Yeah it's obviously a terrible game in terms of EV, but it's a lot of fun.

Guy next to us had $100 on each bonus and $500 on his ante and hit a 6 card flush with a 4 card straight flush. $16k. Sick.

It's like a combo of 3 card poker and Pai Gow. You're dealt 7 cards and if 6 or more of those are suited that's where the big money comes in on the bonuses. You can bet on a flush which only pays if you have 4 or more suited cards and also a straight flush bonus which only pays on 3 or more cards. 100:1 on a 6 card and 300:1 on a 7 card on the flush bonus which is where you actually make your money in this game.

Was at Harrahs New Orleans with my boss where he hit a 6 card straight flush on high card flush. He was betting one spot that paid out 1000-1 and another spot that paid out 100-1 and had $5 on each iirc. I know he got paid out $5500.

He could have had $10 on each and they paid out 500/50-1 now that I think about it.

Had money on Rigondeaux by decision and am not happy about that fight at all. What was the reaction in the arena to the result? Did people realize the punch was way late? (FWIW, the guy now has fought a grand total of 3 rounds since that horrible Francisco fight in 2015)

At least I didn't have money on Kovalev again. After he got robbed last time, I got way too upset over relatively little money.

Yeah, whole thing felt like WWE.

Rigondeaux hitting late, referee looking the other way then going to review the video but not listening to audio. Ward hitting a big right hand, then hitting low 3-4 times, Kovalev trying to sell he's hurt because of the low blows and not the hand to the head and the referee stopping the fight out of nowhere. The only thing missing was Mayweather coming to the ring to knock out award with a chair.

My cynical brain was telling me that if it went the distance it'd be a Kovalev victory for the simple fact that there'd be a lot of money to be made in a third fight as a tie breaker (thus the Kovalev wager).

The stoppage was so sudden we were all just sitting there with mouths agape. Totally agree Kovalev was trying to sell it...never thought for a second it was going to be stopped though.
