Perhaps a few examples of your purchases and comparable price back home would ease my curiosity.

Look forward to all the posts in this thread.

Not sure where BigWhale shops here in Malta, but I would say everything is at least 50% cheaper in the US for us. One of the reasons I’m only bringing a small cabin bag and will shop like crazy while there.

For Caesars Entertainment casinos, log into your Total Rewards account. The Rewards Credits/100 equals your comp dollars. At many of their restaurants/gift shops, etc you just hand them your TR card and you can spend your comps directly.

Near the airport, there is an Outlet mall, where a lot of major brands have their own little stores. The prices aren't great, but they have to be better than Macy's at Fashion Show.

I am a low roller and a Swede when it comes to clothes, so H&M will be more than enough for me. It’s Swedish after all!

Stuff about to get real, we are on our way out of Malta, and looks like we have some good run with connection and the flight being on time!

Latest update from MuckPls and sicarriu5 is that plane is 30 minutes behind schedule, leaving them with a coinflip on whether they make connection to San Fransisco or not. Hold one time?

Nice TR so far. Hopefully they start with some rungood and make the connection. Your dedication on getting to vegas is commendable.

Currently cruising along somewhere above Italy, with 50 minutes until landing.

Apparently there is a strike in Belgium that affects planes all over Europe, so our United plane is likely delayed as well. Damn Belgium (yeah I’m looking at you R!)

Chances should be pretty decent that we reach our connection and then only a “short” 16 hours until Vegas

Someone mentioned Las Vegas National golf course - yes it has history but if you are looking for a nice course I do not recommend it. I played there back in January and it is, in my opinion, in terrible shape. I would never pay $100 bucks to play there and definitely not in Vegas where I'm looking for a nice course and there are loads of similarly priced alternatives.

The surrounding area is not in good shape and neither is the course. I found a picture

I see, thanks. What would your suggestions be then?

Today I woke up at 6:15 AM after 9 good hours of sleep. Not too bad!

Lazied around for a bit before heading to the gym for an early morning workout. Hardly the longest one I have taken, but felt really good to generate a bit of sweat. Also passed by Starbucks for a juice (healthy AF) and a croissant.

Then together with Enhanced I made my way over here:

(sorry for blurry pictures in this update).

The above is the poker room at Ceasars Palace, where we entered their 10am daily $100 tourney. 12k starting chips, 20 minutes blinds, and in total it got 38 entries with top 4 paid.

Unfortunately no cash for either of us, despite the good start that Enhanced had (as documented above). He actually busted slightly before me, while I battled the short stack and being card dead for a long time. Did however manage to win two flips when I was super short to keep myself alive, before finding a really great spot to become a contender with about 17 players left.

There was a raise to 3600 pre (6-1200-1200) from mid-pos, a very weak player called in the cutoff, and I look down at red TT on the button. I move all-in for around 15k, and the raiser tank-folds while the fish makes the snap-call. I am up against 99 for a almost 35k pot, but another 9 hits the river for an unfortunate bad beat.

Went to catch up with brother who had busted just a few minutes before, and found him playing some Ultimate X VP. Seems like a good idea! I deposit $100 and am careful to this time bet max credits to activate the feature (bet $25 cent though, not $50).

That worked out well:

Sorry again for a very blurry picture, but basically I hit quad 4's (without kicker) on an 8x multiplier line. That was good for around $800 in winnings, and I obviously cashed out. Pretty sick how good I run at VP for being such a n00b, and although the winnings would have been a handpay with $50 cent wager, I'm still not complaining!

Now back at the hotel, and gonna hit up the pool a bit in this nice weather. After that I will definitely find a cash game and get in some hours.

/O

Bali Hai was real nice and close to the strip but it was literally across the street from the airport so you had to deal with airplane noise the entire round. It wasn't that big of a deal to me but it really messed up my friend's concentration.

Courses I would definitely play again are TPC Las Vegas and Arroyo Golf Club out in Red Rock. Arroyo is a bit of a drive but we had a good deal from Golf Now and the course was great with nice views.

