-Ivan, I'm 29 yrs old

I just moved to Las Vegas in December w/ my Gf, came out here to play poker and plan on doing this full time.

I know a couple of guys out here that play professionally that I met from a mutual friend recently, however, they are a bit older and are settled in, makes it a bit harder to hangout.

I know this sounds cheesy lol...but I'm hoping to meet a circle of poker players, where we can discuss poker and help each other out over some coffee or beers.

I play on WSOP as I prefer online a bit more than live due to BR, however I don't mind playing live to get out of the house occasionally.


Anyways any feedback is much appreciated

Seems like if you play live more, you'll run into regs that you can eventually connect with. Maybe get a temporary job to build up the bankroll for live play.

If your BR is too low to even play 1/2nl properly live then what are you playing on WSOP full time that you can make enough to pay the bills with?

1. You have a gf, which puts you potentially into a different social or activity circle than poker. If you want to "get out of the house occasionally", do something with her perhaps ?

2. Why did you move to Las Vegas if you aren't rolled/ready to play live ?

3. Do you have a job aside from your poker playing ? Get a job dealing if you want to meet poker folks.

4. You are not ready to play poker full-time, either BR-wise or experience-wise.

Thanks for the feedback...Yea for now I have enough saved to get by for the next couple of months, however, I will probably get a part time job to just make a little extra.

For an online player you must not know how the internet works. You are supposed to get defensive, claim to be an absolute soul crusher, and predict you will spin it up and be playing 10/20 in a month.

But, whatever, try humility if you want...

I'll be out there in 3 weeks. Plan is to play a bunch of 1/2 and possibly grind hours for some freerolls. I'll talk poker over coffee or beer if you haven't got your crew built by then. I'd be curious to hear how it's been going for you.
