Follow me as I take my entire net worth of $1500 to Las Vegas to take a shot at becoming a professional poker player. I will be heading out from Southern California on a bus with nothing but what I can fit in my bag. If I go broke I will head back with my tail between my legs. However, if I make it you will be able to join me as I experience the exciting life Las Vegas has to offer.
I guess I've read too many of these because I actually like that the OP says I'm doing this or that and that's it. Much better than all these pussies asking questions if a 2k roll is enough to make it big
I guess you can take a shot (a very long on at that) if you can go back to your parents if this doesn't work (probably over 99% of the time). Having said that, I'm a fan of people that go after their dreams because, after all, if it weren't for dreamers, humanity wouldn't be where it is today.
I'm not sure what a weekly room goes for, but I'm guessing that 500 bucks is gonna be for living expenses for the first couple of weeks, which leaves you with a grand or so. 1/3 with a 300 buy-in is guaranteed ruin. Might as well go to the baccarat table and put it on Banker.
Try Bill's gambling hall. They run a .5/1 game which I'm assuming is the equivalent of playing poker against infants. Buy- in for 75-100 and play snug. I'm sure you'll have no problem getting paid off. Be ready to grind ur ass off...
Op, how old are u? R u quitting a job or college or wasting some other opportunity to do this?
Short Bio: I'm 27. I've made 6 figures before(in business) and blown it. Had success in many different industries as a top salesperson. If you guys think poker is a grind try asking 500 people the same opening question per day endlessly.
I understand my risk of ruin could be estimated as very high but that's going to be part of the adventure. If I need to run a prop bet hustle here and there or drum up funds some other way I will. Stay Tuned.
