Pretty sick hit by K on WoF. Celebrated this myself with some solitary romantic dinner before rendezvousing at the V:

Now, $80 1,5k GTD at PH together with the aforementioned as we speak. In-tourney entertainment:

Re: Scandis in Vegas - TR 4/18-4/27

We get it in KK vs AA against Mike Tyson at PH tourney. Basically the only guy that opens 98% of pots to 10x.

At VP in search for kickers. Iíll take it tho!

(Don't worry, no offense taken, even if there was i'm Canadian so I'd pobably end up apologizing myself.)

Last tourney I played in was at the V. 6th hand I ran my A-high flush into a straight flush. Rebuy, didn't last until the break, turned nut straight vs rivered bigger straight. Live poker is rigged obv.

Keep the reports coming guys.

I donít think that S. meant anything bad with this. He was referring to the hundreds of people in mobility scooters or whatever you call it who are either lazy or fat or a combination of both. Here is a great example, these guys were driving up and down the strip with, smoking weed and with pitchers in front.

Re: Scandis in Vegas - TR 4/18-4/27

Daily update: bit sad as I can feel the trip coming to an end. 3 full days left, one of them will be without gambling altogether.

Family is coming into town from San Diego today and we are going for a Red Rock Canyon tour tomorrow- really looking forward to that one.

Today will be the usual. Slept really bad for no apparent reason, will grab some coffe and head down to the V to find a game until the $150 KO starts at 12:00. Then we will see how it goes, 0 plans for the rest of the day.

At an incredibly nitty $1/$2 game at the Flamingo. Average age at the table is 85, one guy might be dead. Saw someone shove $90 preflop UTG+1 with no action behind and showing AKss and announcing he never wins with that goddamn hand!

Up about $3.50, Venetian KO in 1,5 hours.

Amazing table until a hyper aggro hoodie kid arrived. 1 hour session just ended, cashed out $585 after being on a good side of a cooler + an old guy shoving 44 into my AA.

Re: Scandis in Vegas - TR 4/18-4/27

Agree with what K wrote above; can feel the trip coming towards the end now. But at the same time I feel that I (we?) have packed a lot into it so far, and there are still 3 full days left. At least in my case, as I just woke up.

Time for a summary of yesterday. After starting the day with a relaxing massage down at the Harrahs Spa, as well as some quick pool-time, I realized I wanted to play a tournament. Decided to go and late reg the $140 daily at Wynn/Encore, mostly because I hadn't played there before. With 10k chips and 30 min levels, there were decent room for play.

The walk to the room was obviously (as this is Vegas) a bit longer than I had anticipated. On my way there I did however give a lot of coins to two homeless people for some karma points + planned how I would use my winnings from the tournament:

I sat down at the 75-150 level, and basically did my standard nitty tournament play; folding unplayable hands while watching others play every hand and hit miracle flops. Still managed to go into first break with 10775 chips, after winning one or two small pots.

After the break the blinds were 200-400-50, and we could observe that the tournament had 45 entrants and would pay 5 players. And it didn't take long for me to get into a spot that would decide the tournament. I pick up AKo and raise it up to 1000 from EP1. An overweight, middle-aged American who had no fold-button called, and the SB (semi-competent younger guy) shipped it for 9k. I obviously reship and get a flip against TT. Unfortunately a T hits the flop, making the river K very inconsequential.

Down to 4 bb I push it all-in the next hand from UTG with A8dd. Older semi-active lady to my left calls, the station calls, and another short stack jams for 3000. They both call, and we see 9-8-2 with two spades. The older lady jams, and gets fold from the station, and we are up against J8ss (great call pre), and KQo for the other short stack. We dodge everything and quadruple up.

Not much happened after that though, trickled down to push-stack and with the blinds about to rise to 300-600 I eventually shipped 4500 in with K7dd from CO. The calling-station in the BB obviously was going nowhere with 98ss, and he hit two pair on the flop, ensuring that we are OUT of the tournament.

Oh well, not much to do with that. Instead I went over to Fashion Show Mall on the other side of the street, and spent some time shopping clothes at Macy's. Had vague memories from my last trip of that being a good store, and it didn't disappoint. Incredible selection, huge a*s store, and fairly decent prices. Overall a very good experience.

Went back to the hotel after that for a bit, before heading out into the night to find more cash games. As always I went for casinos where I had never played before, so first it was a quick walk over to the Mirage. Played there for 2 hours, without basically getting any interesting hand to report about. Was a bit down after KK getting an A high flop, back to even after flopping a set of deuces, a bit down again, then up to a +$45 USD profit after semi-bluffing the flop against an older semi-active player, who actually laid down TP like I hoped he would.

From Mirage I headed over to Ballys, another room I had never played in before. Sat down in a game and immediately could tell this was a fairly good one. Especially to my left I had 3 older gentlemen who did not like to fold. I couldn't make many hands against them however, and just hovered around my starting stack of $300 for a while.

Then I eventually picked up KK and raised it up to $11 over one limp, only to see the older Asian to my immediate left 3-bet to $35. I was a bit confused as his mantra was mostly raising pre and/or never folding to a raise, but this was the first 3-bet I had seen. I elected to only call the raise however, as he was active enough (and I was raising a fair bit pre) and I wanted to keep weaker hands in. J-4-5 is the flop and I check-call $30. Turn is a 2 and he once again bets $30.

Here is where I make the huge blunder of moving all-in ($190 total). I should just call down, but my moving in I can realistically only get value from Jx and QQ. I think I chose the worst option possible of the 3 here, and that annoys me since it goes back to what I wrote a few days ago - it's important to play the big pots that come up well. He snap-calls so fast that "I already know before the cards are turned over", and he shows Aces before I have the time to show anything. They hold up, and I just muck and reload for another $300.

