Nice. Assuming you booked your room directly with Harrah's, when you check out you can use any remaining Reward Credits toward paying for your room.

Quick boring update with some poker stuff from me.

Bellagio: +$62 (cash)
Planet Hollywood: -$80 (tourney)
Harrahs: +$35 (cash)
Venetian: +$165 (cash)

After starting the day early at Bellagio, I went to Planet Hollywood to take a shot in their $80 tournament at 10pm. I hoped there would be some overlay, however there were already 30 entrants when I busted, and plenty of time left of late registration.

So yeah, I busted early from that one. Didn't get much going in the early states, and found myself with 7600 or so at 200-400 level. I get 3 limps to me for 400, and look down at 77. With 19 bb and 2k in the middle I just ship it all-in to hopefully increase stack by 25%. Big Blind does however wake up with AK and we do not win the flip.

After that just did some quick shopping at Miracle Mile, before heading back to the hotel to relax a bit and hit the gym. Then went with the other guys to Mandalay Bay for the Shark Reef (as already stated). Although I enjoy being surrounded by fish, I have to echo the sentiment that it was nothing more than ok.

Went back to Harrah's again, and pretty quickly found myself in a $1-$2 game here. Was bit up and down, but managed to cash out for $35 after a little under 2 hours. Could have stayed longer for sure, but game was fairly tight and not too exciting.

I made one decent river bluff by turning 55 into a bluff on a 4-flush board. Opponent clearly didn't like the river card and bet weak, so I took the opportunity to raise him. Also won a flip with 77 against unknown hand from a shortstack that just wanted to gamble (he had previously pushed and shown T3o after everyone folded.

Then went over to Venetian, and got a seat in a $1-$2 game there. Was up a bit in the beginning, then down after JJ < QQ versus a short stack.

Managed to turn it around however, after first raising 89ss UTG and turning a straight. Unfortunately my clueless opponent folded the river.

Then it was a raise to $11 from a very tight middle aged player from EP1. Two women, who both had joined the table the hand before, both called out of $100 stack, and another more competent women called on the button. I also call from the BB with 77.

The flop comes.. rather favorable, I would say. 5-7-4 rainbow. It checks to the woman on the button, who moves all-in for $62. I call the bet, and one of the new women at the table also calls $62 (with around $25 behind).

Turn is another 7, which is an interesting card for the high hand promotion they have at Venetian. I put her in, and she actually manages to fold (!). I was on the right side of a cooler against 55, and also take the lead in the high hand promotion for $400 for those 30 minutes.

The problem is that the hand completed just after another period had started, so I had to wait 29 minutes to see if the hand would hold up. And unfortunately, with around 10 minutes left another player in the building made quad Queens. I must admit it was a little bit disappointing to not get my hands on any promo-money, but regardless I managed to cash out with a win at least.

Tomorrow the plan is to grind hard, on what is likely a very good day for poker (Saturday). I have been a bit unhappy with my volume so far, hours wise, so we need to kick that up. I might just play cash all day tomorrow, as my motivation for that is much bigger than tournaments at the moment.

(sorry for lack of pictures, will come stronger back tomorrow)

Results-tracker:

Cash

Hours played: 8:00h
Amount won: +$265 USD
Hourly rate: $33.1 USD

Tournaments

Amount won: -$80 USD

I know it’s not too related, but back in the days when I looked into trips to Vegas I remember always checking schedules for Avicii. I am not a huge fan of clubbing etc, but love his music and what he does. Such sad news reading about his death. Last night most Las Vegas properties all played this song on repeat. RIP to a fellow Swede

On a little bit more uplifting news, currently sitting at the V. Could not sleep so early cash game it is, and then tourney at noon.

Few pics from last night:

30%. They said that Sweden was tax exempt but the problem is that they don’t have a tax agent at Harrahs to fill the form. So had to deal with the 30% tax unfortunately.

