Probably a good fold, because as Ed Miller says, nobody at low limits bluff on the river.

I guess you guys are leaving Friday? Too bad, the best tournament in town (imo) is on Fridays at the Orleans. Usually between 100 and 200 entries with a few thousand up top. Good structure too.

Pig4bill: BigWhale and Enhanced leave Thursday, me and J leave Friday afternoon.

And with that another morning started! Some random picks during the walk over to Bellagio as the sun comes up:

Plan for today is very similar to yesterday. Get breakfast here at the B and then crush cash games for 8 hours. And by crushing I obviously mean losing several buyins, so if anyone is short on cash just drop over

It will be the last full session btw, from tomorrow I am moving from Mirage to the Bellagio again (fully comped yay!) and will just chill and play random small tourneys the last 4 days.

Also just bumped into this random dude in the lobby:

Also for you VP degens out there, played a short UX session last night. And with Leon’s famous words, I’m the master of non-multiplier quads:

All this was within 30 minutes or so.

How does the pot get to $800 on the flop? Sounds like you had a $15 pot or pre so it must have been $15, $45, $135, ship or similar?

I think I would have been concerned about a set at some point in that. Still might have shipped. And obviously your range was great against his. The Q being of flush suit helped too.

I c-r flop for $85 and he just piles it in for $400. Obviously can’t fold in that spot...

Edit: he only completed the straddle so he cannot have QQ. If he has 55 we still have 40% equity but that’s worst case scenario:

Never heard of anyone playing tennis in Vegas before, but always been intrigued (played in high school).

How much was it, and how were the courts? Were they all reserved/full?

I see they went from 8 courts down to 4 with the rest converted to pickleball.

Yeah, we just randomly got the idea as we were driving past the courts when taking the monorail, and they always seemed to be fairly empty.

Price was $75 in total for us both I think, this included buying tennis balls + borrowing rackets.

I believe two of the other courts were in use, but this was obviously early Saturday morning (well, around 10am) - probably not the time of the day where most people are awake and ready to play tennis.

Absolutely mental game this morning at the Bellagio. One guy drunk as hell just giving away money.

Nothing special happening, except this time my hands actually hold!

In for $300, currently at:

Bigwhale - I for one strongly approve of you cutting your session short. I think the only reason to play a long session is being at a great table/on a great run (winning image.). So it happens organically. If I tried to put in a session of N hours it sounds like a recipe to lose money.

That’s said, I don’t mind playing 8-12 hours in a day, sometimes more, but it will include table changes, casino changes, maybe a nap.

This is why I like Double Super Times pay instead of UX. You don't get multipliers on every push, but when you get them on the deal, they apply to every hand in the push.

I took a group lesson at the Desert Inn (now the Wynn location) I think it was. It was about 105 but, you know, a dry heat.

I've been going to Bally's since it was the MGM and I had no idea they had tennis courts. How were the racquets, fairly decent? How long do they let you play for that cost?

As allured to above, me and Enhanced started the day with a trip Downtown! The Donut Bar had their 3 year anniversary, which meant a lot of people and activities:

Quite a long line to get in, but there were still plenty of donuts left. We had these:

After getting stuffed by donuts, we said hello to YouTuber 'SayHiToMatthew'. Not sure how many on here who is familiar with him, but despite not being a poker player he loves Vegas and often travels from Toronto to here. He often promotes The Donut Bar, and he gave us one of his special made donuts each:

After this we strolled up Fremont Street with the usual sights and sounds. This one is a reminder to that_pope, two Kings are always welcome here:

The construction of 'Circa' is still ongoing, would expect it to be finished circa 2020:

After that we went to Golden Nugget. Enhanced as always played no poker, while I got a seat in a $1-$2 game. Super easy game, I made a lot of decent value bets and stack was looking nice:

I cashed out a cool profit of almost $200..... oh wait, since I'm a joke of a poker player that's unfortunately not what happened.

In the second to last hand UTG limps, and I come along with Q9dd (could raise, should have folded). Many others limp as well, before an older player in the BB makes it $7. That gets rid of no-one, and 6 players see the beauty of T-9-9.

Another older player, who have been extremely spewy/active so far, leads for $25, and the pre-flop raiser calls. I make it $105 to go, and only the spewy older fish calls. He has been having a super wide pre-flop selection (32cc, J4ss etc.), I called down his bluff once, and he also 3-bet my UTG-open earlier with KQo (I had KJss).

Turn is my least favorite card in the world, another T. He checked dark before turn, and I check behind. River is an 8 (straight not really relevant as board is double paired), and he leads for $200.

