Hello everyone! Time has come to leave our sunny island in the south of Europe and head to Vegas.

We will be leaving super early the 18th and after a quick stop at London Heathrow we have an 11,5 hour flight to San Francisco and then connection to Vegas - if all goes well If no delays and if we reach all our connections then we will be landing around 6pm Vegas time.

We have booked 9 nights at Harrah´s, the new recently upgraded tower. It was the most convenient option of them all. Bring on the $20 trick!

The crew consists of the 3 of us, me and J from Sweden and O from sunny Norway. Both of them are semi-regs on 2+2 and will hopefully update regularly. We will do everything in our power to not blasted the TR, although it is our first time to Vegas for two of us.

Expect tons of tourneys, cash games, random pit games and lots and lots of food! Oh and obviously pictures, as soon as we figure out how to upload anything. My family will also join for a few days, they are doing a roadtrip sort of thing so will be a bunch of sightseeing, Grand Canyon, and touristy stuff.

BR:

I will have approximately $2000 for tourneys, $1000 for cash games (I REALLY suck at cash games, but hey it is Vegas!) and $1000 for food/gambling/tourist stuff. The rest of the guys will probably update their plan and budget.

Not really planning anything major, gonna do one night of Kabuto and one night at Carnevino - rest will be as we go.

Will update in the coming days regarding poker plans, etc. I am sure I forgot a ton of stuff already!

Seems like a pretty light cash game bankroll for a scandi. Some of the ones I've played with would go through that in 10 hands at 1/2.

Looking forward to the TR.

$1000 spending money for a 9 night trip is not much, unless you plan on eating at McD and playing $5 blackjack downtown. I would bring at least double that

Thx but I think I will manage. Will not degen too much, breakfast is covered at Harrahs so we are looking at $100 a day + comps. Doubt it will be an issue.

Are prostitutes as readily available in European casinos? Because if so why bother with Vegas?

GLGL, Kabuto and Carnevino ftw.

Are you all from Scandinavia but live in Malta now?

Thanks to MuckPls for starting this thread, allow me to chime in as one of the 3 in the group.

I am the one that goes by the name of O, and I'm from Norway, as OP mentioned above. I have however been living down here for quite a few years now, so although I certainly don't feel like a local yet, I've definitely gotten used to a life of sun and no snow

As far as this trip report goes, I'm probably gonna be the 'boring' one in the trio, as I do not partake in any drinking or any other extra-curricular activities. For me the trip will mostly be about poker, although I'm still in the stage where I love to just stroll around Vegas like a tourist and look around. This will be my third trip to Vegas, and it's been 5 long years since the last one.

Regarding poker, I'm gonna split my time between $1-$2/$1-3 cash games, and tourneys, probably with a slight advantage to cash games. But it really all depends on what I feel like that day, and how the games are etc. I'm thankfully in a spot where my bankroll is at a comfortable level, which is always a good cushion to have when playing cash.

Don't have too many defined goal for the trip, but I'm definitely gonna make sure to cross off the list below:

- Workout at least once a day (either swimming or the gym).
- Join in on one 'Trooper Thursday' at the Westgate (I'm a fan, don't hate )
- Play the $105 8-game mix tournament at The Orleans on Wednesday 25th April. Mixed games are fun!
- Visit downtown (haven't been yet) and play at least one session $1-$2 at Golden Nugget.
- Make sure to try out some other poker rooms I still haven't played in (Wynn, Ballys, Flamingo, Mirage, Excalibur and Harrahs comes to mind).

Will be back later with shoe & bankroll pic, as that seems to be obligatory

I will also try to update most day while in Vegas with interesting hands/stories etc. Given no hangovers etc. I should have a decent chance following up on that promise

+1 to this. That works out to ~100$/day, or 33$/per meal for meals alone as an example. Obv there will be other expenditures as well (eg cabs, entrance fees to museums, shows, random 10$ packs of aspirin, etc).

It can be done, but being in Vegas on scared money or even worse, broke, is zero fun. Since you're making such a far trip I'd really try and at least have access to more cash if possible. Hope you catch some serious opening rungood and make it a moot point.

Also consider the Friday Stratosphere tournament with Pokerkraut. It's supposed to have the best structure of the daily cheapies.

And check Neeme's twitter to see if they're having a meetup game, usually on Tuesday I think.

50$ per meal, we got breakfast covered by the hotel. 100$ per day is a starting plan only, will reach into a few ATM cards if needed or if things go south.

A small breakdown of tournaments that I have planned to play. This will basically only change if I get deep/win in one of them and could be altered/replaced the day we go to Grand Canyon etc. with family.

Date Location Time Buy-in

19th Venetian $150
19th Aria $140
20th Venetian $200
21st Venetian $340
22nd Aria $240
22nd Venetian $150
23rd Venetian $150
24th Venetian $200
25th Aria $140
26th Venetian $125

Also added two KO tourneys the 20th and 21st at Harrahs that have semi-decent strucutre. Love KO so will be lots of fun.

Leon, they're staying at Harrah's, not the Wynn like you. $33 per meal goes a long way at Harrah's.

$50 but yeah, we are planning to visit the medium range places, plenty of burgers and pizza and stuff like that. Will be two nights at Kabuto/Carnevino, rest will be figured out as we go. What I have seen so far is that you can get away with $15-20 meals at places like Gordon Ramsays Burger, the Fish&Chips place, Five50 pizza and tons of Earl of Sandwich

Hi all. Thanks K (MuckPls) for kicking this one off.

BR & plans on my side:

Approx. $2k for tourneys and around some $500/$1k on 1/2 cash (Might be more might be less on both BR and stakes. Keeping the cash approach quite dynamic).

Will mostly aim for turbo/any kind of KOs & CG with NLHE/PLO going on at the bigger venues - A visit to Golden Nugget is a must as well (Joining O on this one) so expect reporting from there as well.

Most likely I'll be the one doing some posts about night outs at Hakkasan, Drai's etc. (Snoop d-o-double-g popping down while we're visiting. Also, A-Trak, Calvin Harris and so on).

Last time I visited the US was a couple of years ago up&down Cali, where Tinder was quite useful. Let's see if Nevada's in the same ranks.

Might be able to post a photo inside a helicopter while being in GC.... Unless US/UK/France/Etc. coalition decides to go loco against Putin & Co. and a bomb dimples down somewhere.

/ J

Look for these and you'll find them..

Wouldn't say it's a common occurrence all the time, but when bigger events are held you might see some Russians/Eastern Europeans/Brazilians strolling around, looking for business.

Dirt Dog at Bally's. Can't beat their $7 hot dogs as far as food goes. Plus there's an In N Out across the street at the Linq and there really isn't a better hamburger out there.

What about Five Guys? (Tried in London, Madrid and Rome. Hoping it has the same "standards" in Vegas as those ones).
