Just another day in Paradise.
... which is actually a very correct description of our location, as most of the Las Vegas Strip actually is not in the actual city limits, but in Paradise - "an incorporated town adjacent to the city of Las Vegas":

I was super tired after the 8-game tomorrow, so slept until 9:15am or so. Had to get up then though, as me and
Enhanced had plans to head to
TopGolf at 10pm. When staying at the Signature, it's obviously just a short stroll down.
Enhanced have already posted a picture of the 'Driving Range', but they obviously offer refreshments in the form of food and drink as well:
Overall it was a great start to the day, the air was crisp, I actually hit some semi-decent (for me) golf shots, and it felt good to get all the tilt from yesterday out of the system.
After golf I took a quick shower and headed out to find a game. Decided on Venetian, and took the Monorail over to Harrah's before walking the rest of the way.
Almost there:
Got seated immediately in a game, and buy in for $300. While basically still waiting for my chips I get the welcome sight of
QQ from UTG. I make it $10 to go in this $1-$3 game, and get three callers. Flop comes
A-J-2. Not ideal, so I check it, and the rest of the players follow suit. Turn is another
A, which seems like a good card. I bet $20 after the BB has checked, and the two players behind fold, before BB check-min-raises to $40. Seems a bit weird to me, but I guess it's an Ace most of the time. Maybe I should just have folded, but for some reason I didn't think he was super strong and wanted to see the river.
It comes a
Q, and he leads for $40. He only has a $100 behind, and although I can be behind some full houses I also think I can get max value from any A. So I move all-in, and opponent thinks for 3-4 seconds before calling. I told him I got lucky on the river, but it turns out I didn't as he shows A2 for a better full house. He celebrates loudly, walks away from the table for a few moments, and cashes out 10 minutes later..
Oh well, not much I can do there. I reload for another $100, and a few hands later I get
QQ again from early position. It folds to me, and I make it $10. An older player in Small Blind is the only caller. Although I haven't been at the table for too long, I see him make some strange plays, such as opening A9o UTG for a min-raise. Anyway, flop comes
K-J-6 and he leads $15 in front. I make the call, and another
K lands on the turn. This time he bets $75, which actually feels more defensive than strong to me. Would he really blast a King that hard? I don't think so, and I make the call again.
Very standard river, as a
Q lands once again. He bets $100, I move all-in for $18 more, and he calls with QJo. That's obviously no good and I am back to even (slight profit). Obviously the river made it easy to call down, but I still think I would have done it even without it.
I do however lose a bit more when I raise
9Tdd to $15 over two limps, and c-bet a
Q-7-2 flop with two hearts. Probably too thin of a bet as I have no backdoors though. Anyway, one caller, turn goes check check after the
T lands, and river comes a
6. He leads for $50, and I talk myself into a call after what looked like hesitation on his part on flop before calling. It might have been hesitation, but he was likely thinking about raising instead, as he shows AQ for the winner. Definitely $50 bucks I could have saved there I think.
Also lose a hand with
T9hh where board is
6-4-2-8 on turn with two hearts, but I miss the river against a very tight older Asian woman. So I'm suddenly stuck over $100 again.
Then it's a limp for $3 from a tilted player, an older guy makes it $14 and the woman calls, and I look down at black
KK. I make it $50, and to my delight see the limper push all-in for around $150. The other two folds, and I obviously call.
7-7-K-A-3 is the final bord, but he did not have pocket Aces as he just mucks after seeing my hand. Unfortunately he did not reload.
One more interesting hand as well; there is 3-4 limps to me in SB and I look down at
JJ. I make it $20 to go, only to see first limper re-raise to $50. Really stinks like Aces, but I had seen this guy do the same move once before (no showdown), so could theoretically be part of his strategy. I do call, and
T-J-T hits the flop. Nice! I check, but he quickly checks back. Turn is a
5, and I decide to check again. Not entirely sure how strong he is, but want to give him the chance to bet. He again checks back. River comes a
7, and I don't think I can wait any longer. I bet $100, and he thinks for 15-20 seconds before calling and turning over AA.
He obviously seemed very proud of himself afterwards for 'losing the minimum', but that is such a passive way to play Aces.
So yeah, many big pots and a decent looking stack:
Only played for 2 hours, and cashed out $600 for a profit of +$200. Feels like it should have been more with all those big pots, but regardless a good confidence booster for upcoming sessions.
Now I'm gonna hit the gym for a quick one, and then head out for a few hours of evening grind.
