Agree that this thread needs more Leroy.

I can't help with that, but as promised - here is the obligatory shoes + bankroll pic on my part (obviously only partial bankroll):

PS: Found a fifty among all the others, obviously removed it for the picture. Should I just put it on fire and pretend it never existed?

It's time for my first post in this thread. I will begin by getting the formalities out of the way:

Sorry about the grey pixelated look on parts of the bankroll, don't know how to fix that.

In addition to losing money at the casinos, I also intend to find time for a a few rounds of golf. Can anyone recommend me 1) A decent short 9 hole course in the Vegas area, could even be a par 3 course and 2) A decent full 18 hole course with good value for money?

Just gonna leave this here (hope it works) - have to find it next week! Shout-out to Slim!

Edit I suck at embedding so leaving just the picture:

72 hours to go for J and me, while BigWhale and brother fly out early tomorrow morning.

I like the Las Vegas National Golf Club. Greenfee is around 100$ and it has a lot of history. It was the golf hangout for the Ratpack and also the movie 'Casino' was partly shot there. (the house of Sam Rothstein is adjacent to the course and you can see it from the 15th or 16th hole, can't remember which one exactly)

All right, ladies (?) and gentlemen, the trip is well under way now. This post is coming to you from a random hotel in Los Angeles at 3:30 am. Well, technically the hotel is in El Segundo, but regardless close to LAX Airport.

Me and Enhanced (brother) got up at 5am yesterday in Norway, and headed to Oslo Airport to start the trip. The first leg was a quick 40 minutes hop to Stockholm (Sweden), before the highlight of the trip (flying wise) - 11 hours with SAS Airlines from Arlanda to Los Angeles.

That said, we weren't planning on spending those hours in a full row with no legroom:

That's right, business class, bitches!

11 hours in a plane is a long time regardless of the comfort, but it sure made the trip go by much easier. I spent the first hours listening to Crush Live Poker podcasts and watching some Netflix, and the hours passed by. Here we are passing Greenland, which despite the name didn't look very green:

Soon after this I reclined the seat 100% down, found blankets and pillows, and went to sleep. With the help of noise-canceling headphones and being tired from the early start I think I got around 1.5 hours of sleep in total. Great way to pass the time for sure, and much needed. Flying conditions were really good all the way, almost no significant turbulence to speak of.

Eventually the trip came towards the end, and Los Angeles made it's entrance:

Landed just a few minutes after this picture was taken, and despite a line from hell in Immigration I was through after around 30-40 minutes.

After that we got a shuttle to the hotel, and just chilled around for 3-4 hours before going to bed. I slept almost the whole way through from 6:30pm to 3:15am, so while not completely over jet-lag yet it was a good step in the right direction.

Flight to Vegas is at 6am Pacific Time, so gonna head out to the Airport in an hour or so. Then it's just a short hop before VEGAS and the f**king Mira.... MGM Signature awaits!

Gonna be amazing to be back again, and although probably won't be too much poker today we'll see what we can squeeze in. Will obviously update thread with happenings, and in 48 hours we will be joined by K and J as well in Sin City.

Good question! Definitely is some truth to it I think, but there are other stuff on CLP that has helped me more.

On another note, in Vegas now! Will update TR shortly.

Finally this thread will get some actual Vegas-action! This was the sight that greeted us from a super chill United Airlines flight just before 7am this morning:

Followed up by this sight just a few minutes later:

As we both are renting a room through AirBnB, we couldn't check in at MGM Signature until 3pm, which meant a lot of hours to kill. Dropped the bags there, and first went over to New York New York to have breakfast at Americana. Fairly decent food, although the portion sizes never ceases to amaze a couple of Europeans. Had no chance to finish our order.

After that we just went randomly around a bit. Found ourselves here at one point:

Also was at Aria and tried our hands at some VP, but without any luck so far.

Eventually we decided, as we were both a bit tired from walking around and in general, to head over to Fashion Show Mall and do some shopping until check-in time. As always lots of great selections of clothes at Macy's for a reasonable prize.

After Fashion Show Mall we went back to Signature, when it was time for check-in. The process was (at least for me) very smooth, and the room looks super nice as well:

Also can't complain about this huge shower + bath tub with jet streams!

Also had time for a super quick trip to the pool before it closed. Weather is fairly decent, and it's gonna be warmer the next two days at least before getting a bit colder again.

Getting pretty tired after a long day, but my plan is to go out and get maybe 2-3 hours in of cash games before bed. It appears tThere are a lot of tables running all over town, so clearly the March Madness effect is still in place. Casino and game to be decided after studying Bravo!

To conclude, f**king awesome being back in Vegas again, and it's gonna be even better when the jet-lag wears off. With 10 full days still to come after this one, there is gonna be a lot of fun coming up!

I don't know you euros do it. There is nothing on earth I can think of that would make me voluntarily sit on a plane that long.

What kind of prices are you paying for clothes back home if the fashion show mall Macy's equates to reasonable price?

Perhaps a few examples of your purchases and comparable price back home would ease my curiosity.

Look forward to all the posts in this thread.

Finally, some poker!

Despite being tired, I forced myself down to play a bit. Staying at Signature, the poker room at MGM Grand was an obvious choice for a quick session. 7 tables running tonight, and I quickly got a seat in a $1-$2 game.

Sat down with $300, and honestly only had two interesting hands the short time I played.

In the first one there was a raise from a local to $11 from EP1 over a limp from UTG. I make the call in CO with 8c 8d, and everyone else folds. We see a nice looking 9-8-6 flop with two spades. The raiser bets $25, which is full pot, and I make it $80 to go. I would consider making this raise with many kinds of hands (good flushdraws, 97, 76) to put pressure on overpairs, so it seems fairly standard. Opponent has none of that however, and moves all-in. I obviously snap-call, and am good for (almost) a full double.

(opponent said he had Aces, and I assume he was telling the truth)

A bit later I get Aces myself, and raise to $8 from UTG. A very weak player in UTG+1 calls, and the opponent from last hand calls in BB. Flop comes Js-8d-2s, and I bet $16 into $25. First player folds, but BB check-raises to $32. I assume that means he is strong, and he only have around $100 behind. I go all-in, and he thinks for a long time before deciding on a fold.

As soon as the hand is over I realize I made a mistake. A min-click back there is often a hand trying to find out where it's at, and being in position I think I can call and underrep my hand a bit. Yes, there are some draws out there that I potentially let him draw to cheaply, but it would be a huge disaster if he somehow folded a hand like QJ and JT that he otherwise might continue to bet on turn.

Anyway, I will blame that hand on the tiredness-factor. And if nothing else, we have a nice looking stack:

Not too much else happened after this hand, and I was tired and felt the concentration starting to fade. So I just cashed out and booked the nice start to the trip after only playing for 1.5 hours.

Cash games:

Hours played: 1h 30 min
Profit/loss: +$357 USD
Hourly rate: +$238.00 USD

Now it's 8:30 PM, and I'm heading to bed. Living the rockstar life out here in Las Vegas for sure! Will come back stronger tomorrow, and I am sure K and J will update their travel as well. Hopefully it won't be a 'badsalt' trip for them! (internal joke).

Hello, thanks for following!

Although I don’t live in Norway anymore, the prices here seems a fair bit cheaper than back home. I would say they are pretty much on par with Malta, which is not too bad for an overpriced Strip-location.

That said, I haven’t studied this in huge detail so don’t quote me on it

Also, random Q for locals or others in the know:

Is there any way to check my poker comps without asking the poker room staff about it? I have definitely earned up a few dollars here and there, and would be silly to just let comps expire.
