This is my first attempt for a (fantastic) trip report.
It might just end up in this only post, who knows?

Short background.
40 years old, working in a small company (40+ employees) as the responsible for it all. It is a great company and they will cover for me (I hope) so I don't have to work that much from Vegas.

Been to Vegas 3 times before with different experiences:

• First trip, ended up on a clinic and got medical help to keep on going. was stuck in my hotel room for about 5 of 10 days. That sucks.
  
• Second trip, more or less a free trip (I collect bonus points and paid for a friend too). Poker results was OK. Among other things I won a smaller tourney at Caesars (after a chop).
  
• Third trip, with two friends who also was on the first trip. Worst poker results in my life - that still makes me feel ill.

This is the fourth trip and will be in Vegas for 10 days. All trips before has been 10-14 days.
I will have a friend with me who also was on the first trip. We go with different planes and different routes, but will be sharing room.

I will be in Vegas from April 19, and leave 10 days later. I fly from Northern Europe so the trip is one of the worst parts.
I did place a bid on an upgrade on my trip so if I am lucky, I will enjoy the trip a little bit more.

Plan is to play at the Venetian April 20, the $250 Deepstack thing. That is starting day 1E that saturday.

Note, I am an amature when it comes to poker, so you might not understand my unlogical thinking in hands, if I report them...
However, feedback is very appriciated.

I do play both Holdem and PLO. I don't like Limit Holdem though.

And please try to be patient when it comes to my english skills, I do not write or speak english reguarly.

Goals with trip:

• Play a lot of cash games (Holdem)
• Play PLO
• Play one tourney at the Venetian
• Eat in a lot of places.
• Stay pretty sober
• Visit the gym now and then, maybe go for some longer walks if the weather if ok (or early mornings).
• Take one really good picture (for framing in my poker room at home) - I was thinking to do it from Skyfall... Any other suggestions?

I will try to post pictures since I love too see them myself when reading other trip reports.

Sounds like it will be a good trip report. I’m confident you can keep up with it. Just don’t try to do the report live. Take some pictures and take notes on interesting hands and do a write up each morning while you are relaxing. Your English is pretty good, not perfect but good. Nothing to worry about. Much better than I can do in any non-native language. What type of company do you manage?

Upgrade accepted. Will enjoy my flight in Business Class instead of wanting to kill myself for 11 hours with all the other cheap people

(I paid approx $225 for my trip to from Norden Europe to LA and got the upgrade for points).

Should be in the air in 42 hours.

perfect start to the trip. will it be day flight or night flight?

pro tip from me and something I always do before a long haul bus class trip...if it's a day flight, try to stay up the previous night which should help you a) get a good night's sleep even on a day flight and b) gets you to US time a day earlier to reduce jetlag

I have no idea if this works but Daniel Negreanu always champions not eating for 15 hours before breakfast time in the TZ you are headed to. Your body learns when breakfast time is and that’s when it wakes up...

I can see the logic in that, albeit if I’m paying for bus class I’m gonna eat and drink as much as possible

Yes, it is a day flight and I will not sleep much the night before no matter if I want to or not

I can't really do that, I am not a guy who can skip food. But thanks for the suggestion.

Same here, will either do that or drink a lot quick and then sleep for the rest of the trip.

Time for update.

It is approx 6 am sunday morning i Vegas and I am awake.
My sleep schedule is not in order and my friend who I share room with is now sick :/

However, here is a summary of the trip here and the first days:

Flight was good.
Upgrade to Business Class was really good when it comes to comfort and service. Good quality drinks and a pretty new cabin.

Food was 7/10, some was really really good, but some was not that good.

I was only able to sleep about 1,5-2 hours.

Meeting up with my friend at the airport in Vegas and we go by cab directly to our hotel.

At this point when arriving to the hotel, I've been in travel mode for about 20 hours.

We check in, do the $20-trick and get a nice room on the 17th floor, overlooking the pool area (at Harrahs).
As I have a mental conflict with beeing high up in buildings, pics might come later with the view.

We decide just to play a little bit to get it started and the eat and sleep.

-$149 and a pizza slice I am off to bed and sleeping at 10pm.

Waking up at 6 am we leave the hotel and just walk around. 6000 steps later breakfast and 2000 steps more we start drinking. That is a great idea 9 am.

Really tired at lunch time we join the Venetian DSE for $250.
I play just bad and is in for 3 hours when I run into AA with my A7s.

Off to try to get som sleep that fails so I go to Caesars and burn $500 at 1-2.

I go to bed at 9pm, I sleep until my friend comes home at 2am, falls into sleep again and now it is 6 am and I eat my first meal of the day, Starbucks egg and cheese-thing.

Plan for now is to go play and not loose. Stay sober for a while is also a good idea.