It stinks like a Ten, but is he really so f* bad that he would call a sizeable raise on flop with only a T? I guess he is, but in game I thought it was more likely he was trying to get me off a nine, overplaying a nine, or bluffing with a straight. I make a crying call, and he shows... T6o. Well played, well played.

I snap-cashed out down $118 USD, and must admit I still feel super tilted if just thinking about the hand. I have had much worse losses before, but I was mentally ready to leave with an easy $200 profit, and instead it all goes to pieces in that last hand. Tough to take, given:

1) If I was mentally prepared to cash out, I should have just folded pre.
2) Even though opponent is terrible, I should probably fold the river.
3) I should still be in that game as it was super profitable, not just leave because I got frustrated.

So yeah, that was no fun at all. Instead of continuing on an uptick in a session where I felt I played really good, controlled poker, I instead left with a really bad feeling. But just gotta shake it off and get back on the grind in a bit I guess, as I am sure there are still some very good games out there today. Hopefully I can make better decisions then.

Sounds like you guys are having a good trip, enjoy it.

I always found MGM weekend games good and turned about £2,000 profit in 18-20 hours of play there. That did involve me backdooring 2 pair into quads vs top set in a big 3 way pot though...

I also played the $100 6pm at Ceasars along with Enhanced. And although my result was not on the same level as him, I have no complaints with how I played.

To cut it short, my starting table involved a huge fish who was bluffing way too much. I got short early, then doubled with QQ vs A9 on a 9-4-5-5 board (money in on turn), then trickled down a bit before doubling again, this time with 66 pre against the fish A5 and another players QJ.

Played an interesting hand against the fish later as well, when I raised KTo to 1500 pre from early position (3-600). Bit loose, but we were only 7-handed and table was weak. Fish calls SB, rest folds. Flop comes J-T-4, and he checks. I check back for pot-control + I have seen that he loves to blast when others show weakness. Turn is another J, and he checks again. I bet 2200, and he check-raises to 8100. Bit weird, as this is a different line than I expected him to take. I give it a bit of time, but in the end decide that this guy is way too spewy to give this one up. I call, with plans to call down on pretty much any river as well. River comes a 5, which put backdoor diamonds out there, but I do have a flush blocker in the form of Kd. He moves all-in, I call, and he shows the complete airball of K7hh.

All this lead to me having a great stack of around 35000 chips to 1st break. Blinds would be 4-800-800 after.

We are down to 20 players when I sit down after break, and the very first hand I get QQ from UTG. I make it 2000 to go, while the two new players to my left discuss a bluff that the youngest of them made earlier. He also calls my 2000, and BB calls.

7-6-5 is the flop. Not the very best one out there, but can still bet for value. I bet 3000 (half pot), and the young player mentioned above just moves all-in for over 40000 chips (!). BB folds and it's back on me. I can't see him ever playing a set like this, so unless some weird two pair, this is pretty much always gonna be an overplayed overpair or something like 78. So I call it off, and opponent shows TT.

Enhanced later told me that average stack at FT would have been 47000, so this is a pot that could easily have landed me there. But it wasn't to be as a Ten hits the river, and we're out of the Ceasars $100 6pm tourney. Pretty unlucky! When I played this tourney on Monday I also had the same thing happen (TT vs 99, 9 on river).

---

Headed over to what is weirdly enough one of my favorite rooms, The Excalibur, and started a cash game session instead. There was a huge donator in this game as well, but disappointingly enough I never got involved in huge hands with him, and he racked up to leave after I had been in the game for around 2.5 hours. That said, it certainly wasn't unprofitable, as seen below:

(here I have limped in, like the fish I am)

In the end I cashed out for +$205, which was pretty good and ensured that I profited on cash game this day as well. I really would have liked to get in any huge hands against the donator, but can't complain overall I guess.

Today.. who knows? Don't have any concrete plans yet, and actually slept until 10am (late for me in Vegas). Might go promo-hunting at Venetian, as I believe they are starting a new high hand promotion today.

Cash Games:

Hours played: 28h 30min
Won/lost: +$507.00 USD
Hourly rate: +$17.79 USD

Tournaments:

Won/lost: - $105.00 USD (4 played)

Woke up and joined the PH $80 tournament with J just for fun. Played a pretty funny hand:

In the bb with Jc9c, there is a small raise which everyone calls. Flop is Td7d2x. Guy makes it half the pot, gets 5 calls and we ship it for fun for like 9000. We get 4 callers, up against T7, 72 and AdJd. Turn blank river is an 8 and the OMCs are going nuts!

LOL, great pic.

It's cool how you guys are having fun doing your own thing. I went with a group of friends once (I was actually friends with only one of the group) and they all just followed the alpha around like lost puppies. I wouldn't be surprised if they all went to the bathroom together.