Just a few hands later I pick up TT, and make it $12 over to limpers. We go 4-ways to the flop, which comes fairly safe with 9-8-2. I bet $22, fold fold, before the first limper jams for around $100. He has been at the table for a while and I am very sure he is the type of player who would go crazy with 9x, 77/66, A8 or similar here. I immediately call, and get a super safe runout (4-2). I table my hand like it's the nuts, and it was until the river. He shows A2 off-suit

Oh well, not much I can do with that. I take it as a champ, don't look frustrated, don't say a word, just calmly goes on playing. And I did manage to win a little bit back later, when the game unfortunately had died down and the action players left. I had AA on a J-J-7-3-9 board with 3 diamonds, and called down a younger guys river bet and was good. A bit dicey for sure, but he had shown some weird hands + was slightly drunk, and I had underrepped my hand a bit. And he did end up only having 87o here.

Still had to leave the game -$325 USD (stayed until almost 1am), feeling a bit dejected. Despite some run-bad etc. I still feel there are way too many pots I misplay, perhaps by being to passive sometimes. Just small pots here and there where I end up being a bit too cautious, and then suddenly hands like the KK one where I make a fatal blunder that costs too much.

Oh well, new opportunities today. Haven't decided at all what to play, but will have a look at it now.

Results-tracker:

Cash:

Hours played: 24 h
Amount won: +$770 USD
Hourly rate: $32.1 USD

Tournaments:

Amount won: -$300 (3 played)

And to end on a positive note, here is a nice looking waterfront by the Wynn:

Busted tourney as usual, this time QQ vs AA on low flop. Gave back some of my profit at 1/2 and then joined the local bank, aka free bet blackjack. Picked up a 3x split/double, in for $150 and out for:

Pretty Ok for 10 minutes

Not yet and I doubt we will have time for it this trip. We are going downtown tonight to look around and to play at Golden Nugget, then Red Rock tomorrow. Next time maybe

On a completely unrelated note: family just messaged me. They were supposed to leave San Diego 7 in the morning. They are currently at a place called Salton Sea in the middle of the desert. They have been driving for 4 hours - towards Las Vegas - New Mexico, and are now 6 hours drive from Las Vegas - Nevada. Canít make this **** up Pro tip: double-check your GPS, always.

Food update. GR's fish & chips:

Not too shabby but not extraordinary either. In comparison, the Ramsay slicers & burgers posted above are way better.

Nice. I was there a couple of hours ago. I got the shrimp and chips with Aoili? sauce and I thought it was really good.

I think itís a solid value per dollar per strip prices/food.

I had the hog burger yesterday at PH and it was very good as well but a bit pricier.

Yeah if going there again I'll defo try out the shrimp combo instead (The sriracha aioli and tartar sauce were pretty neat indeed).

Re: Scandis in Vegas - TR 4/18-4/27

While K and S have been exploring alternative locations, I have just focused on poker. Started the day with joining K to Venetian, and while he regged the tourney I got a seat in a $1-$2 game.

Really only one hand of note there, as the game was (as expected) very tight. I raise JJ to $7 from UTG, get two callers, and then BB 3-bets it to $35. He is an older Asian gentlemen that has been a little bit active, but not too crazy. As I'm not really looking to get JJ in here, I just call in position. The other two players fold.

He dark-checks the flop, which comes K-J-5 with two diamonds. Although I'm a bit confused by his check, I still want to start building a pot and get some value, so I bet $46. He instantly check-raises all-in, and I obviously call. We are good against AKo, and suddenly have a stack:

(The $5 chips were not stacked correctly here, it's a bit less than it looks)

Stayed for several orbits more, but no big hands or any interesting spots came up. So just cashed out after 1 hour and 45 minutes, up +$187 USD for the session.

Grabbed some McDonalds between Casino Royale and Harrahs, before heading over to this exotic location:

Ok, The Flamingo itself is not very exotic, but these birds surely are Anyway, I had a good experience playing here earlier in the trip, and K also had a winning session this morning. With that in mind, I wanted to give it another go. Immediately got seated into a game, and soon found myself in a spot.

There is a raise to $7 from early position, and I call in CO with 76ss. Two other players also call, and we see the flop Js-9s-3s. An above average flop, and the pre-flop raiser bets out $10. I make it $35 to go, as I obviously don't want a fourth spade to come off, but think I can get a lot of value from his strong hands here. He 4-bets it to $115, pretty much committing himself. I still think a shove is the correct play though, given I think he can do the same with all sets, and all overpairs containing a spade. Heck, I even think he might do it with a bare AA, at least based on what the player looked like (if that makes sense).

So I stick it in there, and he pretty much snap-calls, but mumbles something indicating he is not happy about the situation. I hope that means overpair with spade, but instead he rolls over KQss, and I can just quickly slide my hand into the dealers muck as I'm drawing dead on turn (and almost dead on flop too tbh).

Bit frustrating, but don't think there is any chance of getting away from that one. At least that early in the session without any reads on this particular player.

Game was super nitty, so I stole a few pots here and there, and grinded back some of the lost funds, but didn't stay too long. When you make it $9 with KK over two limps for example, and both of them folds, then you know it's likely not a game worth sticking around it. Cashed out for $333, which is minus -$167 USD (was in for five).

Just been chilling at the hotel a bit now, but I'm gonna get ready now for some more poker. Will update tomorrow with results etc.