It's correct that residents of Sweden are exempt, but with you not living there it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

You are probably right but the manager thought otherwise. He said that at any similar property except Harrahs they would have an agent to fill out paperwork and it would be tax exempt. I tried to take it down to 10% since Malta has a tax treaty with the US and the tax is 10% but he returned a while later showing that the only acceptable documentation for Malta is a drivers license and I only have a residency card.

So yeah nothing I can do. On another note, currently playing the Venetian $340 $25k GTD, Gavin Smith at the next table.

Sitting at 1/2 game bit tilted. Busted the $340 tourney in a pretty brutal fashion. On the button with QdJd, UTG makes it 500 at 75/150 and there are 2 callers + me + the blinds. Flop comes QcJs3d. All check and I make it 2300 which only UTG calls. Turn is pretty decent 4d putting the backdoor flush drawn out there. UTG checks, I make it 5500, he c/r 12k and we stick it in. He tanks and ends up calling with JJ and we whiff the river. Not too sure if it could have been played any other way.

Not sure how the rest of the day will go, we will see. Currently grinding the high hand promo at the V.

I woke up at 7:30 today, feeling a little under the weather. Not a fun feeling when you are in Vegas and have decided to put grind-mode on. However, after recommendation from K and J, I went to a barbershop at Venetian ('The Art of Shaving') to get some hair etc. removed (not that I have much on my head anymore!).

The process itself took around 50 minutes, and was just overall very relaxing. I am also really happy with the result, so even though it was expensive AF ($160 USD) it was well worth it. I have also taken some cold medicine + just came from a very refreshing trip to the Harrah's pool, and feel much better now.

Before the barbershop at Venetian opened, I went over there for some early morning cashgames. Only played for 1 hour and 15 minutes, but there were a lot of interesting hands. I'll run trough some of them.

After folding for 7-8 hands I pick up AA from EP1 and raise to $7. I get three callers, and we see the flop Ks-Js-5c. BB leads out for $25, and I think I made a big mistake here by just flatting. He only has 90 behind, and given there are a number of draws or 1-pair hands he can have here (KQ, KT, QJ, plus flushdraw combos, perhaps with one pair as well), I think this is a stack type I should just raise and get it in against. I also don't have the Ace of spades, thus meaning he could also be on a simple nut flush draw.

Instead I just call, and a tight older guy behind me calls as well. Turn is a Q, and BB now pushes all in for $92. With a guy behind me and a board that is looking a bit bleak I eventually make a tight fold. I think it's a bit too likely that he could have improved to two pair. The third player also folds.

A bit later I get AQo and make it $20 to go from early position after a button-straddle and a limp in front of me. I get 2 callers, and we go the nice looking flop of Q-7-2 with two diamonds. I bet $32 and get a call from a very serious looking Asian woman, buried in her hoodie and sunglasses. Turn is a complete blank (5s), and I checked to her. Something about the way she was playing made me believe she would take a stab if I did so. She does, and bets $63. I call, and we see a Ts on the river. No flush possible, and even though QT got there I am more than happy to call down here. I check to her, but she checks quickly back. Maybe I could have gone for a small bet on the river to target some medium Qs or pocket pairs, as my line probably looks semi-strong to her and she might be afraid to bet a lot of things on the river. Our hand was obviously good.

The very next hand I am in the BB and get QQ after someone has raised to $8 from middle position and gotten two callers. I make it $28 to go, and they all call. We see the flop 4-ways and it comes fairly safe 8-2-8. SB checks, and I bet $50. I don't think my bet needs to be much bigger here, although there are a heart draw out there. Obviously we want lesser pair to stay in, but not make it too cheap for someone to draw to a flush. Anyway, they all folded.