Bear's Best Golf Course is also ringing a bell but I'm not sure if we were just considering that one or if we actually played it.

One last update tonight, as just came back from a short cash game session at Aria ($1-$3).

In hindsight started the session a bit too late, as I was pretty tired and noticed I wasn't focusing as well as I should. Misplayed a few small pots, and only had one interesting hand of note.

It's folded to me in cutoff, and I raise to $10 with KQdd. A weak player on the button calls, before BB makes it $25 to go

The big blind is a young Asian who has been vastly overplaying some holdings, but has built up a good stack thanks to some rungood. He was involved in probably 70% of the hands, either by limp-calling pre or raising himself. I hadn't seen him 3-bet before this hand however.

I make the call, and button calls as well. Flop comes 9-8-2 with one diamond. The Asian surprisingly check. I consider betting, but check as well, and button also check. Turn is the nice looking Jd, so I suddenly have a flushdraw, gutshot to a straight (even to a straight flush!), and two overcards. The Asian bets $25, which doesn't feel very strong given his flop-check and the same bet-size as pre. So I bump it up to $75. He thinks for a bit before calling (button folded).

River comes a terrible card; a black 9. I miss everything, and before I even can contemplate if a bluff-shove could work (probably not), the opponent leads out for $110. I can only send my hand to the muck at the speed of light. Frustrating to miss there, but maybe I could have bet the flop when checked to?

When all was said and done I was down $152 USD. Not a good result, but it happens I guess.

Cash games:

Hours played: 3h 0min
Won/lost: +$202.00 USD
Hourly rate: +$67.33 USD

Tournaments:

Won/lost: - $100.00 USD (1 played)

Volume so far is not very impressive, but still many days to go and I'm definitely gonna increase it a bit. That said, one of the goals was also to chill and relax a bit more, and have managed that so far as well. But I do want to play a bit more poker of course, so let's start on that tomorrow.

Handpays come with a tax form, so maybe not the best thing to get, depending on your country's tax treaty.

Can't tell from the pic, but hope you had your player's card in the machine. Casinos like vp players.

So here we are on our first morning jet lagged as crazy and ready to take in Vegas.

A few words about the trip that was absolutely horrible. We departed Malta with a 45 minutes delay and arrived late in Frankfurt which in turn meant getting off the plane and do a major sprint to the gate and board as last passengers.

The flight over to SFO was extremely smooth and chill, we flew night all the way, and despite the plane being full and two babys in front of us we could watch a few movies etc. The only negative side was that the seats are absolutely horrible and I was crying with pain halfway through.

Either way we made it with yet another 40 minutes delay and landed at the time the Vegas plane was boarding. The queue to immigration was 60+ deep with two counters working and a nice lady already informed us not to sweat it, we are missing the Vegas flight.

5 minutes later out of nowhere they open up 8 new gates, we go through and run as crazy to our departure gate only to find out there is ANOTHER security check. Geez...

And who do they take out of the queue for “random screening”? Obviously me. So after getting my prostate checked (not really but almost) J was running as fast as he could and somehow held the plane and we reached it, again the second we boarded it left.

Bonus story, and what are the chances! A guy in pilot suit sits next to us and we are chatting about flying and we start talking about United and he points to another pilot and two flight crew. Turns out he was the one flying us from Frankfurt to SFO, he lives in Vegas and was going home. Sick...

Anywho, exhausted as hell we made it to the Mirage, tried the $20 trick but it must have backfired because we are placed in a room on the 2nd floor with roof view. Oh well, didn’t come here to sleep so whatever.

Speaking of sleep, currently 6am and jet lag has kicked in well. Time to wake up, get some caffeine and search for a game - possibly Bellagio.

The plan for the rest of the day is to visit a dispensary, get some spa time, check in to Bellagio (2 nights there yay!) and then Venetian $200 bounty at 8pm.

Until then. Decisions were made:

lol @ your view. Hopefully there are stairs you can use to get down, the worst part of the 2nd floor if you have to take an elevator is that it is usually full when it gets to you during peak hours.
