

In addition to asking me when I entered, I saw them asking a couple ladies who were clearly over 60 years old.

I asked a security manager/supervisor why this was being done. He told me it was a COVID related policy. The casino was trying to keep out certain people who wouldn't be able to produce and ID. He was surprisingly blunt about that.
My initial gut instinct was. this is an age-related thing, to (potentially) (re)-establish the practice of checking IDÂ’s. If you check the IDÂ’s of everyone, then maybe the security guard feels more comfortable checking the ID of someone who looks underage. Same principle with drinking? I could be wrong, I have no idea