At this point I had a nice looking stack:

It did however go a bit downhill after that. First I picked up AKo and raised to $8 over a limper. I get 3 callers, and we see the flop Ks-Ts-8h. Again I get lead into, this time the BB bets $14. I call, and the rest of the players fold. Turn is a 3d, and he once again bets $14. While the flop perhaps once again should be a raise, I now realize that I should raise this turn-card as his betting seems kinda weak, and I want to charge flushdraws and get value from worse one-pair hands. I make it $45, and he calls. River is a 4s, and he leads for $40 this time. It stinks like a flush, but I don't think I can fold for that prize. I call, and he has Q8ss for pair and flushdraw on flop that got there on the river.

Win some of it back the next hand when I raise KQo over a limp, flop top pair, turn trips, and river a full house. I get some value from opponent on flop and turn, but he folds river.

Towards the end I also lost two more small pots, one where I had KT on T-5-2-5-7. I had bet the flop, check-called the turn, but folded river. The guy who bet the turn was a very tight older gentleman, and after the hand he told me he had A5.

I also raised 99 to $6 pre in one of my last hands, and got 3 callers as always. Flop comes 7-6-7 and I bet $14. I get one caller, and turn is a T. I check, and my opponent bets $19. I call with second pair and gutshot, and river is an Ah. My opponent clearly grimaces of that card (and it didn't look like a fake tell), but he still bets $45. It was all a bit confusing with the tell etc. but in the end I chose to believe him on a likely 7 and let it go. Could certainly have tried to raise the river, but might be too risky in case I interpreted him wrong.

In the end I left up $70 USD, which was fine enough for such a short session. Will update the stats-thing later tonight.

Now it's 3pm, and I'm gonna head out and grind cash games until I get tired. This is likely the best day for poker during our stay, so I have to take advantage of that as much as I can. Not 100% sure where I will play yet, thinking of giving Ceasar's a go, but will check Bravo and decide.

Random Bellagio Conservatory picture for feelgood-effect:

Until later

/O

I am not an expert but I would think you could file appropriate forms with doc to get a refund from IRS whether it’s all 30% for Sweden residency or the 30-10=20% for Malta.

Cashed out at the V for exactly $300, for a total profit of $0. The promotion is ruining everything, a hand usually looks like this: 5 limpers, I make it like 18-20 from the button and everyone is offended and angry and folds.

Either way, S. joined and we decided to blow off some steam at this crazy and probably horrible game called free play blackjack. It’s absurdly bad, but got lucky on a $25 side bet with a split/split/double. In for $170 and out for:

Went over to Mirage to check out the dolphins and the zoo thingy. A bit of a disappointment again, and pretty sad to see animals in such circumstances. At least the dolphins looked fairly happy.

Our bags just arrived from London which means we don’t have to spend millions on clothes every single day. About to head out to not-so-secret-pizza again and probably just degen somewhere. Btw, it’s absurdly hot outside!

Back at Harrahs defeated and frustrated. Top was $720 I think, then lost Ts7s on TdAs3s in a pretty brutal fashion. He leads the flop which I raise and he shoves for a little bit more. I call and we see a T turn and 9 river. I show my trips and he is looking at the board, then at me, then at his cards and repeat at least 6 times for what seems like a minute. He finally shows pocket aces and that cost me about $250.

Two hands later call a small raise with QdJd in the cutoff, flop is Q88 with 4 players. Original raiser jams for $110 everyone folds and I call. Blank turn and river J, he shows T9 for a gutshot that made it. WP GG, chug the greyhound I ordered and snap cash out $275.

Aria $240 on schedule tomorrow morning.

Thanks! Assume you are referring to me. I can certainly see your argument, as it puts me in a bit more multi-way situations post-flop. At the same time I do think that people call less if the raise is $15 pre or similar, and since I mostly have decent hands when I raise I want people to call me with weaker hands.

That being said, I am not good enough at adjusting my sizing, such as realize when I am at a table that will call the $15 raises with anything as well. And if that is the case, then obviously I leave money on the table with my small sizing.

On another note, I've been grinding the cash games all evening, at Ceasars, Excalibur and Flamingo. Way too tired (and a bit sick) now however to give all the details.

I will come back with a TLDR-post as soon as I wake up, including text and pictures
